## About Intezer
Intezer automates the entire alert triage process, like an extension of your team handling Tier 1 SOC tasks for every alert at machine-speed. Intezer monitors incoming incidents from endpoint, reported phishing pipelines, or SIEM tools, then autonomously collects evidence, investigates, makes triage decisions, and escalates only the serious threats to your team for human intervention. Power your SOC with artificial intelligence that makes sure every alert is deeply analyzed (including every single artifact like files, URLs, endpoint memory, etc.), detecting malicious code in memory and other evasive threats. Fast set up and integrations with your SOC team's workflows (EDR, SOAR, SIEM, etc.) means Intezer's AI can immediately start filtering out false positives, giving you detailed analysis about every threat, and speeding up your incident response time. With Intezer: • Reduce Tier 1 escalation, sending only 4% of alerts on average to your team for immediate action. • Identify up to 97% of false positive alerts without taking any time from your analysts. • Reduce average triage time to 5 minutes or less, while giving your analysts deep context about every alert to prioritize critical treats and respond faster.

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

What I liked most about the Intezer analyze online program was its scanning speed and the result it gave in seconds. Also that it is in web format and is accessible from anywhere

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

What I liked least about the Intezer analyze online program is that it has a high price. There are other analyzers that may not be complete but similar and free.

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solved the problem in my company of some suspicious word documents in the mail. Thanks to your trial I solved this. I recommend it for those who frequently use parsers.

 ### 2. A very good tool for malware analysis

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

I like how intuitive the user interface is and how clean everything looks, it's very user friendly

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

The only small thing that could be said is that the scanning itself takes a while.

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I wasn't sure if my computer was virus free but thanks to this tool I could make sure it was.

 ### 3. Great website and application

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Naveen M. | Student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2022

I really liked the fact that I could test and sandbox different malicious files and URLs and was able to understand how they work or would affect a business environment.

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

I did not think there was much to dislike.

It helped me understand various malicious files and also gave file hashes of common files.

 ### 4. Very easy to use.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

The friendly user interface and way to upload a file. I also like the percentage that appears in the classification column.

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

I don´t dislike it, but I feel that the 150 Mb cap to upload a file is a disadvantage.

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps with the identification of malicious files and URLs found in emails.

**Official Response from Shannon McFarland:**

> Have you integrated Intezer to automatically collect files and evidence about your alerts, to handle those larger sizes and high volumes of alerts? If you still have an individual file to analyze or are using the free version just for manual uploads, Intezer also supports analysis of compressed files like ZIP so you don't hit the upload cap. Hope that helps and thanks for the review!

 ### 5. Efficient extraction of useful metadata to convey key pieces of information to different audiences.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

Code genes from extracting metadata. Useful to identify PUPs/grey aware malware that would otherwise be time consuming to extract yourself.

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

That the paid product is so expensive for individuals!!

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Efficient workflow from static to dynamic analysis of malware. This benefits a SOC analyst who will deal will malwate in different environments.

 ### 6. Intezer Products

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Military | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

From the trial I used, Intezer is a great SOC tool. It shows me exactly what information I need.

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

It's a great product, but I really think there should be a video guide for how to use the platform.

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Intezer is solving the problems of getting clustered.

 ### 7. Quick automated dynamic malware analysis

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Navroz S. | Cyber Incident Responder (Forensics) @ IBM Global CSIRT, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

I was analyzing a sample many virus databases did not have the hash of the specimen. Clearly, the specimen was bad. After uploading to Intezer, I found out that it was using a unique packer, it linked me to related samples and that the final result was that it was related to cobalt strike.

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

There is not much to dislike for a product that can perform both static and dynamic analysis in addition to being able to link to other common malware similar to ssdeep.

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No problems only solutions Intezer provided.

 ### 8. >Years of Cybersecurity experience on IT/OT infrastructures for international projects

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** 🕵Francisco Luis d. | Research Collaborator CVSS 4.0, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

It's a powerful tool that is easy to integrate, the results of the analysis are excellent, it is beyond of the state-of-the-art malware analysis tool that allows a deep malware research

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

I'd like to have the possibility to interact with the dynamic malware analysis and be able to tweak the OS, software etc... implemented into the sandbox where the malware detonates.

