"Very powerful and flexible educational platform"
4/5
What do you like best about Instruqt?

It makes our workshops and labs very manageable, and its tracking abilities are first-class. It is very flexible in the way you can adjust trainings to multiple platforms, audiences, schedules etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Instruqt?

We had issues with scaling, and attendee surges. Tracks weren't adapting properly to new logins. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Sean Lauer of Instruqt

Thanks for the feedback! Happy to talk further about scalability. Please reach out via Slack to set up a time, if desired.

"Amazing Lab Platform"
5/5
What do you like best about Instruqt?

Instruqt has allowed us to take hands-on labs to the next level.

- All content is authored in Markdown

- Possiblity to integrate with SCM (e.g. GitHub)

- Lots of UI tuning (HTML/CSS, columns, tabs, etc.)

- Notes act as slides before challenges

- Versatile check & solve scripts

- The CLI allows to easily manipulate tracks and view logs

- Webhooks lets us extract data and trigger external automation/integration

- Invites are very practical to plan events such as webinar or workshops Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Instruqt?

- Track state management can be a bit cumbersome (ID vs slug vs checksum)

- Lack of groups/folders to organize tracks

- Track update workflow is not very simple Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best virtual lab or workshop environment around"
5/5
What do you like best about Instruqt?

Instruqt is a great tool for us as it allows us to provide our learners with the appropriate environment and instructions whether for a live event or an on-demand session. It's helped us provide examples in our documentation, in our online education and for our in-person events that are practical and hands-on. It's a key element in the learning experiences we offered on all topics MongoDB. The team there are always able and willing to help when the odd problem arises. We have a genuinely scalable and delightful learning environment for all types of our learners, and we are really happy with our partnership with Instruqt. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Instruqt?

I have little negative to say on Instruqt as when we do hit a bug or issue, they fix it ASAP. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Sean Lauer of Instruqt

Thanks for the feedback! Glad your team is having such a positive experience with Instruqt!

"Great tool for training new and experienced users with hands-on exercises"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Instruqt?

Instruqt has been a very useful tool in creating training exercises for enabling users on a database designed for data-intensive applications. Instruqt makes it easy for me to deliver hands-on, real-world learning experiences that allow students to engage deeply with the material.

I love the ability to create multi-node clusters. It allows me to demonstrate complex setups like self-hosted environments without needing extensive hardware or cloud resources on the students' end.

It's easy for students can run actual commands in a real environment, giving them a deep and practical understanding of concepts without the headache of setting up their own machines.

Another huge advantage of Instruqt for me is it eliminates the stress of ensuring prerequisites, versions, or installations are in place for every student. I can focus on teaching rather than troubleshooting setup issues, which lowers the stress of my training events.

I must also mention the customer support has been great so far. Whenever I've had issues, I've been able to get quick responses and troubleshooting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Instruqt?

One area where I’d love to see enhancement is the interface for quizzes. A richer, more interactive quiz design would elevate the learning experience even further. That said, this is a minor concern and doesn’t detract from my current use case. It would be great if we could deliver our entire training including videos and quizzes, but there are other tools that host curriculums. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great platform for hands-on training that saves trainers from unintentionally becoming IT support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Instruqt?

- The client only needs a browser—no pre-configuration, account setup, or personal keys required. This is a huge advantage for showcasing product features directly without worrying about installations or setups, significantly reducing friction. This has probably been the largest win in adopting Instruqt

- It has a modern look and enables easy interaction with multiple terminals, advanced functionality without the cryptic interface

- Their team is very collaborative and great to work with; direct communication on Slack makes problem-solving easy, no hoops to jump through

- We use their platform 3-4 times per week, almost every week

- The ability to provision Kubernetes and Cloud accounts (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.) allows for managing complex scenarios without becoming the infrastructure sysadmin Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Instruqt?

It’s not so much a “dislike” as it is a “we want more of this”—if we could have more LMS functionality directly in Instruqt, it would save us from having to wrap it and let us use it as our primary LMS platform without intermediaries Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A great solution for product demos, sandbox environments, worklabs, live webinars etc."
5/5
What do you like best about Instruqt?

Creating online trainings or certifications is always a cumbersome process. You need to make sure that students have the proper equipment and proper software versions. Instruqt avoids all these problems completely by offering a cloud native way to launch sandbox environments on demand. You can use these environments for product demos, employee onboarding, customer scenarios or even certifications/training.

Instruqt provides a very easy and intuitive way to create your own environment from scratch or use one of the existing ones. I really liked the fact that Instruqt had support for Kubernetes environmets out of the box.

Creating a course and publishing to the world is straightforward and you can use either the friendly User Interface or the powerful command line tool they offer. Previewing a course is instant with a simple button click.

I also love the integrated testing facilities that automatically verify the correctness of the course.

They recently added the capability to create your own container images for your courses, improving considerably our startup times.

They also have a new feature (hot-start) that allows you to prelaunch your Virtual machines before a live webinar. This is great as our students do not have to wait at all if the VM is already there for them :-) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Instruqt?

The product works well so far. We are missing some features such as a marketplace for Instruqt images, but we have already talked with Instruqt and say that this is planned. I think that adding a marketplace will make the product even more enticing especially for non-technical users.

The new image creation feature has some minor limitations if you want to use multiple hosts in a single worklab (there is also an open ticket for that as well) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Leader Hands-on labs platform"
5/5
What do you like best about Instruqt?

Instruqt has changed how our company delivers training, demos in conference booths, or even POVs with prospects. It helped us craft and simplify complex environments and demos into a simple package that others can reuse. Now, other departments contribute to the creation of new hands on labs and they understand the value that training us for our customers and the whole company. They also have an exciting roadmap with new product features that we are eager to incorporate to our practice!

I still won't change a comma of what I initially said in this review:

Right now, there is no other competitor providing the high crafted service of hands-on labs for customer training. I like all the automation that we can create for our labs. At the end, this enable us to define with great detail the practice experience we want our customers and prospects to get with our product. Our team did quite an extensive analysis of other alternatives and there is no other tool out there providing the features Instruqt has right now. Also, Instruqt roadmap is promising. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Instruqt?

Realistically I don't see a thing I don't like about their features. During the last 4 years, they have improved their product in all areas, and there's no real alternative to their service out there. If I move to another company I'll push to adopt it as our training platform both for selfpaced and ILT content. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Instruqt provides a high-quality, low-friction approach to familiarize users with LaunchDarkly"
5/5
What do you like best about Instruqt?

The best thing about Instruqt is all tools/tabs are contained within a single window. Attendees aren't required to switch between browers or even bring their own logins. Overall, the presentation is very easy to use for our attendees. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Instruqt?

From a team member standpoint, there are only a handful of roles. There is no fine-grained controls to prevent members from using features not aligned with our goals. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
