"Fantastic research app"

What do you like best about Indeemo?

We found Indeemo to be very user friendly for researchers & participants. We could collect data from multiple participants in one go, which was really efficient. What problems is Indeemo solving and how is that benefiting you?

We conducted a relatively large study (around 60 participants) over a long period of time (one year). Indeemo allowed us to collect data in an innovative and efficient way. The staff at Indeemo were also really helpful in guiding us through the best way to use Indeemo for our particular research questions. We wanted in-depth ethnographic data which we could collect in real time, but in a covid-safe way. But even after the pandemic I will use Indeemo again, as it has many advantages as a mode of data collection. It is both responsive (ie you can request that your participants respond instantaneously to events) and reflexive (as you and the participant have time to reflect and discuss their accounts). "Keeping ethnography relevant during a pandemic"

What do you like best about Indeemo?

Using Indeemo was my first experience of a virtual ethnography platform, and I was amazed by how user-friendly and ergonomic both the participant app and the researcher online platform were. Eugene provided clear guidance on how to effectively utilise the program, and the ease of use meant no further instructions were needed. The researcher platform brings together the diverse forms of data in a rich and visually coherent manner, meaning analysis (which is never easy), becomes slightly more manageable. What do you dislike about Indeemo?

The only negative aspect of the app was specifically linked to the research project I was working on: an autoethnographic study on food during the pandemic. Conducting 'autoethnography' meant using the participant/user app to also collect textual data on my thoughts and experiences in specific moments. I feel a bit more space for writing notes on the user-app would have been useful here, but like I said, this specifically links to the nature of the autoethnography project. If I was using the web-platform to send tasks to participants, they would have no need to write extensive notes as the photographs and video diaries would provide more than enough rich data. Furthermore, the web-platform provides a huge amount of space for the researcher to write memos and notes, thereby overcoming this small issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Indeemo:

If you are looking to carry out virtual ethnographic fieldwork during the pandemic, Indeemo should be your first port-of-call. It is user-friendly, well-designed and faciliates the collection of rich data. For those who are sceptical about virtual ethnography, give Indeemo a try before you judge! Pandemic restrictions have prevented in-person ethnography, both from a legal and ethical/safety perspective. Indeemo overcomes this issue by providing the tools to conduct high-quality virtual ethnography, gathering rich data from a range of sources (photographs, videos, memos) to faciliate rich analysis of the studied phenomenon. What do you like best about Indeemo?

An intuitive way for participants to share photos, videos, and comments from the comfort of their phones. Easy for researchers to access rich information. I loved having AI transcripts, which made it easy to search across all the videos. Easy to take notes on the videos, too. One of the most compelling reasons to use Indeemo is the genuinely outstanding customer service every step of the way! What do you dislike about Indeemo?

There were a couple of minor issues with ease of searching, but they were mere inconveniences rather than anything major. It would have been nice to be able to download my notes along with photos and videos. I would also love to have been able to download the rich media files to Dropbox or Box, as the files were huge. But, I greatly appreciated that our contacts were open to hearing our concerns and seemed 100% dedicated to addressing these issues in future iterations of the platform. What problems is Indeemo solving and how is that benefiting you?

A great way to learn about a larger number of consumers than I would have been able to interview...provided a lot of insight into their attitudes and behaviors on which I could follow up in small group discussions. We are an advertising agency with a consulting practice. On occasion, we help clients of ours test new digital experiences, like apps, and this allows us to gather consumer insights easily. Sometimes I get logged out of the system and the password reset kicks me out

We like to use the video uploads as you can see respondents in their natural environments. They tell us more than they would in a written / verbal survey and there is more emotional content which is hugely useful when seeking unmet needs that are often unarticulated. Respondents can also upload projective imagery content which is super helpful. And the final dashboard is highly searchable which saves significant analysis time at the back end. What do you like best about Indeemo?

From my perspective as a researcher and module tutor, the best things about Indeemo are: 1) the team behind the technology who could not be more helpful or supportive 2) the highly intuitive interface for participants that works on most devices 3) the variety of ways in which projects can be set up and range of media with which participants can engage with tasks. The interface is easy & intuitive for both researchers & respondents given the high similarity to Instagram. This is augmented by the super supportive customer service team (project managers, support staff) who are fast, proactive and very helpful in their responses. Love the auto-transcribing feature! Everything about Indeemo is easy, from submitting your project to setting up/editing your task list and interacting with respondents. Being able to add recruiters is also extremely helpful, especially on big projects. The Indeemo team is very accommodating, reactive and always go the extra mile to make sure everything goes to plan!
