I do like the integration of multiple calendars with cloud technology to keep all of my devices updated. iCal is a personalized experience within itself. There are also push features to remind you that an event is coming up -- set your reminders accordingly. **What do you dislike about iCal?** I currently do not have any complaints as iOS 7 is around the corner. Apple simply doesn't allow for the flexibility to edit events, invite others to events etc. that I need. It also doesn't sync very well with my other calendars. I need one spot for all of my information and Apple doesn't always play well with others. **Recommendations to others considering iCal:** If you're using it on a mobile phone, check out Sunrise - HIGHLY recommend using that app instead. ### 5. The web-view can be quite slow as well, so stick with the application on your Mac or iDevice. **Recommendations to others considering iCal:** Make sure you have all your calendars from other providers (e.g. Google calendar) synced within the app, so you won't have to use more than one calendar application. ### 6. It's a nice try to do what MS does so much better with Outlook: make it enticing for users, nice to use and play with. **What do you dislike about iCal?** It's not very good when synching with some corporate services. We use MS Exchange and when there's some issue that otherwise MS Outlook would sort out automatically, this calendar keeps bringing up the problem and having you click on a button to decide what to do with the conflict. It's also not great when you want to share stuff. I don't know, I feel like it's half done, not the best calendar I've used by far. **Recommendations to others considering iCal:** If you're coming from Outlook...stay there. ### 7. All of my three email accounts are through Google. Apple and Google don't have the greatest track record for compatibility. When I sync my Google calendar with the Apple calendar I lose almost all my event management functionality. Essentially it is no different than writing the event on a paper calendar. **Recommendations to others considering iCal:** If you are using an Apple device such as an Ipad you really don't have much alternative. Unless you want shotty UX compatibility. ### 8. If you don't have any other similar app it will get the job done, and it communicates between Apple products relatively smoothly. **What do you dislike about iCal?** Apple Calendar falls short when you compare it with other mature calendaring applications. It is a little light on features and does a poor job syncing with Microsoft products which, let's face it, most of the business world still uses. **Recommendations to others considering iCal:** Give it a try. It's impossible to keep the computers on local time and not confuse entries. Calendar invites that you get and accept/decline in Outlook, still show up on your Apple Calendar until you accept/decline them there too.
