## Inkscape Reviews
  ### 1. Free, Open-Source Vector Editor with Strong SVG Support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

The best thing I like about this Inkscape platform is that it is a free and open-source vector graphics editor equipped with strong SVG support. It is very helpful for our team right from creating logos, icons, illustrations, diagrams and other scalable graphics without spending a lot of money on expensive design software tools out there. This platform also supports key vector design features like paths, shapes, text, gradient layers, node editing, bitmap facing, and PDF importing and exporting as well. I also like how this platform works very effectively for SVG-based design works, for example, for web graphics icons and UI based asset, this platform helps us to create clean, scalable visuals that do not lose any quality even when it is being resized.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

This platform's interface might feel slightly outdated when compared with other modern design tools, and at the beginning, newer users may also take some time to understand this platform's tool panels and editing workflows, specifically if they are coming from a simpler design-based platform. Some users also mentioned that occasional performance issues occurred, and there is a complex learning curve for advanced features in it.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This platform solves the problem of having a professional vector design tool without a paid subscription. This platform also helped us by creating and editing scalable graphics for logos, icons, marketing assets, web visuals and other print-ready designs. Since it supports SVG-based files in their native form. Their output visual is very effective for websites, applications and digital risk workflows. It also benefits us by reducing design software cost while still giving access to powerful vector editing features for quick edits and icon creation, and PDF-based design work. This platform is a very productive and practical tool.

  ### 2. Solid Utility for Basic Industrial Drafting, Limited on Complex Designs

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jaidee A. | Senior Industrial Process Engineer, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

This free open-source tool cuts down ongoing software expenditure perfectly suited for daily engineering sketch tasks. All vector artwork maintains sharp, precise details no matter resizing, fitting printed workshop guides and formal technical documentation well. Agile path and shape tools support quick adjustments to equipment arrangements and production flow layouts. Rich export choices guarantee smooth file circulation inside the firm, with customizable styles conforming to local industrial drawing standards.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

The program runs sluggishly when handling intricate multi-part assembly drafts. It has no native dimension marking tools compliant with German industrial design criteria. File importing and exporting with mainstream industrial CAD tools frequently generate format mismatches. Missing parametric design functions hinders repeated fine tuning of high-precision mechanical component drawings.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It serves as a cost-effective alternative to pricey design programs for sketching equipment layouts and process schematics. Scalable graphics avoid distorted visuals in onsite application. Fast drawing revisions unify design cognition among cross-department staff, meanwhile created safety graphics satisfy industrial regulation demands and simplify technical file archiving procedures.

  ### 3. Free To Use, Easy mode of Vector Creation.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Harshit R.

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

I like Inkscape for its simple and easy-to-understand UI and icons that clearly indicate the function of each tool, which made it easy for me to learn even as a beginner. I also appreciate the Bezier Tool because it provides the flexibility to make desired curves and change shape styles easily, which is essential for my vector animations. I love that I can freely upscale or downscale my vectors without worrying about pixelation or quality loss, thanks to the SVG format. Inkscape efficiently handles my tasks without the need for a pricey subscription, which is why I switched from Adobe Illustrator.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

I personally feel that Inkscape lacks some advanced level tools that Adobe Illustrator offers. I particularly don't know the names of them because I have used Illustrator very less, but few of my friends have told me that they don't switch to Inkscape because it lacks many tools. I particularly don't know the exact name but features like to turn any vector from 2D to 3D by giving depth, like it's done in Adobe Illustrator, and definitely, it's one of the most wanting features I need, and also another feature which could be added is to map things on top of other shapes.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can freely upscale or downscale my vectors without worrying about pixelation or quality loss, saving me time.

  ### 4. Feature-Rich and Free, But Needs Some more Features.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sonelal R.

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

I like that Inkscape is totally free to use and has all the necessary features of Illustrator software. It provides scalability of vectors and logos without losing quality. It's easy to use, with all the necessary tools available and it supports the SVG format, which gives me the power to scale my logos and vectors to any size without losing quality. It's very easy and beginner-friendly, and I never experience lagging or crashing.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

I find that Inkscape misses the Gradient Mesh feature, which is a must in illustration software. Also, Free Transform is not available. Inkscape should add these features and work on implementing something like perspective transform.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Inkscape is totally free and provides necessary features like those in paid software. It allows scalability of vectors and logos without losing quality, supports SVG format, and is easy to use with no lagging or crashing.