**Recommendations to others considering Intezer:**

If you are looking for an advanced tool to analyze malware is excellent but if you need a memory dump tool for malware analysis is mandatory!

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Possibility to perform fast remote memory dumps to identify suspicious files loaded into memory, manual malware analysis, and automated ones. It's is simple to execute and clarify a lot of false positives voiding alert fatigue to the SOC team

 ### 9. Quick response is key

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

Automated alerts to get low response time. Perfect for integration with other systems and threat hunting software. Can easily be learned by others in your organization and will also be a part of the whole security solution in an effective SOC. Good and current updated databases that will make sure you cover most areas. Malware analysis tools like this is used to isolate and investigate malware as it is detected on a company’s IT resources, endpoints, and applications. This is key to be able to have a serious chance to respond in a quick and fast way. Not all other tools give the coverage needed as this tool does. Detecting malware and then moving infected resources to an isolated environment is key to be able to let the show go on for the normal business. With this and good support that will always help and with good response times help you when in need.

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

Easy to rely on only automated tools cause they can't cover all possible threats. Can't ensure complete prevention against unknown attacks delivered via email attachments as an example. You still need other tools to complement. Also i feel the support for Microsoft related stack lack security capabilities that would need to get better.

**Recommendations to others considering Intezer:**

Automation is a key ingredient to focus more time on the actual business values.

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cover most of the common threats that need a fast response. Easy to overlook large scale of threats in larger organizations with multiple systems and end user workstations.

 ### 10. Amazing and simple threat analysis platform!

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

The simplicity of review and depth of analysis.

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

I was unable to pull sample code lines without downloading the sample.

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Intezer is creating an easy-to-use platform which any tech is able to utilize day after day.

 ### 11. Amazing tool to analyze malware

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tamas S. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

I really like that Intezer takes a unique approach, and shows everything you need about a malware executable on a simple page. Before I discovered it, I had to use multiple tools to do what I am able to do now with a simple single click.

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

I do not like the fact that you need an Enterprise subscription to download malware samples from reports. When I am researching a specific malware and I come across an interesting sample, I would like to be able to download it without having to buy a subscription.

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Intezer Analyze contains many useful features, for example showing related samples, strings inside the executable, and even a sandboxed behavior analysis report. It takes basically no effort to submit an executable.

 ### 12. Intezer Analyze is the best!

Analyst fatigue

 ### 15. Awesome tool for in-depth analysis

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Victor Paulo G. | Remote Technical Support Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

I am truly amazed by the scope of details that are made available after a file has been analyzed. This will for sure be my primary online tool to apply to everything that I will deploy in any system. Also, I love the UI!!

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

To be honest, I did not use the tool that much yet to find anything that I dislike or that is not working properly. I am not a programmer or a security specialist just a very curious guy that always likes to know how things work in the background!

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Check for the integrity of programs and if they trigger obfuscated suspicious behavior that would compromise a system in a negative way.

 ### 16. Stil exploring

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

 ### 17. Tried it out but don't have the disposable money

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

How comprehensive the analysis is. Also that it shows what code is shared between common binaries.

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

I disliked that their wasn't a free tier for very basic analysis to try it out.

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped me solve an issue with trying to determine why an executable was being marked as suspicious even though it was not malicious.

 ### 18. Using Intezer to analyze client laptops for any malicious content

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steffi M. | Cyber Forensic Investigator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

Intezer is simple to use. We get our interns on board with using the software, and it is extremely straightforward to them as they experience no fuss. We have projects that are time-sensitive, and we don't always have the time to properly walkthrough our interns on how to use the software when we need an answer quickly. They are able to navigate intezer on their own.

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

There's not much to dislike about this product. From all the times I've used this, I have had no issues.

