## iCal Reviews
  ### 1. iCal Review

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2019

**What do you like best about iCal?**

I like the fact that I can put something on my iCal on any of my Apple devices and it automatically syncs to my other devices. The look of the calendar is clean and simple. The variety of colors available so that different calendars can be color coded. Like much of Apple's products, it is aesthetically pleasing. It is easy to use and does exactly as it should. If I only used Apple products it might make this of competition against Google Calendar. Most appointment setters including ICal so it is easy to download events to the ICal system.

**What do you dislike about iCal?**

I have noticed that iCal isn't quite as customizable as other calendar apps, which I think it in keeping with most Apple products and applications. Sometimes, I wish I was able to integrate other apps — other than Microsoft Exchange — into my calendar. This makes it more difficult to collaborate with others. There's a bit of elitism in that it is only accessible on Apple products and that doesn't feel right. The competition is just easier to use on multiple platforms. And while it works with Google Calendar, it takes more time to use.

**Recommendations to others considering iCal:**

Every now and then I get an error message because I allowed an event to expired before I added it to my calendar. It takes me quite some time to figure out how to remove that error message. I checked the apple community first but I was still unable to get rid of the error message. help??

**What problems is iCal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problems: Sometimes events get added to my calendar that I didn't add. For example, a dinner reminder that was mentioned in a text message will show up. This could be beneficial though, for those who do plan something and forget to add the actual reminder.

  ### 2. Basic Calendar Functionality

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Arts and Crafts | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2019

**What do you like best about iCal?**

The best thing about iCal, I suppose, is its simplicity.

**What do you dislike about iCal?**

iCal is not currently my go to scheduling software for two major reasons: there are not enough functions, and it glitches all the time.

**Recommendations to others considering iCal:**

If most of your work is analog, iCal is a simple digital scheduling tool that might work well for your business. Beware though, it deletes old information so you can't count on it for archiving.

**What problems is iCal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using iCal is certainly better than not having a scheduling software. All of the times I have used it, it deletes all of the information that is a month old. As a graphic designer, it is extremely important for me to be able to access my old information. So this is a huge problem for me and ultimately made me stop using iCal.

  ### 3. Not as good as outlook for business

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2019

**What do you like best about iCal?**

It's great as a personal tool and looks nice

**What do you dislike about iCal?**

Not reliable, often send out invites to clients and they don't come back

**What problems is iCal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to track what i'm doing and it syncs up well with apple products and looks good

  ### 4. Prefer Google Calendar for appointments and reminders

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Restaurants | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2017

**What do you like best about iCal?**

I like the quick access to the calendar and that it is always available on my iphone.

**What do you dislike about iCal?**

The appointments and reminders work better for me when I can input all of my info to the Google calendar, it automatically loads my email contacts in

**What problems is iCal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The widget is quick access for my on my iphone and ipad.

  ### 5. Not as good as my old android calendar

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lauren W. | Graphic Web Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 29, 2016

**What do you like best about iCal?**

I like that I can view several calendars at once, including my Outlook calendar, Google calendar, and iPhone calendar.

**What do you dislike about iCal?**

Lots. I really miss my old calendar widget that I had on my android phone. It was the easiest way for me to see my upcoming appointments. Another thing I dislike is that when I view my calendar there is a red line horizontally across the screen that corresponds to the current time. It is very hard to tell how that line relates to the upcoming appointment. I have been late for appointments because it is hard to read. Finally, I am still having trouble with my notifications. I am not always notified of an appointment even though I have the alarm set.

**Recommendations to others considering iCal:**

I think it is fine by itself, if that is all you are used to, but it is hard to go from android to Apple. You feel like you're losing a lot of functionality.

**What problems is iCal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use my Apple calendar on my iPhone to view my business schedule. It is nice to be able to see my work related appointments right on my phone. A benefit to that is that I can keep on top of my appointments when I am not at my desk.

  ### 6. Good calendaring tool

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shari R. | Marketing Professional, Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2014

**What do you like best about iCal?**

iCal is pretty easy to use. I really like the reminder options most of all.

**What do you dislike about iCal?**

Not much I dislike. However, sometimes I have issues with ICal when it comes to the previous or next month feature.

**Recommendations to others considering iCal:**

Highly recommend.

**What problems is iCal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Benefits are keeping track of events and appointments and sharing calendars.

  ### 7. Not Flexible Enough

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cate C. | Adjunct Professor, Higher Education, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2013

**What do you like best about iCal?**

Apple Calendar is easy to use for users with fairly simple calendar and scheduling needs.

**What do you dislike about iCal?**

It simply doesn't have the flexibility that I need in a calendar app. I've started using the Sunrise calendar app on my phone and I haven't touched Apple Calendar since. Apple simply doesn't allow for the flexibility to edit events, invite others to events etc. that I need. It also doesn't sync very well with my other calendars. I need one spot for all of my information and Apple doesn't always play well with others.

**Recommendations to others considering iCal:**

If you're using it on a mobile phone, check out Sunrise - HIGHLY recommend using that app instead.

  ### 8. Decent, not overwhelming calendar for phone

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 29, 2013

**What do you like best about iCal?**

Ease of use, separating categories of calendars (private/work), clean/ simple

**What do you dislike about iCal?**

Cannot snooze reminders; not many options to customize meetings/ appointments; not much functionality; can't send appointments (via phone) to other colleagues (or it's too elaborate to figure out); overall too simple.
(Admittedly not a huge fan of Apple/iPhone fan functionality overall)

**What problems is iCal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reminders for meetings on phone; setting up appointments/ reminders for self. Organizing work schedule

  ### 9. Apple Calendar Works But...

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2013

**What do you like best about iCal?**

Apple calendar is always in my pocket, its on my iphone

**What do you dislike about iCal?**

It has limited quality of sync, the ui is lame, and I cannot do the things I can from my outlook calendar.

**What problems is iCal solving and how is that benefiting you?**

hi

  ### 10. Perpetually waiting for Apple Calender to improve....

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2012

**What do you like best about iCal?**

iCloud integration and synchronization is a nice feature.

**What do you dislike about iCal?**

It takes too many clicks to add, delete, and modify calender entries. I've essentially move to Fantastical to improve this experience.

**Recommendations to others considering iCal:**

It's not sufficient by itself. There is a cottage industry of add-ons that make it better -- find one that works for you.
