## About incident.io
incident.io is the software reliability platform trusted by engineering teams at Netflix, Etsy, and over 2,000 companies that can't afford downtime. Software ships faster than ever, and keeping it reliable has become the real constraint on how fast a team can move. incident.io connects the full reliability lifecycle in one platform (On-Call, Investigations, Incident Response, and Status Pages) so context flows across every step instead of getting lost between disconnected tools. At the center is Nexus, a living AI model of your production environment built entirely from your own data: your runbooks, your services, and every incident you've ever run. Nexus gets smarter every time you use the platform, and it powers Investigations, our agentic root cause analysis. The moment an alert fires, Investigations reasons across your telemetry, deploys, and past incidents, then hands your team a root-cause hypothesis with the evidence, before anyone has opened a laptop. The incident.io agent works everywhere your team already does, from Slack and Teams to web, mobile, and MCP, both when you ask it and on its own in the background. It's a platform with an agent, not just an agent, so the essential work of running incidents, paging the right people, and keeping stakeholders updated keeps happening reliably. The result is a shift from simply managing incidents to continuously improving reliability. The best teams don't just respond to failure faster. They detect issues before customers do, resolve them with fewer people pulled in, and stop the same incidents from recurring. Every incident makes the system smarter, so reliability compounds. From the SRE to the support rep to the CTO, teams spend less time firefighting and more time building software their customers trust.

## incident.io Reviews
 ### 1. Fast product development and an attentive team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2022

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

incident.io makes it incredibly easy to build workflows to manage incidents. When we have an incident, several Slack channels are notified automatically, we page an incident lead to help drive to resolution, and when we're done, we can use their timeline to learn more about the incident itself.

Their product development turnaround is also wildly impressive, often seeing weekly releases with big improvements. We've requested several features that have been turned around very fast.

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

Company is going through a big growth period which can lead to you knowing more about the product than your customer success rep.

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a tool that was able to help us improve (and automate) communication when incidents happen, something that would be easy for many teams to adopt (automatic incident creation from Pagerduty is :chefskiss:), and something that improved the creation of postmortem type documents. If you've ever tried to copy and paste from Slack, you know how awful this is.

incident.io solved all of this for us. Once we got our larger incident workflow configured, we had an incident lead run an incident without any training on the new workflow.

 ### 2. A tool that simplifies documentation and management so that we can focus on solutions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eloisa F. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2023

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

Incident.io is very easy and intuitive to use, which greatly reduces communication time between teams, developers and external customers during an incident.

With simple training or documentation, it is possible for anyone to manage their incidents, escalate processes internally, manage documents and manage tasks that can be followed by everyone in the company.

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

I can't think of a point about Incident.io that I don't like. incident.io greatly simplifies incident management at my company.

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Management, documentation, communication and escalation of incidents

 ### 3. Simple and practical tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tarciso S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2023

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

Very intuitive tool, we use it integrated with slack and it works perfectly.
Our process was guided and new people adapt easily

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

So far I haven't found anything that has disappointed me.

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

clarity in the incident process, integration with slack

 ### 4. Very useful!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bárbara A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2023

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

The practicality to use it integrated on our communications channel.

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

I think that te updated on status page could me more user friendly.

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its helping us to solve and administrate a lot of incidentes on our company.

 ### 5. Great improvement of our incident process

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anne-Sophie T. | Staff Engineer

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2022

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

Creating a dedicated temporary channel to split the communication was a huge improvement to help us separate concerns instead of sounding the alarms in the wrong places.
The tool’s UX is on point, the CLI helps you find what you need quickly.
Communicating with Incident.io’s team is easy.

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

We’d like to see new integrations such as Notion.

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Golem.ai uses Slack to communicate, using incident.io enhanced our overall communication of incidents between every team, also resulting in faster communication to clients if need be.
It has helped redefine roles during an incident, ensuring the correct persons are working on the problem.
We also created better decision flows to help in case of similar incidents.

 ### 6. Codifies the manual processes, thus minimising the pain of incident management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Walter C. | Engineering Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2022

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

I like how simple it to use the tool is and how it slotted perfectly into our setup.

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

I really can't think of anything that I dislike, their team is proactive in communicating about new features and bug-fixes. It really feels like a tool that is part of the "accepted tooling" for a tech company, alongside Slack, PagerDuty, Sentry, Dead Man's Snitch and others.

