Lacerte Tax is great for tax professionals who want to get tax returns completed in a fast and efficient manner. You should have some idea of how to prepare tax returns and the tax law, since Lacerte does not guide you through a zillion questions like TurboTax does. Lacerte Tax assumes that the user has some idea what they're doing. This year there was a change made to program updates that were far less intrusive and frustrating so no time was lost spent on waiting for the program to update. Also, a change was made so that once you logged into one year of Lacerte there were 2 other years of programs that did not require you to log in as well. In addition, not limiting the program to time out after 30 minutes of non-use is also a huge plus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Intuit Lacerte Tax? Support is hit or miss. Sometimes you connect with someone who knows EXACTLY how to solve the problem and sometimes you don't. When you don't find that person who knows, you end up spending a lot of time on the phone trying out things that don't work. It's very frustrating! Also, I called within the past week because of a program bug and I spent over 1 hour on the phone, on hold, while the tech tried to reach someone who knew programming. That's uncalled for! I had to hang up so my issue was never solved and we had an incorrect tax return to deal with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is Intuit Lacerte Tax solving and how is that benefiting you? Making it easy to keep on top of when returns are due and who's filed and who hasn't. The implementation of SafeSend was also a fantastic and useful feature for us this year especially since the turnaround to received signed authorizations took way less time than it used to. Over time, Intuit Lacerte Tax has added features that have made it more efficient to use. One of my favorite features is the scan and import function—it saves time and is very user-friendly. The disposition import feature hasn't added much value for me personally, as I find it a bit time-consuming to set up. For me, Intuit Tax solves the problem of manually entering large volumes of client information and calculations, which reduces the risk of human error and saves a significant amount of time. I have been using it for the past 10 years and it is so user-friendly. Automatic updates are such a plus, form viewing is convenient, plus more. There are some features that can be a bit tedious. Support can be slow at times. They are not very open to incorporating suggestions from prepares, but raise the price every year. However, it is still worth the money. One suggestion would be a way to track invoices and build a report based on that. Lacerte offers, in my opinion, the most user friendly experience for tax preparation. Whether you are experienced and know how each and every form should be prepared. Or a beginner and still learning the forms and prep. Lacerte offers an easy to use program with very helpful forums to navigate the program, to make sure you client gets the very best work. The one downside i would like Lacerte to address in the future is an ability for Lacerte to implement a data input program for lower level employee's or even interns. If Lacerte would be able to add a function to their current software that would be purely be inputting W2's, 1099's, etc. that would translate directly into the program. I’ve been using Lacerte Tax for over 10 tax seasons now, and it continues to be one of the most powerful and reliable tax preparation solutions available for accounting professionals. The software is incredibly comprehensive, covering even the most complex individual and business tax scenarios with ease. Extensive form coverage: Lacerte handles a wide variety of federal, state, and local tax forms, making it perfect for firms with diverse clientele. User-friendly interface: Despite its depth, the interface is intuitive, and navigation between forms and clients is seamless. I'm always able to speak to a customer service rep who takes the time to see that any issues that come are resolved. I've been using Lacerte software since 1989 when I first started preparing tax returns. The program was easy to learn and handles complicated tax issues. Set-up is easy; there are no complicated steps to go through and usually only takes me a few minutes to download the new program each year.
