What do you like best about Insightful?

What do you dislike about Insightful?

What do you like best about Insightful?

I mainly use Insightful for its screenshot capabilities, which was the primary reason for my purchase. The ability to log screenshots in increments of up to 30 seconds is particularly valuable for monitoring problematic employees who might try to work on personal projects while at work. I also found the initial setup very easy. I've already recommended Insightful to someone who is now using it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Insightful?

The fact that users are automatically added rather than needing to be manually approved is a problem. If I only want to monitor certain employees, then I should not have to pay for more, simply because they use the same device. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Hi Philip,

The word "predatory" is a hard one to read, so let us start there... We genuinely don't want anyone feeling that way about how Insightful bills, and we're sorry it came across like that for you. To say it plainly: we only ever charge for what's actually used (the employee license count), how this works is laid out up front in the Insightful app when clients sign up to prevent future misunderstandings, and there are real safeguards built in to make sure no one pays for users they didn't intend to keep.

Two of those safeguards are worth a closer look. The merging function lets you combine multiple user entries into one. So if a single person works across ten devices, all those entries can be merged into one billable license. And user deactivation puts credits back on your account when you deactivate someone, so you're not overcharged.

The auto-create behavior itself isn't there to inflate bills - it's there so work gets tracked accurately when multiple people share a device (or one person uses multiple devices), and so admins running thousands of users aren't slowed down approving every single seat.

You have our word: we're not going to take money from you for usage that wasn't actually yours.

All that said, we hear you on the manual approval piece. A notification, a grace period, or some kind of admin sign-off before a seat counts - that's a legitimate ask, and we've passed it to our product team as something organizations are calling for.

What do you like best about Insightful?

I use Insightful for tracking team productivity and managing projects. I like how Insightful allows me to monitor all my employees, see what they're doing, and make sure they're staying productive. I'm particularly fond of their AI reports integration and the ability to specifically choose which websites to monitor. I also appreciate how you can track mouse inputs and key inputs to ensure that employees aren't using any unauthorized tools. Additionally, I value the accuracy of the data provided, which helps me verify that employees are actually doing their work and being productive. What do you dislike about Insightful?

I have an issue with time zones on Insightful. We've been told you can have different configurations for different time zones, but we have teams working in India and the United States. I really like how quickly the support team responds at Insightful, they replied to my queries very quickly and sorted everything out perfectly. I've only used Insightful for about twenty to thirty minutes so far, but it works perfectly. I also like that I can measure all the work and progress clearly. I find Insightful valuable for monitoring the activity of our remote staff and cross-checking time card clocking. Its ease of use is a strong point for me. The daily report synopsis offers a helpful at-a-glance view, and the ability to drill down into the details of program data is invaluable. I particularly appreciate the utilization and productivity view for understanding each staff member's capacity, which is beneficial for staffing, project availability, and training decisions. On wanting more training to get the fullest read on that data, the good news is there's plenty already in reach: a thorough help center, a best-in-class AI support bot, and a set of product tours to deepen your understanding whenever you want to dig in. As for the 'i' for each category, you might be pleasantly surprised: There are actually explanatory tooltips throughout the app doing just that, so a lot of that clarity is already sitting right where you'd want it.

I use Insightful to track hours for work done for Mercor, and it provides accurate and reliable tracking, so I don't have to rely on my memory and risk getting underpaid. What I like most about Insightful is that it's very easy to use. The platform is accessible and can be used by anyone without requiring a lot of technical skills to get started. The initial setup was super easy—I downloaded the widget, installed it in a couple of minutes, logged in, and could start using it right away.