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Incident.io takes care of codifying the incident handling process so that the responders can achieve the standards expected by our teams. The tool handholds you just enough to ensure that the mechanical part of the response is covered. Every time.

 ### 7. Transformed our reliability practices

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike H. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

Incident has transformed our incident response to be calm and deliberate. It also ensures that we do proper post-mortems and complete our repair items.

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

I hate PagerDuty and really wish incident.io would let us replace PagerDuty. Hopefully soon.

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Incident.io helps us respond to incidents better and prevent their future recurrence.

 ### 8. The calm within storms...

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dean B. | Lead Cloud Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2022

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

Before incident.io, our incident management was incredibly rudimentary and ad-hoc.
incident.io helped us formalise this making it easier to collate, surface and digest information after incidents.

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

incident.io has plenty of integrations but doesn't yet have one to attach Grafana charts onto an incident timeline directly.
It's strong to say that lack of this is a "dislike", but it would make the tool even stronger.

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides and solves:
- A way to streamline communication whilst still improving stakeholder visibility
- Guardrails for incident response, to bring consistency to the process
- Improved incident transparency through easy to follow documentation

 ### 9. Incident.io has helped us get incidents under control. What more could you want?

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ed H. | Head of Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2022

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

The team are excellent - they're in the early stages of delivery, and so while not everything is perfect they are incredibly diligent at gathering, responding to and actioning feedback. Nothing better than a "hey, good idea, we've rolled that idea out onto production" an hour after you make a suggestion.

Beyond that, it's just a good tool. It's clearly well built, well thought out, the team have oodles of incident experience and so it helps us run incidents better - whether they're big incidents or just little incidents that need coordination.

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

The thing that I dislike I understand they're about to fix - which is that incidents are "one size fits all". I think it's a bit tricky to differentiate between incidents which are security incidents vs. human errors vs. pure engineering issues. A bit more delineation between those would be very helpful (but I understand they're building it anyway - so ask me again in a couple weeks!).

Aside from that, I think some of their product is evidently work in progress - but I refer above to the "what do I like best" part: they always respond, quickly, and always have good ideas. It might not be for everyone if you're looking for something where you know everything is going to be in the same place when you come back next week. That's ok for us, but it might not be for you.

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When an issue or problem occurs, we need to get a team together to tackle it and solve the problem. Previously, we did this by jumping into Slack channels and relying on memory to invite certain people.

Since adding Incident.io we've had significantly _more_ incidents because it's now easy for people to create them, there's no burden to creating them, and they're a quick and easy way of coordinating a group of people to tackle a problem.

We started using this just in the engineering team, but tomorrow we're rolling out a company-wide incident management process and Incident.io will be part of it. If they can just replace the need for Pagerduty, I'll be even happier.

 ### 10. A terrific off-the-shelf solution for Slack-centric teams

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan H. | Sr. Program Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2022

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

Incident.io was critical in conceptualizing and launching our first formal incident response program. The tool aligns well with modern incident response management practices, providing enough flexibility within its framework for us to tune it to our own needs without needing any specialized technical support. The tool does what it says on the box and we've been very happy onboarding and training our teams to use it over the last year or so.

While the tool is great, it's worth noting that the team at Incident.io has been fantastic to work with. They've been open to feedback, implemented functionality we've requested, and are seemingly always available to help when needed.

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

Dependence on Slack for managing incidents is a bit of a burden when Slack breaks which hasn't been too big of an issue for us but one to consider. Some data and reporting functionality needs improvement but given the roadmap and opportunities it's understandable. There has been nothing show stopping for us using Incident, mostly nits and picks.

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing and executing on service and product outages, communicating internally and externally, providing visibility and aligning teams on the problem, solution path, and timeline to resolution.

 ### 11. Great product with the rightintegrations!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel D. | Independent Contractor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2023

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

Being able to respond to incidents in slack is a game changer. No more tab switching.

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

There could be more customization options.

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us put our precious time and energy where it's needed.

 ### 12. Incident.io has enabled the best incident management process I've seen during my career

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2022

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

Incident.io makes managing production outages much easier and more streamlined. It meets us where we're already at, conversing in Slack, and provides an easy record of how the incident was handled. It also has a strong focus on producing incident retrospectives, and makes that dead easy to do, which has really enabled our teams to use incidents as learning opportunities and encourages us to continually improve.