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

On this current project, we are examining a business email compromise from one of our clients. It is suggested that our client had clicked on a phishing link from their emails. We received all the devices from clients and are running intezer to determine if the endpoints have any malicious content

 ### 19. Great source of information and malware analysis, and extremely useful tools and APIs!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew B. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

The breadth and depth of information on issues that fall within their window of analysis, along with well documented processes and toolsets covering a wide variety of deployed operating systems.

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

The open source tools were not as simple to use as the mainstream products, and largely accessible through API's and buildable tools that will be second nature to any real IT security professional, but this makes this not for the casual server builder or part-time web development dabbler. Which is unfortunate, as the tools on offer are well above par and they are often on the front of newly emerging phenomena, which should be of use to all.

**Recommendations to others considering Intezer:**

Their communication and provided analysis suite of tools are quickly given a test run, with early and consistent communication from the company to help you through the process.

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use the tools that they provide that identify emerging theats before others, but in tandem with a more complete and broad-ranged toolset. In this context, Intezer facilitates a part of an overall umbrella of overlapping coverage and tools so that we can be sure to be as thorough as possible in scanning and identifying threats.

 ### 20. Best tool to analyze Malware and trace it back to its origins

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

I found this tool through The PC Security Channel and thought that this tool would be really helpful when doing my malware initial assessment and analysis work.

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

Well, I don't particularly appreciate that the free plan only allows you to upload files from up to 16 mb. Maybe that file size limit can be raised and be as high as what Virus Total will enable you to upload.

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work by myself, and I try to help out the communities that I am in, which is mainly on a social platform named Discord. With how poor Discord security is against the malicious files people accidentally download every day, they will get their account hijacked. The person who hijacked that account will post malware so other accounts would get infected. I use this tool to help prevent others from downloading it by analyzing these files to make sure they are safe or not.

 ### 21. Great platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

I like scanning endpoint computers and scanning memory dumps.

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

Endpoint analysis takes quite a long time.

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My computer was infected with malware.

 ### 22. Does not allow enough freedom to properly try out the system

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

It seemed like a smooth platform and allowed for private analysis.

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

Signing up did not work and the account creation was broken. I also was not able to analyze the type of extensions I needed to make a sound decision on the platform. There are free options out there which have the same functionality for no cost.

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

N/a

 ### 23. Intezer Review!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

It is extremely easy to submit a file, URL, IP Address, or other artifact for analysis when needing to quickly determine whether something malicious has happened on an endpoint managed by one of my clients.

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

I really have not found a single thing that I dislike about Intezer Analyze up to this point. It has been a great tool and has helped in both training and real-world cyber incident response scenarios.

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Intezer Analyze to sample the analysis provided by the service on training files that are not actually malicious, and in some instances to take a file hash, IP address, URL, or other indicator and run it through the scanner to determine not just if it is malicious, but if it is to determine the malware family, known occurrences of the file in the wild, and other important information.

 ### 24. Makes My work easy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

Most of the time I reverse malware samples and It's hard to keep track of the functions that are unique to this malware where Intezer helps me to identify them not only by giving me the unique functions of that malware and also the similar functions that are used by other malware of the same family which gives me more insight on what kind of malware I am working on and how to correlate them.

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

There is not a specific thing to me for disliking in Intezer I get what I needed from intezer, I yet to try out the threat hunting api provided by intezer which I think, it will be above my expectation.

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use intezer for identifying the functions that are related to malware families out in the wild to write generic detection for the malware family and intezer makes that work easier and saves my precious time whereas manually reversing and keeping track of all the functions would take a lot of time.

 ### 25. Intezer is a good static and dynamic analyzer with amazing intersection capabilities

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

Dynamic and static analyzer, Indicators of compromise

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

Some limitations of the free version like the submission limit

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A quick search for IoCs and dynamic analysis of malware to detect C2, as well as an understanding of the main functionality of the malware.

 ### 26. really detailed compared to other websites

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

I can exactly see what a file has in it and not just something basic

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

Some files have contents that i don't really understand and it would be nice to have a description of what it is.

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Showing me if a file has a virus and what kind it is.

