From my point of view, Inkscape is an excellent free tool that allows you to vectorize image files and convert them into vector files that you can export in different formats. The software offers powerful tools to generate the output file tailored to your needs. In my case, I have used it to generate gcode files to engrave logos, shields, drawings, etc., with both professional machine tools and 3D printers adapted with a "maker" philosophy to be able to use them for engraving on wood or similar materials. In general, there is nothing specific that I dislike about Inkscape, but if we compare it with other similar commercial software, one might miss some tools that automate the vectorization of more complex images. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