  ### 5. Easy to use but not for printing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

It’s easy to use, and the interface feels familiar if you’ve used other graphics programs. There’s also plenty of documentation online for when you’re not sure how to do something. I also like that you can create multiple pages within a single file.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

It isn’t suitable for preparing files for print. It only works in RGB and doesn’t support CMYK mode, and it also lacks Pantone palettes. It tends to crash unexpectedl and becomes slow when there are many linked images. It does not open all vector file formats.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me create new vector graphics or modify existing ones, make simple illustrations, and develop project ideas that I can later turn into print-ready graphics.

  ### 6. A Great Free Tool for Beginners in Vector Design

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

I like that Inkscape is completely free and still gives me access to powerful tools for vector graphics. It’s great for creating logos, icons, and illustrations without needing expensive software. The interface has a lot of familiar tools, so even as a beginner, I can figure out how to use shapes, colors, and text to make designs. I also like that there are many tutorials online, which makes it easier to learn step by step.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

Sometimes it feels a little slow, especially when I work with larger files. The number of options in the menus can be overwhelming at first, and it takes time to understand where everything is. Also, compared to paid software like Adobe Illustrator, some features feel less polished or harder to find.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Inkscape solves the problem of needing an affordable way to create vector graphics. Since it’s free, I don’t have to invest in expensive software to start learning design. It also lets me create scalable graphics like logos, flyers, and illustrations without losing quality when resizing. **What do you like best about Inkscape?**

I love that Inkscape is a powerful vector graphics editor that is also user-friendly and easy to use. It has a wide range of features and tools that allow me to create professional-quality designs, and the interface is intuitive and straightforward. Plus, it's open-source and constantly updated, making it a great choice for both beginner and advanced designers.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

One thing I dislike about Inkscape is that it can be quite resource-intensive, especially when working with large or complex designs. This can cause my computer to slow down or become unresponsive, which can be frustrating. Additionally, some of the advanced features can be a bit confusing or difficult to use for those who are just starting out with vector graphics design. Overall, these are minor issues that can be easily overcome with a bit of practice and patience.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Inkscape is solving the problem of needing a powerful and user-friendly vector graphics editor. It offers a wide range of features and tools that allow users to create professional-quality designs. The interface is intuitive and straightforward, making it easy for those new to vector graphics design. This is hugely beneficial for me as a designer, as it allows me to create high-quality designs quickly and efficiently. The open-source nature of the software means that it is constantly being updated and improved upon. Overall, Inkscape is a great tool that helps me to achieve my design goals more efficiently and effectively.

  ### 17. Great vector editing / drawing program for free use

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian W. | Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

For a free program, this has really been useful. I primarily use it to edit existing vector files for use in producing laser-cutting files and turning SVG files into editable PDF files. Those features alone would make this a valuable program, but there are so many more features that I have yet to explore.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

The one feature that I do not like is when you select individual lines, the way it selects it is within a bounding box, and even if it is only a stroke with no fill, it indicates you can change the fill color. These make it a little harder to manipulate existing files.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As mentioned prior, this program allows me to edit PDFs that I receive and produce laser-cutter files without requiring an expensive vector editing program. This program also allows our business to take SVG's that are not directly editable and turn them into PDFs that we can utilize in other programs.

  ### 18. Looking for a powerful yet free vector designing tool, Inkscape! is your savior

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ghulam Mehdi D. | Research Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

It is a free and open-source tool made especially for budding graphic/web designers or illustrators who cannot afford expensive software like Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

There are a few issues with this tool common ones that I face include; Can't read/edit .eps files that are actually very common vectors around web and it also doesn't support multiple artboards. Apart from being a mostly tutorial-dependent tool, its UI needs a bit more attractiveness.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is free! the biggest advantage. For me, I can't afford the expensive tools of Adobe for illustrations, so Inkscape is my savior. It takes some time to get used to it, but does a decent job.

  ### 21. A free tool that can help you on

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gian Pietro D. | Specialista in marketing digitale, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2016

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

It's free and open, i no need any licence to use it for my business. I used it on Windows, Linux and Mac with the same simplicity.
I think that the function "vectorize bitmap" can be very helpful for made some vectors starting from an image or a photo.
You can find a lot of projects made in SVG format that is the native format of Inkscape.
If Inkscape will be developed in some bug or limitations will be a strong alternative to a professional suite.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

You can't export a jpeg but only on png that is boring if you need to use it on web, as you know png got more properties than jpeg but is bigger.

