Indeemo is a highly intuitive and user-friendly platform. Respondents can easily download the app and navigate the various missions. On the back end, the data can be viewed in myriad ways, enabling you to analyze it more quickly and derive real insights. There are some limitations to mission design. For example, you can only have one video in a mission or one photo upload, not both. The data we got back was very rich and layered--much more than I expected, as someone trained in in-person ethnographic methods. People spoke intimately very quickly, perhaps because they were alone when they recorded. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Maybe a third of participants had technical issues along the way: signing in, screen recording, turning on notifications or sound. Clear, repeated instructions still didn't save us. It would help if participants could record screen in any browser, not just chrome.

The tagging function needs a few changes: the ability to delete or rename tags would help.

The Indeemo platform is feature-rich, easy for participants to use, and yet reasonably priced. I used Indeemo to create a user journey as part of a field study, and had no problems whatsoever. Even more impressive is the customer service - Indeemo's staff always went above and beyond to ensure the study was programmed and executed correctly. The pandemic has made qualitative research tough. I was used to flying all over the world, meeting consumers directly face to face. The complete closure of many countries and the complexity of travel in others could have put my projects at a standstill. Thank goodness I found Indeemo! With their mobile video, automated transcriptions and mobile screen recording I've been able to get high quality qualitative insights from consumers across the country and across the world. The best part of the platform is the ease of review and clipping the videos - I'm able to hear an insight, easily find the time stamps on the video and clip the video of the quote all within the platform in minutes. This has made it super easy to share insights across my team and has helped me to get alignment with stakeholders on key project decisions - since they're able to hear the insights directly from the consumers themselves. I can't think of anything that I dislike about the platform. But being a researcher I know that constructive feedback is just important as praise. Thinking REALLY hard to try to identify something that could be improved, I would think that perhaps adding a function that allows you to mark a video as "watched" to keep track of what you've already viewed vs. what still needs to be reviewed would be helpful. Indeemo is user-friendly, easy to learn, and allows you to spend a day in someone else's life and understand their interests, habits and behaviours. The video and photo features mean that there are different ways of expressing emotion for users. You can also capture things in the moment, as you set new tasks in response to new findings and events. It is easy to download information, and I particularly like the word cloud feature. Using Indeemo was my first experience of a virtual ethnography platform, and I was amazed by how user-friendly and ergonomic both the participant app and the researcher online platform were. Eugene provided clear guidance on how to effectively utilise the program, and the ease of use meant no further instructions were needed. The researcher platform brings together the diverse forms of data in a rich and visually coherent manner, meaning analysis (which is never easy), becomes slightly more manageable. The only negative aspect of the app was specifically linked to the research project I was working on: an autoethnographic study on food during the pandemic. Conducting 'autoethnography' meant using the participant/user app to also collect textual data on my thoughts and experiences in specific moments. I feel a bit more space for writing notes on the user-app would have been useful here, but like I said, this specifically links to the nature of the autoethnography project. If I was using the web-platform to send tasks to participants, they would have no need to write extensive notes as the photographs and video diaries would provide more than enough rich data. Furthermore, the web-platform provides a huge amount of space for the researcher to write memos and notes, thereby overcoming this small issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
