"Great Value"
5/5
What do you like best about Instrumentl?

Instrumentl is a great value for our agency. Its easy to set up projects and find potential funders. I can efficiently review those potential funders with the information right at my fingertips and share the best opportunities with my ED with a couple of clicks. The weekly emails really help keep me focused on my grant work. But the best thing about Instrumentl is the team. They are responsive, cordial and truly invested in seeing their clients succeed. What do you dislike about Instrumentl?

I would like the ability to see all the potential funders for a project/programin a spreadsheet format in order to both easily review with Board members about who they might know and to look at potential funding for competing program ideas. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Brings prospect research & project management together in one space!"
5/5
What do you like best about Instrumentl?

The dynamic nature of the information (Instrumentl constantly searches for new prospects and grant opportunities - the data doesn't just sit there waiting to be found), responsiveness of product and company, the friendly user interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Instrumentl?

Based on the way I use Instrumentl (as a consultant, to manage multiple clients with many discrete projects), its current design has some limitations - namely not allowing me to manage multiple projects/subject areas under each client's banner. But the company is always making changes in response to user requests, so things keep improving. Stay tuned... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All In One Place"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Instrumentl?

Great ability to find potential supporters for the work we do. I love the ability to look up just about everything I need such as past funding history, 990 info and links to the website all in one place.

Receiving emails with NEW matches is terrific.

Finally, the responsiveness of the Instrumentl team to questions and challenges is fantastic. I appreciate that the team continues to be actively adding and improving elements of the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Instrumentl?

I’d love to have the ability to add custom search parameters when narrowing down prospective grants for niche projects. I’d also like to narrow down potential grant choices with advanced parameters such as ease of application and reporting for us very small nonprofits who don’t have a lot of resources or time.

One additional helpful service would be a section with places to go where we can sign up for ongoing contributions such as the Combined Federal Campaign. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Instrumentl is the ONE!"

What do you like best about Instrumentl?

Instrumentl is our go-to grants research portal. As a seasoned grants writer, I have used many databases for grant searches, and by far - Instrumentl has the most comprehensive listing of grants and funders available. As a health system, our front-line services are in desperate need of funding, and countless times, we have found opportunities through Instrumental. It's not just a tool; it's making a real difference in the lives of its customers. This is the one and only system you need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Instrumentl?

Getting a lay of the land and what the tool can be used for can be a little confusing, but once you connect with Instrumentl folks and understand the platform, there are no hesitations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Instrumentl Is the Only Grant Tool You'll Need"
5/5
What do you like best about Instrumentl?

Instrumentl is a one-stop shop for grant management. I love the ease of the interface, the practically real-time updating, and the ability to add data from previous tracking tools into one place. It's perfect if your team works remotely, and the customer service is top-notch. Again, real people answering in practically real time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Instrumentl?

The only suggestion I can make probably applies only to freelancers who work for multiple organizations. The Master Tracker combines all projects into one, which is fine if you're a sole organization, but if you're a freelancer, it forces you to have to filter all the time. Perhaps there can be a preferred or "favorite" option for the default tracker. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Instrumentl?

I love the 990 breakdown. The ability to see the percentage of grants given to new grantees and the median amount awarded is invaluable information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Instrumentl?

I wish that the due date for an LOI was included in the search function as oppose to solely the due date for the full proposal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Instrumentl allows me to be very efficient with my time!"
5/5
What do you like best about Instrumentl?

The listings of potential funders include both Foundations and Granting agencies, so I can just go to one place to see what potential funding sources are out there for a project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Instrumentl?

I have found nothing that I dislike. I like the new 990 analyzers to help weed through the new awardee versus repeat awardee and the average award. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Enjoying Instrumentl"
5/5
What do you like best about Instrumentl?

Like best is when creating new projects to add keywords and filters to have similar grants be sent rather than having to research for them. Instead, they are sent to us to make it easier and faster to review. Like the option to like or follow a funder and see the other grants they have out. And having the grants on a list and sorted by the months make it a lot easier to know when grants are due. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Instrumentl?

The only thing is when you mark a change on the grant you have open and the list resets to the top. Then have to re-scroll to where was to continue going down the list for reviews with our team. Other than that there is nothing else that I dislike about it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Instrumentl is a great tool for nonprofits and grant professionals"
5/5
What do you like best about Instrumentl?

Instrumentl puts everything I need in one place - grant research, grant tracking, to-do lists, deadlines, leads to new funders. Competing platforms do some of these things; Instrumentl is the only one I've seen that does all of them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Instrumentl?

Having everything in one place is also, in some ways, the biggest bump -- it means you have to get used to the way Instrumentl organizes information, and that's a little bit of a learning curve. Clicking on alerts to new funding matches doesn't immediately show you the new matches, for example; you're taken to the page, but there are still additional steps to see the matches. It's not a big deal, but it would be nice if that weren't the case. It also would be nice if the document functions could integrate with something like Google Docs or Dropbox. "An excellent grant resource for any nonprofit"
5/5
What do you like best about Instrumentl?

The platform is intuitive and easy to use. Robust features make finding grants, researching grantmakers, and tracking applications very simple. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Instrumentl?

The number of new matches can be overwhelming and additional filters would be great to reduce grant matches to the truly viable ones. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