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

I'm not sure if this is a downside with incident.io or with the rest of the world, but its external reporting capabilities are limited, and our external stakeholders have more traditional expectations around how they want us to provide incident reports. That said, we've been able to work around that relatively easily, and the incident.io team has been super helpful in trying to understand our challenges and considering ways to overcome them.

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem with incident management is getting all the right people needed to solve the problem in the same shared context. Incident.io does a great job of that by handling all the slack magic to get everyone together, and it does a great job with it's prompts and reminders to make sure that everyone that joins the incident channel can get up to speed quickly on what the current status is. Gone are the days of having to stop what you're doing every time a new person joins the call and get them up to speed on the current status.

Also, the retrospectives template makes having incident post-mortems just so SO easy, which really enables us to continually improve our software with the learnings from each incident.

 ### 13. Intuitive and super easy tool to use, with a great CS team!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2022

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

The tool is super easy to set up, and we were able to deploy their solution within hours across our organisation with a very simple runbook and immediately add value.

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

Some things are not entirely optimised when running post mortems (i.e. having to copy and paste docs/links), but I know they're working on it, so expect this will eventually be like the rest of their product

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a way to automate our incident runbook and make decision-making easier for those hands-on with an incident. Incident.io solves this by providing automation within Slack, connecting up multiple tools and simplifying the process for our incident responders

 ### 14. The best UX around

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James T. | Senior DevOps/SecOps Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2022

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

Incident.io have unmatched user experience. Their Slack integration is so intuitive that I didn't need to explain anything to my colleagues before they were full converts. I simply told them to use it and they did. We've only been using incident.io for a month and they are already so core to how we manage incidents that we wholly depend on them, and I ain't bothered by that.

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

Their pricing model adds unnecessary friction. We have to restrict our use of the tool to prevent high bills for team members who only use the tool a few times a month. Please change this 🙏

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We now effortlessly manage incidents via a Slack-first approach. Beforehand all our incidents were managed ad-hoc in various Slack channels, which become unmanageable. Incident.io's tool has next to no friction which is important when everything's on fire at 2 in the morning!

 ### 15. Incident.io is like cruise control for incident management!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2022

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

It's very easy to use and sets you up with best practices from day one. It guides engineers to the right way of doing things with great product design and seamless integrations.

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

Not much so far. I would love to get more insights / analytics features, but the csv export is definitely good enough for now. Maybe exporting the data automatically to something like google sheets would help us get more real time insights.

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us gain insights into how well different teams are responding to incidents and know which parts of the system to focus our attention on imporving. It teaches engineers how to respond to incidents with the great product design. It requires very little effort to get new engineers onboarded.

 ### 16. incident.io made our incident response more efficient and consistent

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthieu P. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2022

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

The team is top banana — super responsive and helpful.

Product-wise, I would give a special mention to the web app. I particularly enjoy using it to get a quick overview of an ongoing incident and to manage actions/follow-ups.

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

As an incident responder, I haven't found much to dislike about the product. My only gripe would be around the creation of actions/follow-ups via Slack: I wish it were a bit snappier.

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to focus on the incident response without having to think about the process. Essentially, incident.io makes our incident response more efficient and consistent.

 ### 17. The tool when you need it.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Henrique d. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2022

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

Incident.io helps coordinate and share information when you most need it. It just works and doesn't get in your way during an incident (like some other tools).

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

It comes with all the advantages and disadvantages of the slack interface, which is great because we are already on slack, but also, it takes some getting used to with the commands

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Incident.io helps us deal with production incidents

 ### 18. Really innovative and responsive company and product! Makes incident work super slick.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vicky F. | User Support Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2022

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

It really helps provide you with a structure to your incidents such that it's easier to coordinate and harder to miss things. The slack channels are a good way to communicate quickly - I like that it's not overcomplicated and not trying to make you communicate in another platform or style, just like a super-charged slack workspace for incidents.

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

Nothing to report that we dislike - you mostly just have to decide for yourselves how you want to use it and customise appropriately, which needs love and attention to get the best out of all the features!

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In particular for us as a business, we're regulated by a central organisation and so incident.io is helping us really formalise and prove that our processes are strong and reliable, as well as modern and slick.

 ### 19. "great product"

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marina R. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2023

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

it really helped my team to act faster and handle better incidents

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

nothing i recall. im really happy with incident.io

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

better and easier communication between our engineering, customer success and support teams, better post mortem administration

 ### 20. Amazing product, very useful!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hilderlan A. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2023

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

Provides a great user experience, and almost everything is made through Slack.