You can't open a project with more than one pages, if you need to create a book o something with more than one page, you have to create a SVG file for each page.

Works only with RGB, needs CMYK implementation.

**Recommendations to others considering Inkscape:**

A free tool that can be helpful for creating graphics content!

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't need any licence to use it on my business, i work as a freelancer, i made graphics and banners for websites, facebook, and other social networks.
I use Inkscape in many different S.O without encounter any issue. I began to use it on Linux, then in Linux and now i'm using it on Mac. Inkscape with Gimp can be an alternative suite for graphics designers.

  ### 22. Good, but not in my top 5

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda M. | Manager of Operations & Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

I do like how familiar most companies are with inkscape. It has multiple uses and switches between programs easily, like blender or Microsoft expression. It is a good program, but there are others I just prefer over this one

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

I would have to say my biggest like with inkscape is there layout. It's not the most user-friendly if you don't know what you were jumping into. You need more than basic knowledge to begin using the program

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's hard for me to answer this because I only use inkscape when I'm on my spare laptop. I used to use it more often but recently I just have found programs I personally prefer better. Again it is not a bad program at all, I just prefer to use different ones the majority of the time.

  ### 23. Great featureset for free!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charles C. | Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

I love the feature set that comes with Inkscape. It mirrors many of the tools that other expensive vector drawing applications have, but for absolutely free! The tools that allow users to cut, subtract, and add vector shapes together are exceptionally robust.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

The main issue with Inkscape, of course, is that it's not Adobe Illustrator. Many clients prefer to work with designers who use the gold standard of software, and as good as Inkscape is from a feature and usability point of view, it simply isn't Adobe Illustrator, and that's an issue for many. Having said that, from a features or usability perspective, Inkscape has no problems at all.

**Recommendations to others considering Inkscape:**

There are so many rich features to explore! The Pathfinder features are genuinely better and easier to use than Adobe Illustrator.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Inkscape has allowed me to create icons and illustrations without paying for an expensive Adobe subscription. I can save my organization a relatively significant amount of money by using free alternatives to the Adobe suite.

  ### 24. Best Free Software to edit images

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rashish M. | Design Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

Best features to add layers on the making of catalog, I think Inkscape is the best for me to create logos and edit images. Free software with lots of features rather than paid softwares.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

I don't think there is any downside of Inkscape, but I would suggest improving selection criteria in images. I wish to see some exciting features in the new updates as always they do.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Inkscape is the best logo and image editing software, best advantage for me is Inkscape is free software. you can use all features without limitation so you can add this software in as many as system you have, In this way your productivity will increase drastically.

  ### 25. Helpful but Challenging

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Arts and Crafts | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

Some of the tools on Inkscape are quick to learn and easy to use. Change a jpg to and svg by selecting the object and tracing to bitmap. Then you can easily export it as an Inkscape svg or plain svg.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

Other tools can be challenging to figure out how to get it to work just as I'd like them. Maybe it's because I'm using Inkscape on a Mac and it's primarily built for pc's.

**Recommendations to others considering Inkscape:**

Definitely try it before purchasing another vector program! It has almost all of the capabilities you need and you can't beat the price.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a free program that credits editing and adjustments for what I would otherwise need to purchase and learn a vector program.

  ### 26. Easy to pick up software for creating your own drawings

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** AbdulRahman N. | Technical Project Manager, Aviation & Aerospace, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

The simplicity in picking it up and then being able to use it to decent level. Also for something free, its very capable and the scope is not bad at all

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

Generally I cant fault it, any limitations are normally due to my own ability

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am creating my own digital drawings and bringing my art to look a little more professional

  ### 27. Streamlined App for Vector linearts

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jay B. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

I like that it's free, but offers most if not all (at least, for my business) features of an industry standard program like illustrator. Also like that you can drag the pen lines to make adjustments

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

A couple features are less intuitive, but a Google search helps. Most of the features are there but the icons aren't the most descriptive sometimes.

