Benefit enrollment for new hires, and for annual open enrollment is also very smooth. We've actually received feedback from our employees on how easy it is to use. **What do you dislike about QuickBooks Workforce?** Workflows aren't very intuitive. I'd also like a more robust reporting feature that can pull data from anywhere in the system (for example, custom fields, expiration dates, etc.). Finally, I'd like the ACA reporting to be able to pull information for the 1095-Cs. Good Product but Some Bumps Along the Way **Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Shari S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2022 **What do you like best about QuickBooks Workforce?** GoCo's workflows have been a true time saver for us, especially when it comes to onboarding new team members but also as it pertains to automating various other processes e.g., offboarding, 30/60/90 day reviews, etc. The ability to obtain digital signatures and assign tasks to different team members is great. The workflows make it easy to ensure that company processes are carried out completely, consistently, and with clear accountability. Workflows are the true power of GoCo! GoCo enables us to store essential employee data and access it very easily. The system's interface is easy to use for HR and for employees. I am in and out of GoCo all day. The app is well-designed and it's great to have the info I need at all times at my fingertips, even if I am out of the office. Our account management team at GoCo (shoutout to Hao and Ozzy!!) has gone out of their way to listen to our issues and try to work with us to fix them. While the fixes haven't been perfect and sometimes we are left waiting for the software to catch up with our needs, we really do appreciate the time and attention that has been given to helping us. Hao and Ozzy are incredibly responsive, empathetic and knowledgeable and have been true partners to us. **What do you dislike about QuickBooks Workforce?** I think GoCo has sometimes struggled with prioritizing essential features on their software development roadmap. For example, we waited for almost a year before the ability to duplicate documents was added. The lack of ability to do this was a huge time suck but GoCo prioritized other cosmetic GUI-related items before getting around to adding document duplication to the software. Kudos to the company though - cloning documents is now very easy! Next I'd love for the performance management process to enable downloading the the final document. This is important as employees often want to keep a copy of their review in their files and employers need to be able to share these documents as part of legal discovery if needed. GoCo's reporting feature gets a B+. I'd give it an A but it still needs the ability to filter out data. For example, I can run a salary report for all team members but can't run a salary report for just the Sales Department. This is overcome by downloading the excel report and using filters, but still... Our biggest issue is that while the workflow concept is a great idea, the GoCo workflows aren't the easiest to set up and there is minimal support provided to clients in general in on this feature. Because the team at GoCo has software experience but not Human Resources experience, we often find ourselves struggling to figure out how to make use of the workflows in a way that makes sense from an HR perspective. There's also no user community so I am sure we are reinventing the wheel building workflows that others have created already. I think GoCo could really benefit from having a robust library of workflows that users could tap into, or at least a community platform for sharing ideas. Lastly, GoCo's payroll platform is a partner solution which was not right for our needs. Because GoCo did not have an API integration option with our current payroll provider this caused some errors and insecurity about what data was being brought over for payroll runs through their sync team. **What problems is QuickBooks Workforce solving and how is that benefiting you?** Storage and access of employee data, workflows to enable essential HR processes, HR reporting, electronic signatures and a fully digital onboarding experience for new hires! ### 18. The system itself is relatively easy to use, the marketplace contains a lot of great modules that you can continue adding into your system to improve or just add fun. It is effortless to get ahold of the helpdesk, and it functions well for something my company and I use daily. **What do you dislike about QuickBooks Workforce?** I am having trouble with the time kiosks, my employees find it frustrating that the kiosks are constantly getting kicked out of the application and I haven't been able to utilize the actual app since November and have been using the web browser version, which is fine, but we aren't able to take forward facing pictures and I sometimes have to run around my facility to make sure they are updated/refreshed. **What problems is QuickBooks Workforce solving and how is that benefiting you?** GoCo solves the ease of time tracking, documentation, and open enrollments. I lead a non-profit organization with multiple locations and about 25 employees, and having GoCo has become essential. We use it extensively, including onboarding, PTO, performance reviews, payroll (syncing with Quickbooks Payroll), and general employee documentation and management. Even the little things, like if we need an employee to sign a new form, it's a few clicks and it's ready in their inbox. So easy. Setup takes some time, but it's very straightforward. As for the support, there have been a few times when I've needed to reach out to the GoCo team and every time, they are so helpful and enthusiastic. They seem to love their job and love HR, which is exactly the kind of person I need in those moments! Every time they have solved my problem. **What do you dislike about QuickBooks Workforce?** There are QUITE a lot of features that do not come with the base package. You'll need to also purchase several of their apps to get functions like PTO, performance reviews, workflows, benefits, and time tracking. It does make sense that they do this so that you can build the HR platform you need, but you do need to factor these additional costs into your decision. One more thing about support, although the support staff are AMAZING, it takes at least 24 hours for them to get back to me. The feature set was great and it had everything we needed for our growing company, at a great price point. However, the thing that was the tipping point for us was their company culture and the way they treated and have continued to treat their customers. We feel our voice is valuable and listened to, and we are already involved in giving direct feedback in product development. Not only that, but we are excited to see how GoCo is innovating in the HRIS world. We're excited to grow with them. **What do you dislike about QuickBooks Workforce?** I think my only complaint about GoCo is that it's not yet quite as polished as some of the other products I reviewed. Don't get me wrong--its core features are very good and stable, and I love the pace of innovation they're exhibiting. So many of my HR tasks are a breeze now thanks to GoCo. It's like having an administrative assistant. Leabe time tracking sends approval notifications directly to managers, open enrollment can be done through GoCo so I don't have to track down paper forms, reporting is easy and customizable. **What do you dislike about QuickBooks Workforce?** The time tracking app has its issues, but I'm not 100% sure if that's all a GoCo problem, or a Samsung (our tablets for timeclock kiosks) problem, or some combination. We just have to restart the app more than I think I should. **What problems is QuickBooks Workforce solving and how is that benefiting you?** Leave time tracking - employees can see their scheduled leave and their balances on demand. ACA reporting - I upload employee hours and do very little else to get this important compliance task done. Benefits open enrollment - used to be a huge problem to track down all the forms but now it's all done through the GoCo portal and it reminds employees to complete it before the deadline. EDI feeds send benefits changes to our benefits providers (this is still in the works for one of our providers but until it's done, we still have the GoCo Benefits Sync reminders sent to me and our insurance broker so nothing gets missed!) ### 29. GoCo also audits the systems to ensure that data matches before payroll is processed to ensure that issues are addressed proactively instead of reactively.
