The user interface is a little hard on Mac computers. Quick keys like using Ctrl to Scale proportionally, as well as using the space bar alone (without having to click the mouse) to pan across art are somewhat confusing. It's free, and pretty easy to use. The interface is intuitive for the most part, and darker themes are available to be easier on the eyes. Coming from a non-expert user, the only con I can see is if you're a serious designer looking to make a career for yourself, you'll probably want to skip Inkscape entirely and heavily familiarize yourself with Illustrator ASAP. Robust enough to get the job done and simple enough to use without a ton of program knowledge. Inkscape has many features to create simple SVG or very complex SVG files for the more detailed designs. Previous version struggled with the MAC OS but the newest update has removed most of the bugs for me! Very happy with that upgrade.

The only "dislike" here is possibly the original learning curve to use the software. Computer savvy people who are familiar with similar programs like photoshop cs, elements or the like will have no problem adjusting to this program.