**Recommendations to others considering Inkscape:**

Don't give up on it if certain features aren't immediately apparent, Google search if innovator has the feature, but jus hidden.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Needed a cheap and simple vector line art software, and even though I now have access to illustrator (which I only open for reliable image trace) most of my templates remain in Inkscape

  ### 28. Best light weight software for graphic design

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Neeraj J. | DevOps Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

The best thing about Inkscape is how lightweight it is, it runs very smoothly even with less than 4 GB RAM and fills almost every need of a graphic designer for small projects. also, it is open-source and available on every platform.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

The thing I most disliked about Inkscape was that it had very few and limited fonts. also, some functionality can be improved

**Recommendations to others considering Inkscape:**

Inkscape is a very useful tool and very good alternative to adobe illustrator if your computer has low specifications or you use Linux. so go for it if u are looking for some lightweight graphic editor.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using Inkscape to Design pamphlets, posters, and logos. Inkscape is time-saving because I can work on it from any system even with low specification laptops. I don't need to switch between systems to use it.

  ### 29. Best free Vector Editing Software Around

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Taylor T. | Designer/developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

Its price point of being $0 is the most enticing part of this product. Being someone who only needs to edit/create SVGs occasionally, I don't really need a premium Adobe product because I find it a bit overkill.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

Inkscape's UI feels a bit dated at times. Just navigating the different tools feels a bit cumbersome at times, and getting started with Inkscape and learning a workflow required many Youtube tutorials. The official Inkscape guides feel a bit too barebones at times.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having to edit or create logos or icons for my organization has never been easier. It's not too often that I need to do it, but a lot of knowledge from other image editors can be transferred over, so actually having a finished image is relatively quick!

  ### 30. Good Illustrator Alternative

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospitality | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

Since Adobe isn't supported on Linux, I had to do some research and was very happy to come across Inkscape. The software takes some time to learn, similar to any other software, but it's a great alternative for vector graphics.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

The biggest downside for me personally, after using Adobe products for several years, is the shortcuts are very different. As an artist and professional, shortcuts are key to being quick and efficient.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'd say I'm solving business problems by creating artistic solutions in the ways the businesses request. I've realized the main benefits of Inkscape are the ease of use (once you've gotten past the learning curve) and the customization options.

  ### 31. Best software for vector graphics

  ### 32. Design whatever you want with InkScape.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peter A. | Legal Advisor, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2021

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

InkScape is a tool made in free software (which allows it to be used and improved by a thriving community of users), whose main objective is to be a powerful and comfortable drawing and design tool that is highly compatible with XML, CSS, and SVG file standards. It has within its different arsenal options that are effective and capable of competing with other proprietary software tools. It has a friendly and intuitive interface that closely resembles other consumer tools on the market. At the behavioral level, you can say that it uses computer resources optimally and effectively, without saturating memory in your computer. It is available in most repositories of the different Linux distributions out there.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

There are few things about InkScape to highlight as unfavorable or that I don't like. I feel very comfortable with these tools; however, there's no perfect software, so I can mention things like that some agencies are limited; this if we compare it with other proprietary software that can be much more powerful and effective. Although obviously, all this has room for improvement, it is a detail that should be taken care of more. Another point to highlight is that it does not have a preview of effects and filters; something essential to take care of the finish of your designs more effectively.

**Recommendations to others considering Inkscape:**

I highly recommend it. Inkscape is a viable and valuable option for Free Software users and even those who are not, since You can also use it from operating systems such as Windows.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Inkscape is a powerful tool in its own right. It has helped me to produce designs in an efficient, effective, and appropriate way to what my clients have asked for. In a very minimalist setup, but that gives you just what you need, I have been able to find a way (thanks to its options) to be able to digitize what I have in mind and be able to translate it into the computer.

  ### 33. Free version of Adobe products

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

Number one I enjoy that it is free. I have enjoyed using this to make SVGs for projects.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

A little difficult to use at first but many tutorials to teach you to use

**Recommendations to others considering Inkscape:**

Great tool if you are just getting into vector designs.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No problems

  ### 34. Considering it's open-sourced, it's one of the best out there

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anurag K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

* Huge variety of extensions supported.
*100% free and community-based.
*Covers Advanced vector editing features.
*Ability to trace images to vectors.
*Can be seamlessly connected with Openshot to create beautiful, gradient-based effects in the text used over videos.
*Used with with CANVA and GIMP, this will be all that you need if you are someone like me who designs occasionally and that too for business purposes only.
*For starters, tutorials are available on youtube to get started with basic vector editing.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

