What do you like best about Insightful?

What I like best about Insightful is how easy it is to use on a daily basis. The dashboard is intuitive, the features are well-organized, and it quickly becomes part of your regular workflow. The reports are detailed yet easy to understand, making it simple to see how time is being spent and where improvements can be made. Their customer support has also been helpful whenever questions come up, responding quickly and ensuring everything runs smoothly. What do you dislike about Insightful?

The main drawback is that some features lack the level of customization we’d prefer, especially when adjusting or filtering reports. While the platform offers a strong set of features, a bit more flexibility would make it even better. It can also take some time to get fully comfortable with certain parts of the reporting layout. What problems is Insightful solving and how is that benefiting you?

"Clear, Practical Visibility That Boosts Small-Team Productivity"

What do you like best about Insightful?

What I like most about Insightful is how clear and practical it makes things for a small business like mine. Running a small team means I need visibility without micromanaging, and Insightful helps me understand how work is flowing, where time is being spent, and where we can improve, all without adding extra admin or pressure on the team.

It’s helped us stay organised, improve productivity, and make better decisions based on real data rather than guesswork. I also appreciate that it supports accountability while still trusting people to do their jobs, which is important for our team culture here in South Africa. What do you dislike about Insightful?

As a small business owner, one thing I don’t like about Insightful is that it can feel a bit overwhelming at times. There are a lot of features and data points, so getting the setup right took longer than I expected, especially since we don’t have a dedicated tech person on our team.

The reports are useful, but I sometimes wish they were simpler and better tailored to small businesses rather than larger companies. It would also help if customization were more straightforward—for example, being able to adjust dashboards quickly without having to dig through a bunch of settings.

That said, once everything is set up properly, it works well overall. There’s definitely a learning curve at the beginning, but it becomes much easier to use after you get past that initial setup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Insightful solving and how is that benefiting you?

Insightful is helping us address a long-standing challenge: not really knowing, day to day, how time and productivity are being managed across the team. As a small business, we don’t have layers of management, so it used to be hard to spot bottlenecks, workload imbalances, or where projects were starting to slow down.

Now that we have clear visibility into how work is progressing, we can plan more effectively, distribute workloads more fairly, and step in to support team members when they’re overloaded—rather than only realising there’s a problem too late. It has also strengthened accountability and focus without requiring constant check-ins, which saves time and reduces stress for everyone.

"Great for Productivity Tracking but Needs Better Chrome OS Support"

What do you like best about Insightful?

I like that Insightful helps us see if the employees are working. The initial setup was really easy; it was just a matter of clicking the link and logging in, and everything was set up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Insightful?

I have issues with Insightful marking employees as idle during meetings after ten minutes, which affects accurate productivity tracking. Also, it doesn't support Chrome OS, causing one employee to be unable to use Insightful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Setup, Stopwatch-Like Interface, Uninstallation a bit troublesome"

What do you like best about Insightful?

What do you dislike about Insightful?

I wasn’t able to uninstall it properly, not until I emailed support to get an uninstallation file. From a security perspective, that feels a bit fishy to me: first I couldn’t remove it cleanly, and then I had to install additional things just to get it off my system. On the uninstall: that usually comes down to how an organization sets Insightful up and which operating system you are using. We get why the extra step felt off, though, so that's understandable to flag.

As for screen recording - the feature is built with security and privacy protection in mind, same as everything else we make. The specifics of how these are deployed sit with your organization, so they're the best ones to walk you through exactly what's configured.

What do you like best about Insightful?

I love the intuitive, user-friendly interface of Insightful. The platform features a clean and tidy user interface that makes navigating through various metrics and reports straightforward, even for team members who aren't tech-savvy. The logical navigation structure ensures that related features are grouped intuitively, with attendance data, productivity metrics, and application monitoring clearly separated yet easily accessible from a central dashboard. This design greatly reduces the learning curve for our management team and administrators. Onboarding new managers to the platform is efficient as they can quickly understand how to access the metrics they need without extensive training sessions, saving time and resources. The initial setup of Insightful was very easy, with the support team assisting all the way. What do you dislike about Insightful?

There are some reporting capabilities that could be enhanced to better meet our needs. Specifically, we would benefit from more granular export options for application and usage data. What do you like best about Insightful?

I use Insightful for time tracking, which provides transparent time recording of working hours. What I like most is the shift system, as it lets me see the time breakup and activity. It tracks the activity and time spent on each application used, adding to its transparency and efficiency. Also, the initial setup was easy, thanks to the simple process of joining through a link and downloading the application. There's a lot more under the hood: spotting which hours create the most value, understanding what your top performers do differently, and finding where small tweaks unlock real gains across the whole organization.
