A skilled moderator trained in conducting mobile ethnography mitigates any potential downsides. A clear, concise guide with "just right" question length is key to eliciting the intended responses and resulting insights. Active moderation is needed to probe for clarifications. I would have loved to have access to my data in Indeemo indefinitely. Since my team used the service for an ad-hoc project, my access will expire in the next few weeks.