*If you are a MAC user, the recent rollout is damn slow. Windows version is seamless though.
*Limited export extensions can often land you in trouble as most printers (at least in India) will ask for CDR format whereas Inkscape will help you mostly with SVG and PDF.
*The colours supported are HEX and not CMYK. So when sent for print, some colours might appear to be something different altogether. There are online tools to change colour codes but none of them is effective.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I design marketing collaterals over it. Depending on need and season of the year, this includes Visiting cards, Brochures, pamphlets, flex, standee, ID cards and a lot more. For specific marketing campaigns, we even design calendar once a year on it. Most of our efforts in Inkscape are complemented with Canva as we do design heavily for printing purposes. Canva helps in brings multiple exports from Inkscape to live and also helps in making those exports viable for printing purposes

  ### 35. A wonderful program low valuated

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Juan Miguel L. | Inversionista en Xifra, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 30, 2020

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

This is one of the best programs to edit images and to create new lines inspectors and edit everything it's actually one of the best programs I ever try

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

Some commands are quite confusing and authors are like difficult to understand

**Recommendations to others considering Inkscape:**

Be patient and read all the tools in the tools board and try everyone before start work because if you have to hurry it will not work well

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have to reduce the size of an emerging you know like reduce the quality to compress the image because it was too big so I used this program to compress the image and it was a very good idea and it worked pretty cool

  ### 36. Inkscape Has a Multitude of Uses

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anisa M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

I like that you can import all kinds of different files and use them all together to make one thing. I also like that you can change the colors on all files that you import into the software.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

I don't like that I have to save the project I'm working on my computer as an SVG and then separately export it as a PNG file. I would like to save it and export it as one file, not two separate things. It also does this weird thing where when you export it everything has to be showing on the screen or else it will export it cut off. Like you can't export it if it's zoomed in because it will only export what is showing on the screen.

**Recommendations to others considering Inkscape:**

I recommend you look online for an easy guide to work it. While it is easy you should know a few things before you get started including navigation.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Inkscape to design t-shirts. It's a live saver when it comes to changing colors and editing SVGs. I made a watermark in five minutes and I can create mock shirts quickly. I'm saving time and money when I use Inkscape for my work.

  ### 38. Simple and open source vector graphics software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Silvana P. | Graphic Artist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

Inkscape an open source software. You can use it professionally at no cost to create logos, illustrations, and more. I also like it because you can save images with transparency. In addition, it supports a wide variety of image formats that are well known and are also compatible with Adobe.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

The main reason I dislike Inkscape is that it doesn't allow me to export CorelDraw projects. I also consider its user interface to be unsightly.

**Recommendations to others considering Inkscape:**

I really like everything that can be done with Inkscape. This software offers you tools whereby for other programs you would have to pay 100 or more dollars a year in licensing.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Inkscape allows me to adapt my design settings to work comfortably. It is of great value to my organization, since it does not generate any license cost. I mainly use it to create vector graphics. Also, it allows me to save images with transparency.

  ### 39. SVG Application for illustrators

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dr. C. Michael S. | Research Coach, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2020

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

What I like best is that InkScape is for producing the purest SVG images. Since I work with various applications that import svg images, I have discovered that even Illustrator does not export SVG images without extra code that interferes with importing.
Being a FREE application doesn't hurt either - that is definitely a plus. Lastly, it isn't complex as some other application when it comes to using it. Of course, this usually means fewer tools, but I am able to use it as it is.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

I dislike that InkScape's installation acts as a stand-alone versus part of my computer. This has been frustrating because I will install, then have a virtual installation disk on my desktop and when I delete it, the application is gone also.
As I stated in the things I like, it is very simple. There are times I want to accomplish a task and find that I spend more time figuring out how to do so with this application versus just having the tools in front of me.

**Recommendations to others considering Inkscape:**

If you are not used to vector applications, you will need to review some videos online to get started. Don't allow yourself to get too frustrated, it has a learning curve, but is well worth it - especially for a free application.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My primary use of InkSkape at this time is to convert pngs to SVGs in order to import them for 3D manipulating - then print the completed model. It has been the perfect solution for these steps that are required to to prior to the exporting .stl files for 3D Printing.

  ### 40. The useful tool for small business

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mehmet K. | Senior Analyst, Computer & Network Security, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

The arrangements you can make with this Open Source software are exceptional and the quality is reasonable. You can easily create all the graphics required for banners, games and animations for your websites. It is possible to export to favorite file formats, save images with transparency and even create DXF files.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

The software does not have many graphic updates and has a stereotypical appearance.

