Intershop has a lot of built in features and has a powerful backoffice where you can administer and configure a lot of the different aspects of the shop. It is easy to build new features on top of the platform and deploy them together. This is especially useful for smaller teams who don't want the hassle to configure and manage your own microservices. Although Intershop has a lot of features, it is not really possible to make the platform smaller in case you don't use all its features. Backoffice allows the user to do a lot of useful stuff on the shop, however the UI and look and feel are not really intuitive and its hard to use in respect to more modern commerce engines. ICM is a very flexible software that is easy to use with it's iStudio development environment. It's highly customizable and with help of the service framework, integrations of external platforms like ERP, CRM, Search Engine, ... can be done fast and easily. The customer support is awesome. The ICM has grown and changed over the years. Sometimes there is more than one way to implement something. This is good on the one hand, but the problem is the documentation (knowledge base). The platform is dependable and the support is awesome. As a partner, we have a feeling that there is no feature that we couldn't implement on the platform. For clients, the platform gives an impression of security, it is robust and safe. I believe that is the biggest comparative advantage over other trending platforms on the market. 1. it has a very rich set of features out-of-the-box, from the basics to very complex B2B scenario's. It's is all there.

2. The various options to customize the platform to meet the business requirements.

3. The way Intershop introduces new capabilities, expecially today with AI.

Not a great suite for analytics for customers or orders, we have to build everything a la carte. Not great if utilizing as a CMS an eCommerce platform only.
