The best thing about IntelliJ IDEA is its intelligent code assistance—features like smart code completion, deep code analysis, and powerful refactoring tools that make development faster, cleaner, and less error-prone. "The Best IDE for Android Development"
5/5
What do you like best about IntelliJ IDEA?

I rely heavily on IntelliJ IDEA for creating Android apps in Java and Kotlin. It solves many pain points for me, such as code auto completions, editing multiple files, and providing access to various AI-powered agents that help increase my coding speed. I appreciate that it offers facilities for development, testing, and deployment of projects all within the IDE. What I like most is the debugger; it helps debug issues much better than any other IDEs out there, allowing interactive breakpoints and reading values on the go during debugging sessions, along with precision-guided hints. Following the official documentation while setting it up helped me run my projects without any challenges. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about IntelliJ IDEA?

I use IntelliJ IDEA mainly for Java development and building software projects efficiently. It helps me write, debug, and manage code with features like smart code completion, error detection, and integrated tools for version control. I also use it to work on backend development, APIs, and small projects, as it makes coding faster, cleaner, and more organized. I like its intelligent code assistance and overall developer-friendly experience. Features like smart code completion, real-time error highlighting, and quick fixes help me write cleaner code with fewer mistakes. I really appreciate the powerful refactoring tools, which make it easy to improve and restructure code without breaking functionality. The built-in debugger and seamless integration with version control systems like Git save a lot of time and keep my workflow smooth. IntelliJ IDEA feels reliable, smart, and well-designed for productivity. The initial setup of IntelliJ IDEA was quite easy and straightforward. Installing the IDE didn’t take much time, and the setup wizard made it simple to configure basic settings. Importing projects using Maven or Gradle was smooth, and most features worked well out of the box. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IntelliJ IDEA?

While IntelliJ IDEA is a powerful tool, there are a few areas where it could be better. It can be quite resource-heavy, especially on systems with limited RAM, which sometimes affects performance. The startup time can also feel a bit slow for large projects. Additionally, some advanced features are locked behind the paid version, which may not be ideal for individual developers or students. Improving performance optimization, reducing memory usage, and making more features available in the free edition would enhance the overall experience for me.