**Recommendations to others considering Inkscape:**

It is a prsaatic software for creating icons and designs for laser cutting plans and images. Compatible with many file formats today If you want to create precise plans, Inkscape is primarily a drawing software, so it can do your job.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows users to do almost anything they want to do with vector graphics.
Creating quality logos, icons or diagrams without an effective graphic design background is easy with this software.

  ### 41. My vector go-to app in a pinch

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David B. M. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2016

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

The interface is intuitive and functional. Tools are accessible and efficient. The output has been useful in every case. The ability to create custom strokes allows the generation of very organic brush strokes. The use of templates lets the user create a document that includes all of the necessary components to compose consistent artwork.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

It's not that the functionality of Inkscape is complex, but the interface has a steep learning curve in order for the application to become efficient. I'm not a fan of the color palette at the bottom of the window. It would be nice if the buttons that call up the layer and other palettes would act as switches and close them also.

I use a Wacom pressure sensitive tablet and Inkscape does not seem to perform well in the pressure sensitive area. Users can mimic pressure sensitivity through the use of custom brushes, but it is limited and the process is somewhat cumbersome if a user wants a variety of brushes in one illustration.

**Recommendations to others considering Inkscape:**

Use it and give it a chance. It will do the job.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Inkscape is a very good logo design tool. The trace tool is very controllable and allows me to fine tune and adjust tracings. I have used it to create and manipulate logos, trace poor logos and then generate hi-res logos for clients, and I am currently working on a process by which I can create a vector-based comic strip that a friend and I have created.

Inkscape has benefited the bottom line of my business by not taxing my limited resources. It is a must for small graphic arts businesses.

  ### 42. Inkscape is powerful software for graphic design. Free and simplistic

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sharon F. | Graphic Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

Inkscape makes it easy to create high quality layouts as it has wonderful built-in printing and colors tools. It is a software that is constantly updated, which is an advantage. Another feature I like is that it doesn't consume as many GPU resources and runs fast with no hassles. The best thing is that it has a very light GUI.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

Sometimes I have tried to undo many changes to images and Inkscape does not restore all the modifications made.

**Recommendations to others considering Inkscape:**

I highly recommend Inkscape because I have used it for some time and I consider it a very complete graphic design tool. Take advantage that you can download it for free.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Inkscape is a tool where I can easily create banners and logos for our real estate agency for free. The best thing is that I can export the graphic vectors to PNG formats.

  ### 43. Inkscape is a free vector graphics creation software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darwin R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2020

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

Inkscape allows you to create images and vectors in a simple format. The main advantage of using this software is that it is completely free and works on different operating systems. Another feature that I like. It has a really simple measurement tool that meets its purpose. I also like their filters for colors or to give effects to images.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

The appearance of the Inkscape user interface is not modern. I would like the tools to be better organized on the screen, since sometimes I find it difficult to find the options I need for editing.

**Recommendations to others considering Inkscape:**

It is free software that will help you design and draw vector graphics at no cost. I recommend it, especially to beginning users who are taking their first steps.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Inkscape to create content images or logos for our website. This software has filters and effects for images that provide professional editing at no cost, so I consider this to be the greatest benefit. Also, it is light software, so you don't have to worry about having your computer have powerful resources.

  ### 44. Great free tool to create vector iamges

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

It has the ability to convert pngs to vector images

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

Sometimes it does not convert the image to a vector correctly

**Recommendations to others considering Inkscape:**

This is a powerful tool, but it is still free so there is some limited functionality.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been able to create vector images that we can use for various marketing products.

  ### 45. You get what you pay for.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** J.D. W. | Digital Content Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

It's free to use, and offers mostly comparable features to Illustrator.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

Frustrating, unintuitive interface.
Doesn't support .eps files.
Hard to execute certain features that were easy to do in other software.
Text feature doesn't recognize majority of my TrueType or Google fonts.

**Recommendations to others considering Inkscape:**

If it is your first time using it, be patient. the interface for many of the features is not like Illustrator, so you might find it harder to do things that came easily in Illustrator. You can still do them, though, just be prepared to access the community for advice a lot. There are many tutorials online on how to get Inkscape to do the stuff that Illustrator does, so look over what you need.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Due to financial issues, I cannot afford many of the top Vector software, so Inkscape is my go-to program for logo and vector graphic creation. I create my vectors and then export them as either PDFs or JPGs for use in other applications. I basically use it for almost everything.

