## Informatica MDM – Product 360 Reviews
  ### 1. Mixed feelings about the initial experience

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Informatica MDM – Product 360?**

It is notorious among the specialists in the business and preferable and most recognised set of tools for the major companies.

**What do you dislike about Informatica MDM – Product 360?**

There are other tools such as Ataccama that have much better user experience for developers and flexibility to work faster and more efficient. Probably they are more cost effective too. However Informatica products maybe more reliable and with more history behind it which could be a plus for the companies using it. There is no doubt that these are powerful and recognised tools.

As far as personal experience with the Informatica MDM tools they are sometimes really rigit to use. Especially for some very common tasks. I also feel that the creativity part is someone restricted too.

The one thing that I most disliked were the Informatica MDM courses and final examination which didn't meet my expectations. Especially the test. So I don't truly recommend them. I found the test for the certification to be very subjective with a lot of unprofessional (maybe even wrongly asked and wrongly scored) and dubious questions that feel detached from the course materials and the product essentials. You might find yourself scoring almost 100% on difficult questions and important matters and on fields that you feel are pretty straight forward and you know them best you might reach extremely low score and wonder how it might have happened. Something like 0-20% which could cost you a lot in the end result for the test. This is due to the fact that a great number of questions look quite fancy and you don't know what they exactly mean. Even though you might be quite familiar with the material and implementation yourself you might question the logic behind those questions on practically very easy and/core practices within the scope. So there is a lot room for improvement on the questions to aim first and foremost to improve the knowledge of the participants and to find out which ones are ready for self-reliant professional experience.

**What problems is Informatica MDM – Product 360 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The benefits of Entity 360 is the ability to leverage the usage, the user experience and efficiency especially for collaboration between the users of an MDM solution. The MDM Hub allows for implementation of quite complex solutions on practically any potential needs.

  ### 2. Complicated Product, Complicated Relationship with Their Service

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Phil A. | Ecommerce Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 26, 2017

**What do you like best about Informatica MDM – Product 360?**

Our eCommerce platform uses P360 to build and maintain hundreds of "micro stores" for our customers. P360 is able to handle multiple distinct shops with separate inventory and allow us to provide a curated experience for our customers. When we were sourcing product information management systems, Informatica's PIMS seemed to have the most robust handling of multiple product structures for distinct customers.

**What do you dislike about Informatica MDM – Product 360?**

The platform is both expensive and incredibly complicated and I've never felt like Informatica was very invested in our success with it. We received a little bit of training from the company (and our trainers were nice enough) but it was always us asking questions and pushing for answers and never them following up and coaching us. I understand we're not their biggest account, but it's left a bad taste in my mouth because the program is not designed to be user friendly or easy to parse visually. It takes us months to train new people on it and when we have questions, it takes a long time to get responses from Informatica. It also felt like many features that should be basic required additional fees for programming/activation. The strength of P360 is maintaining many multiple catalogs that share products, but being able to change a "master" product and have that automagically cascade to all the hundreds of stores required additional programming from Informatica at a high cost. Also, in a world of multiple product pictures and videos, P360 seems to offer limit support for more than one piece of media.

**Recommendations to others considering Informatica MDM – Product 360:**

Look, my drama with their service aside, the product itself is robust and solves a major problem for our business. If you need one central place to manage lots of online catalogs, P360 is a great solution for that. Just get ready to learn it deeply and document your training well because it is a beast. And just know that you're going to have to advocate for your own training needs because no one is really going to check up on you and make sure you're making the most out of it. It is VERY easy to miss features or crucial configurations, so ask lots of questions and take lots of notes.

**What problems is Informatica MDM – Product 360 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We maintain distinct catalogs or e-stores for customers in different industries and verticals and P360 allows us to juggle all these products between catalogs so that customers see only what they want to see. This allows us to service, say, a giant contracting company building a bridge and a small power generation outfit servicing underground power lines and providing relevant, useful product content to them.
