Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Intervals? As with many others, the inability to easily create recurring tasks is a nuisance. You have to create a project template and copy it afresh every month. Some enterprises that like to track time but do recurring work on a retainer need this kind of feature. Also tasks are costed according to a cost per task. Whereas this is ok for small projects, it lacks sophistication. Some professionals (like us) cost work on the basis of the person carrying out the task. This is because a task often requires a "kit" of different inputs. These include the person doing the basic work, their supervisor and the quality reviewer. These people cost differently and jobs could vary in cost depending on the level of input which then enables us to identify which resource was used more. If the quality reviewer/ manager spent more time, it would make it easier for us to identify this fact and try to find solutions for the next time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering Intervals: It's a low cost solution if you need to track time. However it is not able to provide mandatory accounting for time i.e. to compel users to account for a whole work day. It is project based rather than time based. However it can do the job with a few administrative workarounds. A pain to use if you have recurring tasks. You can't attach costs to individuals - only to tasks. This is only ok for some work. I needed a checklist to ensure that all the tasks required to deliver a complex deliverable - monthly accounts - have been done and that there was approval of such tasks. It's important to be able to show clients that the work was done. It's early days still but I feel that it has helped to systematise adherence to required procedure and provide confidence in our processes. As only a user I love and mostly use time submission, I love the option where you can copy time from previous entries, and I love where is my time going functionality which crunches all the time entries for desired time span, split by projects . Sometimes it can get confusing, i saw how assigning to projects looks and a lot of times I have no idea where are simplest functions, like add remove people from the project or the task. Being able to mass transfer projects to the next month would be great. Starting to look a bit outdated especially with the influx of newer options for client management. Our software developers can write plugins to improve Intervals' integration with various other tools. What do you dislike about Intervals? It is hard to get a sense of all projects on-going at once, from the big-picture level. I hate that tasks and comments "disappear" in the project history. (E.g., I would like to see a way to turn task/comments into summary that would turn into a project note. When a task is closed, valuable information from that task and the comments goes away.) Also, I wish there were a preview function for documents. I don't want to download them all! And one of your questions in this survey mentions issue tracking ... where is that??? I want to use it!!!! It works well when you have a small number of similar projects. Intervals is a tool, and the tool only works as well as the process you have set up. It is not the solution to your process problem. We face the problem of handling many different types of projects – some that have a day-ish turnaround, and others that can last 9 months to a year. My absolute favorite is the ability to create timers to track my work. Even if they are for specific tasks or generic ones. I just find them super useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Intervals? My team does not use Intervals as the main project management tool, we use it more as a management reporting and accounting tool. As such, I find it very lengthy to add a new timer description. I need to specify the project, module, work type, etc... Time tracking is something I don't want to spend time on, and is you sum up all the small chunks of time used to report a new time interval, it can be significant. We appreciate your feedback about the timers. One tip we recommend for faster time entry is to run timers on a specific task. That way, only the work type has to be selected when applying the timer. The project and module will be inherited from the task. It's great to hear that Intervals has helped increase revenue. We've heard this feedback from a few of our customers and it always makes our day. It took me a while to figure out how to turn off getting emails because I was both the owner AND the assignee of a task, so my only interface with Intervals was dealing with all the emails I'd get until I could close out a task. I love the way you can create a task, assign, and then drag and drop to change dates it is due. I like the way you can set up Clients then projects. The reporting is great. Would really be great if there was a mobile app. Especially for updating time...it just isn't that user friendly. The tool itself just feels and looks a bit dated...like I am using an old tool. Not something new and modern and for that reason I would be less likely to recommend it as I would with tech savvy people who like to look at visually appealing tools It would be great if there was a way to save "templates" for when you keep creating the same tasks with the same to do lists. We just the check mark bullet a lot in our tasks. Would be good if we could set up "reoccurring" tasks rather than moving it every week. Or closing a take and reopening every week. For example we have a priorities for the week task that we close each Friday and reopen every Monday. Would be good if setting up the "profile" could have more flexibility as we have information we like to include here and we have to copy and paste a template in every time.