  ### 46. A graphic Vector program, free, good design and easy to use.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jaime P. | Ingenier, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

This graphics editing tool allows you to design, edit, draw in 2D with good quality. It is compatible for different platforms, allowing everyone to access it. Its use has no cost, it is full of very good tools such as bitmap tracking, Drawing Tools, shape, calligraphy, pencil. You can use different files in various types of formats, such as bmp, jpg, eps, tif and others.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

Since its platform is totally free, few are the things that I personally dislike because it is a requirement for a multifunctional tool, in some cases it is usually heavy due to the amount of options that are around the worksheet something that can be annoying , but in a matter of minutes it returns to normal. It would be very much that the regular updates can add some modification to that error.

**Recommendations to others considering Inkscape:**

My recommendation goes to all those who wish to have a tool to edit, at no cost Inkscape is the ideal, it will not give you problems and you can take advantage, even if you are inexperienced. They will give you very good results.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am honestly not an expert in the field of design, editing or anything like that. But it has helped me to edit Pdf files when I need it, it has also allowed me to make prototypes of how I want the presentation of a software so that the person in charge of the matter will come and carry out my initial idea.

  ### 47. A tool for Linux users for designing and a substitute for Adobe photoshop

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

There are a lot of file formats that can be imported into Inkscape such as SVG, PDF, JPEG, and PNG. I like how easy Inkscape is to use for illustrating and designing vectors. Inkscape is comparable with Adobe Illustrator, but for free.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

The major drawback while using Inkscape is that it oftens lags or crashes on low level computers . It makes quite difficult working on high resolutions illustrations.

**Recommendations to others considering Inkscape:**

A good tool for vector designs a perfect alternative for Adobe photoshop if it is not supported on linux systems.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it for the creation of logos, creating infographic templates.

  ### 48. Very light and useful software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

I like its mapping feature, it's really helping me to map out from watermark objects.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

It's hard to find the tool bar option when it accidentally removed.

**Recommendations to others considering Inkscape:**

Use this software very light to use and fast.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It really helps me to figure out a watermarked object bu tracing the outline accurately.

  ### 49. Best free vector tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Denise H. | Planejamento, Fiscalizacao de obras e Administrativo, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

This is my most essential apps to work on because I can develop all kinds of projects for my customers. Without a loss of quality, all works can be modified in style, size and any function. In addition to being fully accessible and free, it's an immense supporter to me, and the best feature on Inkscape is undoubted.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

Now the leading consumer they're searching for is someone who has earlier worked with Adobe Illustrator or another comparable software, but not something that difficult makes me turn down Inkscape, with the alternatives being somewhat familiar and touched on, careful to do all.

**Recommendations to others considering Inkscape:**

This tool is suitable for you if you're short of money and don't have a softness that is not user-friendly, like Adobe Illustrator. I can say all the alternatives and characteristics have the same.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Inkscape's significant issue is cash expenditure correctly in my company. This software enables us to produce projects for our customers of the same or higher quality that we can at no price in Adobe Illustrator or similar.

  ### 50. Inkscape is capable of things you wouldn't expect from free software.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Phillip S. | Director of Digital Media, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Inkscape?**

I love the accuracy of bitmap tracing. I use Inkscape primarily for tracing small graphics to turn them into vectors that I later edit Adobe Photoshop. The auto tracing ability of Inkscape is easy to use, and the settings are easy to tweak to get good results. Much easier than trying it in the expensive Adobe Illustrator.

**What do you dislike about Inkscape?**

The user interface is cheap and very 90's looking. Obviously that's not a deal breaker for me. I use it for the functionality. But it does remind you of Windows 3.1 Microsoft Paint. But hiding behind that ugly user interface is a powerful piece of software.

**Recommendations to others considering Inkscape:**

If your primary need is taking graphical elements and creating vectors that can be scaled to fit your needs, look no further than Inkscape. Don't let the $0 price tag scare you off! You have nothing to lose by giving it a shot.

**What problems is Inkscape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Inkscape has allowed me to take small graphical elements and vectorize them for use in large print projects, as well as t-shirt designs. As long as the original graphic has enough contrast to help Inkscape detect the lines, it will do a great job. Of course it works best at making black vector PNG files which I later hand color in Adobe Photoshop.
