"My go-to video editor"
4.5/5
What do you like best about iMovie?

I movie is one of the simplest products to use. I learned it quite easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iMovie?

What I dislike about iMovie is that it isn't keeping up with the other products in the market. I sometimes have to do one part of the video in iMovie and then upload it onto VEED.io to complete adding more interesting features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"iMovie: Video editing the Apple way."
3.5/5
What do you like best about iMovie?

iMovie offers a great, overall compelling experience when editing video, it has all the basics and some of the intermediate-level features that most video enthusiasts and content creators can ask for in a pretty nice package, with seamless integration with Apple's hardware and macOS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iMovie?

It definitely lacks some more professionally focused features, here's where Final Cut Pro enters the picture, as Apple's complete video editing suite. iMovie can show its age to some extent, but in general, it is a solid tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use, powerfull tools"
4.5/5
What do you like best about iMovie?

Ease of use is the most powerful speciality of iMovie. And the fact that it is the default app for MAC makes it smooth for mac users. The attributes are easy to implement, although they are not fulfilling the most current needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iMovie?

The lack of updates with up to date skins and different Special Effects are quite poor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Used it for years"
5/5
What do you like best about iMovie?

It is easy for beginners to engage with and achieve basic success. With practice and time even basic technology users are able to create quality looking videos to utilize in a variety of areas. Additionally, if you have an iPad or iPhone it is easy to work and combine content from other devices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iMovie?

The biggest thing is that the updates to the software have felt like they restricted the possibility. As a long-time user of iMovie the UI changes have been difficult to adjust to at times. Personally, I preferred the older interfaces as I felt they were more capable of customization. I understand that the goal was to make the software more "user friendly" but it also served as a sort of dumbing down. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Create videos for YouTube"
4.5/5
What do you like best about iMovie?

I like best about iMovie is the ability it gives you to create a movie step by step. I find it is usher friendly for the person using this for the first time Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iMovie?

What I like best about iMovie is that it's ability to help you build something from the beginning to the end and a break it down with the steps what I dislike about iMovie is that it takes up a lot of space on my phone if there was a way I could just have a cloud to upload to wear. It doesn't take up space on my phone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"I only make videos with iMovie!"
5/5
What do you like best about iMovie?

iMovie is a great product. It is very user-friendly, makes video editing simple, and always provides a good end product for me. Making trailers is made simple with their software, and splicing videos together for marketing purposes is actually a very fun process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iMovie?

The only thing I may dislike about iMovie is that I cannot change how a video is viewed if I shot the footage with my phone vertically rather than horizontally. That's also partially my fault for not filming all my footage in the same way, but it would be so nice to be able to crop the footage easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great for basic video editing. If you want advanced functionality, look elsewhere"
3/5
What do you like best about iMovie?

Among the video editing editing, iMovie is about as user-friendly as it gets. You can create a nice-looking video quickly, easily, and wihtout much skill and background knowledge. Tutorials are good within iMovie, and there are plenty more on the web. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iMovie?

If you want to do anything advanced, iMovie will feel limiting. There aren't too many advanced features, and it doesn't give you a lot of controls for changing features and settings. Many videos made in iMovie will look like they were made in iMovie, at least to anyone who knows what they are looking at. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Quick and easy edits!"
5/5
What do you like best about iMovie?

iMovie is the most straightforward, intuitive video editor we use at our organization. It's easily accessible and already installed on our team's MacBooks, and we can easily share files and collaborate. For people who are newer to editing, it's a great tool to learn the basics. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iMovie?

iMovie can be a little rigid. It would be nice to have a more fluid experience when adding text or graphics--we often need to move text overlays around and cannot do so with the standard iMovie templates. This creates more work for us because we must create overlays with other products. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Couldn't be easier for quick, clean execution"
4.5/5
What do you like best about iMovie?

Its easy to figure out and there's enough documentation or resources online to find answers on how to make something happen if you don't intuitively know. The best part is that its already on my machine and can be used almost with no training—its easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iMovie?

There could be some more hints or menu items to know exactly where something is—often times you need to hunt for it or go to YouTube—but generally it comes with so much already packed in, its a full suite for simple, professional editing without too much complication. "Rock Solid Tool"
4.5/5
What do you like best about iMovie?

iMovie is a tool that came installed on my Mac, and at first, I was skeptical that it could manage the volume of video I needed to process. It does everything I need and more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about iMovie?

Some of the tooling is challenging to understand. When I place an image in as an overlay, there is always a crop sizing tool that's in place that takes a picture and makes it smaller over the timeline. There doesn't seem to be a way of changing this default. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
