I recently tested Mailchimp for about 3 days to explore how it improved over the years. I used Mailchimp several years ago and moved to another company because at the time, it was too basic for what I needed. Off the bat, I liked the ability to connect a wide range of tools. And my emails did not end up in the junk/spam folder. That did not change. For those who like email and form templates, they have a huge assortment to choose from. I like there is an app I can download to view performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Intuit Mailchimp Email Marketing? I was not a fan of the tiered plans. The limitations on their lower-tier plans feel more restrictive than what other companies offer at the same price point. It almost make the plan useless. "Nickel and diming the add-ons", can be expensive. Billing could definitely be less complicated. For the design option, "create from scratch", I had to manually remove the default customizations, which I thought would have been a blank space. That was a little annoying as I had to manually remove the default customizations. I wanted to send a one-off campaign highlighting a new digital product offer. I found a template I really liked. I wish the UI/UX was cleaner as I had trouble making changes to the template. I had to figure out how to make basic changes, like the font, etc. It was not as straight-forward as I would have liked. I also do not like the 'double dip' charge where you are billed for customer segmentation; meaning if a subscriber subscribes to more than one list, you are charged for each list. Finally, I did not like that they said I could test without a credit card, then on the very next prompt, they asked for my credit card information. That disconnect left a bad taste. Mailchimp is very easy to use. They give you prompts while you are setting up a campaign and instant tips on refinement. A new aspect just added is instantly setting up an SMS campaign to go with an Email campaign. It's also super easy to make a template, use it for a campaign, copy that campaign and tweak the design without having to create several templates that are almost the same. Now that email and SMS are integrated it is easy to keep track of contacts and engage them. The important performance stats are right there in the list view. There are also automated prompts to quickly send again to non-openers. The pricing is very reasonable and support is a chat click away as well as a significant help desk forum to look up answers. They've made so many improvements in the last 12-24 months. The only thing I would recommend to them is to make it easier to reinstate contacts that have accidentally unsubscribed or bounced due to server issues. All our customers are B2B so it isn't like we're emailing strangers, these are all partners that rely on receiving our emails and many are not computer savvy. Mailchimp is our main way of keeping in touch with our B2B partners, when they added SMS it really increased our ability to reach them. We have many partners who prefer the text messages over emails. Before using Mailchimp our email provider was not as reliable and many of our emails ended up in spam. Mailchimp made it easy for us to become a verified and trusted sender. Mailchimp has been a real time-saver for launching a new brand. It's Artificial intelligence automatically pulls a lot from our website and helps generate branding, design, and content-focused campaigns. We can not only create email campaigns, but also launch ads, social media posts, and landing pages, which keeps a lot of our marketing operations organized in one platform. The email template section is especially strong because it automatically updates many templates based on our website’s brand colors, logo, and other elements with AI, which cuts down a lot of the UI design work. With automation, we can build advanced drip nurture campaigns with multiple conditional points to segment and mark leads accordingly. The reporting is also helpful, since we can see detailed conversion metrics and data like CTR and open rates. On top of that, we can post to social media using the email content, which speeds up the overall content publishing flow. What do you dislike about Intuit Mailchimp Email Marketing? While it offers many features and functionalities, it can become very costly once you start using the premium options. Compared to other email marketing platforms, it feels expensive. Also, for those who only need an email marketing suite, it may come across as cluttered and overkill. The Mailchimp virtual assistant is very helpful when it comes to launching complex campaigns or fixing automation flow issues, because it eliminates a lot of manual research. With its in-built form, we created pop-up forms to attract website users and convert them into leads, which increased conversion by 10x. We also connected form submissions to automated email sending, which improved the customer experience by 21%. Creating dedicated audience segmentations made our marketing outcomes more efficient, since we could easily create content and launch email drips for specific audience segments only. The UI is intuitive, and it’s easy to navigate even for users who are new to EDM services. Creating mailing lists couldn’t be easier. Best of all, the delivery rate is high! Onboarding from another platform is also seamless with the help of the FAQs. I am also using its transactional email service, and the setup process is exremely easy and fast. It is the simplest to use email editor and audience management I have come across. The tag system and custom fields are easy to build and there are good personalisation features. Integrations are pretty good with Zapier working well with a suite of other options - it does have some useful native integrations we have used too. The software generally works well with few bugs. The App is a bit buggy, otherwise that would be useful. Pricing is okay and is cheaper than some of the big CRMs who offer email marketing, but not the cheapest on the market. Support is okay, but there is little need for support usually. AI features aren't anything that adds much. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Intuit Mailchimp Email Marketing? The pricing is expensive, however it is good value compared with some of the bigger CRMs with marketing packages. They don't really innovate that much, but they did improve the editor a couple of years ago which has streamlined making and templating emails quite a bit and good conditional logic inside the email too. What do you dislike about Intuit Mailchimp Email Marketing? They’re a little bit too secure, which can be a good thing, a bad thing, or both for me. Even though my information is very secure, I tend to forget small things and I have short-term memory issues, so it’s kind of hard for me to always get into my email when I forget. Mailchimp makes it easy to launch and manage email campaigns without overcomplicating things. The templates + drag-and-drop builder help me move fast, and audience/segments + automations are strong once you set them up. Reporting is clear (opens, clicks, performance by campaign), so I can actually iterate instead of guessing. Overall, it’s a reliable “get it done” platform for email marketing. Pricing can scale up quickly as your list grows, and sometimes it feels like key features are locked behind higher tiers. A few parts of the UI are not as intuitive as they should be (especially automations), and the editor can be a little limiting if you want pixel-perfect layouts.