 ### 27. One of the most powerful online sandboxes for file analysis

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

Integration with Virus Total. Dynamic File analysis and deep inspection. Very intuitive and easy to use interface along with the ability to scan files without a paid subscription.

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

Sometimes the information can be too much and requires filtering to look at relevant data. One suggestion would be to have a section detailing IOCs and strings of interestin one place

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Intezer is a great tool for analyzing files and looking up filehashes for known malicious signatures. I am also benefitting from the process trees and strings extracted from file execution.

 ### 28. This software has helped me see what threats can do, and has made me more cautious on the internet.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

The best part about it is that you can scan files for malware before you execute them.

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

It is an overall good program. I can't think of anything I dislike.

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the problem of spending hours trying to investigate a file or sketchy site.

 ### 29. Good Solution for Enterprise Users

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

The UI was very clean and modern. Tooltips had descriptive explanations.

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

Honestly, the price points made it hard to make a selling point to C-Suite staff. We ended up passing over intezer due to that.

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

End-Point protection in an increasingly hostile cyber environment

 ### 30. Intizer Analyze is amazing and really provide context in depth

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gerald N. | Security Operations Center Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

Using the API eliminates a lot of analysis time

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

At this stage, I am not sure but I would like to see a slight increase in the amount of file scan within the community edition.

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mean time to Respond is decreased. The real benefits are with automation.

 ### 31. Complete Malware Analysis Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fitzgerald S. | Senior Associate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2022

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

It allows you to check out potential malicious software with ease, and you can check every change it made to a system. Additionally, it has a nice layout which makes it great to work with as well!

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

I cannot find the number of plans they offer, in the first instance it seems like I should contact support for this. However, I personally use the free plan, which works perfectly for me as well!

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I personally work with servers and other computers on a daily basis. It happens a lot that potential malware is found. Instead of needing to test a lot of things, I can upload this to Intezer, and look if it made malicious changes.

 ### 40. The best tools

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel P. | Auxiliar de Segurança da Informação I, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2021

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

Few tools have excellent service, even for accounts for free. My experience was very satisfactory in this tool, and it has a great design, very intuitive. One of the parts I liked the most was the integration with various systems it and very objective documentation.
We performed some tests as hash analysis, and the results were very satisfactory, and for improvement, we saw that integration with the total virus and Cortex helped us a lot to address this threat dictated below
I didn't like the value of premium subscriptions. In my case, I found it very expensive, and it has many limitations for the free account. My recommendation is to lower the price to attract more people to tools, so try it without any financial problems

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

I didn't like the value of premium subscriptions. In my case, I found it very expensive, and it has many limitations for the free account. My recommendation is to lower the price to attract more people to tools, so try it without any financial problems

**Recommendations to others considering Intezer:**

I will recommend this tool because I thought it very efficient, even more for a second malware analysis

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It used in an attempt to deal with a Dridex Malware attack. we had difficulty seeing the codes of the malware in the other tools.
we were able to compare malware hashs with other hashs that intezer analyze provided.
we were also able to download the codes to perform controlled tests.

 ### 41. Threat intelligence and endpoint analysis made easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** rodrigo c. | Threat Intelligence Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

I was baffled by the analytics insight on the malware files that were presented to me. Things that I had to spend one or two hours to analyze before is just three clicks away now.

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

The integrations seemed a bit off to me. I wish there were more options or open-source tools since I deal a lot with open-source projects.

**Recommendations to others considering Intezer:**

Suppose you want a tool that makes the threat intelligence activities effortless and less stressful. You have to test Intezer out. It is the only tool that I have enjoyed most of its content so far. I have tested many of them. However, none would meet all of my requirements for both static and dynamic malware analysis.

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem that I am solving is the time-consuming side of malware analysis activity. With Intezer, it has become easier to obtain further insights regarding contaminated files. Other than that, files that were very hard to analyze due to obfuscation is now very easy to receive pieces of information about it.

 ### 42. Clear and complete tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julien C. | Étudiant à temps plein (Bachelor Cybersécurité), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

Intezer is realy simple, easy to use and very complete.
For me the execution tool and the summary right after are incredible and one of the best part of this soft.

