## ImageKit Reviews
  ### 1. Great for solo-developers to test before paying any money

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2025

**What do you like best about ImageKit?**

- Great functionality for all basic needs related to images (storage, transformations, etc.) and videos;
- Good overall documentation, but there are always ways to improve it as well;
- Compared it mostly to Cloudinary, but ImageKit is noticeably cheaper and definitely more flexible on pricing;
- Great to see that product is improving with AI features.

**What do you dislike about ImageKit?**

- The design of Media Library seems a bit outdated;
- More documentation with different use cases, added benefit of which can be better results through LLM assistance;
- Plans restrictions related to MP limits can be explained better with examples (i.e. restrictions apply to the original files even if the transformed image is smaller using pre-transform parameters);
- Having different versions of the same file can be beneficial in some cases, but in other cases it's quite cumbersome to delete all previous versions if you want to save space;
- Custom domain is only available on the more expensive pro plan.

**What problems is ImageKit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a beginner solo-developer didn't know about existence of such image-oriented services. Started with Supabase Storage, then used Cloudflare R2 and Images, and only after found ImageKit. At every stage of the process lacked certain features (specific image transformation options, exif extraction, metadata extraction, automatic tagging, HEIC handling and transformations etc.). ImageKit has all I need and more.

  ### 2. The best Image Optimization CDN

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marc F. | Freelance web developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2025

**What do you like best about ImageKit?**

I use Imagekit for a while now and after trying many Image CDN services, I always stick with Imagekit. It's easy to setup and use, the interface is clean. I didn't try their new AI options yet but they look very good. Customer support is reactive and helpful.

**What do you dislike about ImageKit?**

I only have two pain points with the free tier : 5GB DAM storage and video processing units.
Storage was 25GB in the past if I remember well and was reduced to 5GB, which can be limiting.

**What problems is ImageKit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Imagekit to provide responsive images in my website. Loading times are fast with their CDN and we can use many transformations.

  ### 3. I fell in love!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rojo S. | Founder, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2023

**What do you like best about ImageKit?**

I'm actually using ImageKit as a replacement for my Amazon S3 and Cloudfront for images.
ImageKit also has a built-in Image Editor tool! Which is very helpful for resizing my images internally without any hassle. (Edit it, resize, then re-upload again)
It can all be done inside ImageKit!

**What do you dislike about ImageKit?**

It's not that I dislike it, but I wish a free user could get (increase) more bandwidth and storage space.
Hoping for the best!

**What problems is ImageKit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Digital Asset Management, for sure! CDN, CDN, CDN!
It's like AWS S3+Cloudfront but with a GUI

ImageKit did an excellent job with their services here!

  ### 4. Best free image transformation service

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nazmul Hossain S. | Sr. Web Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2025

**What do you like best about ImageKit?**

I love the Unlimited image transformation in imagekit.

**What do you dislike about ImageKit?**

Imagekit has Lower storage space and bandwidth which I didn't like.

**What problems is ImageKit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

image transformation on the fly

  ### 5. Very affordable and Stable Image Optimization Service I have ever used, Good Price, Simple to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben Z. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2023

**What do you like best about ImageKit?**

Best price schema from all the competitors!

The price model is based on the real volume downloaded of your image assets. When Imagekit does a better job of optimizing your images, the less you will need to pay as it is charged by download volume, smaller images, smaller volume!

It is not fair to pay for those images you have, but no one downloads them!

ImageKit's price schema is the best in this market. Only pay when there is some real traffic download your images.

**What do you dislike about ImageKit?**

So far, nothing has been found about ImageKit of dislike.

The only thing that might be considered a disadvantage is the subdomain is limited to just one, and all your new sources of images will need to be in different subfolders.
It is not a big issue because you can still pay double to create multiple accounts in order to get multiple domains.

**What problems is ImageKit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ImageKit provide the one-stop shop for us to manage website image optimization services, and we no longer need to use other provider or resize images by ourselves

  ### 6. Imagekit Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manash M. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2023

**What do you like best about ImageKit?**

I most like to use Imagekit is that it is easy to use and easy to embed or link the images to the website for my client's project. And they give us to use the platform free of cost. Of course, they give you limited storage in free but it can useful to beginners.

**What do you dislike about ImageKit?**

What I most dislike about Imagekit is that they allow only uploading videos of 25MB. If they increase the size of the video to upload then it will be the best platform to use for video files also.

**What problems is ImageKit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If they allow uploading videos of more than 25MB then it will be a great option for beginners to use this platform easily and host their videos without any worry. Because other platforms are charged very costly to upload videos.

  ### 7. This is a great service that combines an API to handle images and CDN

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Noe G. | Director of IT / Warehouse Operations, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2023

**What do you like best about ImageKit?**

This is easy to integrate with any platform. Great to manage images if you have a big website with thousands of images. The CND feature works great, and it does a great job optimizing and compressing images for you.

**What do you dislike about ImageKit?**

The price is fair, but it could get high if you have a catalog as big as we do. We have multiple images per product variant, and that consumes a lot of bandwidth. It would be nice to have better pricing for volume

**What problems is ImageKit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem that we ImageKit solved for us was the image load speeds and use of bandwidth, they do a great job with compression and the CDN

  ### 8. Hands down the best image / media hosting tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Savraj S. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2023

**What do you like best about ImageKit?**

The best part of imagekit is it has a simple API that works really, really well. We were able to get our product catalog hosted on Imagekit, which was a huge simplification for our business. We are SUPER THANKFUL to the hard work that those guys do to host a key part of our business.

It's really solid and a bit less expensive than some of the alternatives, which were really bloated, didn't have great API's, and had obscure pricing models.

**What do you dislike about ImageKit?**

I wish it were 1) easier to back up everything offsite from imagekit, in a Google Cloud Storage bucket, for example. 2) I wish it were easier for us to set up a custom domain for our imagekit hosted assets.

Thanks!

**What problems is ImageKit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's solving the whole hosting images and quickly displaying them at different sizes problem for us. We hope to also use it for video. We tried a few products, and imagekit really stood out as the best solution.

  ### 9. Excellent for storing image, good for video

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Akash K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2023

**What do you like best about ImageKit?**

Unlimited free image processing. Pricing and experience with storage and processing images are excellent. Enough free credit to test and build before starting to pay for production.

**What do you dislike about ImageKit?**

Need improvement with pricing when storing video. Bandwidth and storage charges are high. Need to allow larger-size videos for the free tier so that users can test during development.

**What problems is ImageKit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I need a reliable product for image processing and lossless compression. So far imageKit seems to be an excellent product serving the purpose. Image compression is very impressive.

  ### 10. ImageKit a Game Changer

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ruchita G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2023

Advanced security features

Overall, ImageKit provides a powerful and cost-effective solution for managing and optimizing images on the web, helping businesses to improve their online performance and user experience.

**What do you dislike about ImageKit?**

Cost: ImageKit is a paid service, with pricing based on the number of images stored.This can be a disadvantage for small businesses or individuals with limited budgets.

Dependence on a third-party service

Integration complexity

Limited customization

**What problems is ImageKit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Faster page load times,Improved SEO.

  ### 11. very fast to integrate, but very long bill to pay afterward