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

At the moment, there is nothing that I dislike.

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Opening incidents automatically
- Export follow-ups to Jira and GitHub

 ### 21. Awesome incident.io features => my team focuses 100% on mitigating and introspecting on incidents

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hania E. | Engineering Lead, DevOps, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2022

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

Continuously improving and evolving features that greatly reduce the cognitive load for our entire engineering team, whether in preparing for, managing, or introspecting on incidents.

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

Users who don't regularly use the tool may not remember all the Slack features, and jumping between the slack UX and the web UX is a little clunky for infrequent users.

I use dark mode and the visibility of buttons with suggested actions is not too clear to me.

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowing any engineer to orchestrate incident response, because we set the roles, workflows and PagerDuty&Statuspage integrations in advance during fair weather.

This brings consistency in incident mitigation and keeps all informed. Post-incident introspection is also orders of magnitude easier since we have a record in Slack of the actions and observations of the team.

 ### 22. Great

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2023

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

Until now, it's was great for a quick response across the teams

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

There's nothing in particular that I dislike

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's solving communication across the teams and updating

 ### 23. incident.io - great team, great product

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2022

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

Customisation to your team's needs is almost endless. The team is incredibly receptive to feedback and is constantly trying to innovate!

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

Implementing new software into teams can always be challenging. Just need to make everyone realise how great a tool it can be!

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Standardising business processes whilst teaching the company the long term value of effective incident resolution and post-incident insights.

 ### 24. Really great tool and customer support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2022

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

It just works and integrates with our tooling easily. If we have a feature request, the team can react really fast and implement it when asked if this is relevant for the product.

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

It might take time to get used to it, but once it's setup you will never work without it

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves our communication issue during incident management

 ### 25. incident.io has helped us improve and formalise our operational processes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2022

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

It's super easy to launch new incidents, and a lot of the incident infrastructure is then taken care of automatically. We've also been impressed with the possibilities of the workflow features. The team is super receptive to feature requests and bug reports. Overall, we've liked how it's helped us start driving a formalisation and overall improvement of our incident management.

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

Some engineers consider the Slack bot noisy, and workflows are not as flexible as we'd like currently.

**Recommendations to others considering incident.io:**

It's a useful tool if you're currently using Slack, and need to improve your overall management of incidents.

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're improving the overall functioning of our operational processes, particularly regarding incident management. We've noticed improvements in the overall quality of incident management, and reduced stress from people in incidents themselves.

 ### 26. incident.io is incredibly helpful for taking hassles out of our incident response

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Isaac L. | Senior Software Engineer, Computer Networking, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2022

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

incident.io has enabled some robust workflows for us as we manage incidents; I think the moment it clicked for me was when I received a page while walking my dog and was able to spin up an incident, co-ordinate folks internally, and manage comms on our StatusPage all from my phone before I could even get back inside.

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

There's not much to say here; we had a few missing features early on that we were able to work around but the team at incident.io has been receptive to feedback and works quickly to turn around changes.

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

incident.io has helped us standardize our incident response process across teams with common workflows and practices; it's also helped us track followups effectively after incidents are remediated.

 ### 27. Great tool for orchestration of incident management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt J. | Engineering Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2022

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

We've been using incident.io for nearly a year now and have found it hugely useful for our incident management processes. I would recommend it for any technical organisation using Slack to oversee their incident handling.

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

While I understand that incident.io are focusing on their Slack offering for now, it seems a lot of their offering could be made to be agnostic to the communication tool.

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

incident management

 ### 28. Incident.io helps our team focus on solving the incident by streamlining coordination overhead

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vinay H. | Co-Founder, CTO, VP People, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2022

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

All hooks from Slack feed into the Incident platform. No need to change your communication behavior.

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

I would love if Incident offered a Statuspage and Pagerduty alternative in one. I would instantly switch.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Business Supplies and Equipment | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2022

**What do you like best about incident.io?**

We improved our incidents processes a lot as we can do all important actions directly within slack without the need to involve more tools or applications. It helps us to standardize and automate incident processes.

**What do you dislike about incident.io?**

With their per-responder licensing model, it is difficult to accurately forecast costs over time. Additional costs may occur while using.
Some features are missing, like posting to private channels or connections to more OnCall Services (Splunk in our case) but these might come over time

**What problems is incident.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're improving transparency for all stakeholders and employees within the organization while on the same time streamlining incident processes and follow up in a nice and smart way