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

Nothing to be honest, the gui is pretty cool, simple as always and everything is well explained.

**Recommendations to others considering Intezer:**

I never opened a support case so my answer is n/a

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I understand which use of function and which system calls was flagged by antivirus. In the case of my studies, it was really really helpfull.

 ### 43. Amazing software analysis and endpoint protection experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabriel M. | SOC Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2021

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

I could analyze and retrieve excellent pieces of information through the scan of possibly compromised endpoints. Also, a could get insights into the actual behavior of malware files. Making the whole activity of malware analysis a lot more fun, exciting and engaging

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

I felt that the integrations should be more straightforward, and having more options for integrations in the future would be awesome. Also, improving the capabilities of the free version or even extending the trial period would be much appreciated

**Recommendations to others considering Intezer:**

It is a fantastic tool to complement or even substitute the malware analysis tools you are currently using. It provides an excellent user experience, even if you don't have a lot of experience with file analysis and endpoint protection tools.

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am solving a massive problem with reverse engineering complexity. Being able to analyze the file deeply with the GUI is of great help.

The main benefit is the gain of time, since I can dedicate more of it to activities that are more laboural. For example, creating firewall rules or scanning endpoints for malware.

 ### 44. Detection function of malicious files in laboratory tests.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marcelo P. | Analista de Segurança, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2021

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

The user experience as a whole from first contact to file analysis (in a simple way), integrations with good market tools such as Cortex XSOAR, Fortinet, Splunk, among others.
Hash analysis also works very well and the integration with VirusTotal (and the possibility of community analysis) helps a lot.
I found that somehow there is integration with the Palo Alto Firewalls (I still haven't figured out how) but it will be quite an implementation if I manage to integrate Intezer to send analysis/intelligence results.

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

Safari and Internet Explorer browser could be supported with a plugin, in addition to Google Chrome (already supported).
The free account is good, but has some limitations. And the premium account subscription is still a bit expensive, especially for small businesses and/or home users.
The Upload File option allows files of maximum 16MB only.

**Recommendations to others considering Intezer:**

I would recommend others who want a simple tool option that does a fair-to-good job of threat analysis to take a look in this tool.
For people looking for a tool that parses reasonably good threat information, I recommend this tool.

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed a tool that would guarantee a good cost/benefit and be robust in identifying threat information.
We recently identified an executable from the Mirage.gen family on a customer's network.
This family of malware is known to spread through spear-phishing campaigns (targeted phishing attacks, typically to executives with high administrative privileges within a corporate network).
Once compromised, a system can have its data stolen, start having successive interruptions in its processes or end up being part of a botnet (network of infected computers commonly used to perform distributed denial of service attacks), losing control of it completely.
Note: When Mirage is run, the original file copies itself to a folder in “C:\Documents and Settings\<USER>\” or “C:\Windows\” and deletes the original file.
After the initial copy, Mirage starts the newly created file and exits the original.
The newly started copy creates registry keys to ensure the system remains infected after every reboot.
Note: Hackers using malware like Miriage use tactics to hide the identity of their C&C servers.
One of the most used tactics is the use of dynamic domain name system (dDNS) domains for callbacks to C&C servers. dDNS providers (eg Dyndns.com) allow anyone to register for a free third-level domain (eg Checkip.dyndns.org) and only require a valid email address, which is kept confidential .
Using Interzer helped me in the beginning of the search that resulted in this information about the file found on the network.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Intezer?**

The site allows drag/drop of the files in question and accepts files of any type for analysis. Does a complete analysis of the malware. Shows threats that are currently out there.

**What do you dislike about Intezer?**

So far I haven't found anything that I dislike, but I haven't been using the site that long. I wish the site could be funded, so it was completely free to use by IT Departments.

**Recommendations to others considering Intezer:**

Just use it, and you will see the benefits.

**What problems is Intezer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most issues are verifying that we have found a malware file. The biggest benefit is only having to go to one site for analysis and seeing the current threats. This website is on my list of Must Check and Review Everyday!
