"Low-Code Identity Orchestration with Smart Adaptive Risk and Legacy Integration"
4.5/5
What do you like best about IBM Verify CIAM?

What I like best about IBM Verify CIAM is its low-code Identity Orchestration engine, which replaces complex, multi-week engineering sprints with a drag-and-drop visual interface for building and modifying user authentication journeys. This visual workflow builder, combined with AI-driven Adaptive Risk Assessment, allows us to seamlessly evaluate context like device fingerprints and IP reputation—to enforce multi-factor authentication only when an anomaly is detected. This balance minimizes user friction and protects conversion rates, while an unexpected benefit has been the platform's ability to cleanly wrap around legacy identity stores and modernize them via standard protocols without requiring a costly rewrite of older databases. What do you dislike about IBM Verify CIAM?

What I dislike most about IBM Verify CIAM is the steep learning curve and initial complexity during the initial setup and tenant configuration. Navigating advanced configurations, deep enterprise customizations, and custom API integrations can feel disjointed because the technical documentation and onboarding tutorials frequently lack clear, step-by-step guidance for complex hybrid or legacy environments. Additionally, the administrative interface can occasionally feel confusing and tedious when debugging multi-factor authentication policies or tracking real-time sync delays across complex, distributed user identity flows. "Easy SSO & MFA Management with a Helpful Login Activity Dashboard"
4/5
What do you like best about IBM Verify CIAM?

IBM Verify CIAM makes it very easy to manage SSO and MFA from one place When we used it for a customer portal project and it handled authentication flows much better than our older setup. The dashboard is also pretty useful for tracking login activity and troubleshooting user access issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Verify CIAM?

The main downside for me was the initial setup and configuration part. If you’re new to CIAM tools, it can feel a bit complex at first. Some advanced settings also took extra time to figure out during integration and testing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The Perfect Balance of Risk-Based Security and Passwordless Convenience"
4/5
What do you like best about IBM Verify CIAM?

What I like best is its Adaptive Access capability. It uses risk-based authentication to analyze user context like device, location, and IP address. This allows legitimate customers to log in seamlessly without constant prompts, while automatically triggering multi-factor authentication (MFA) only when a threat is detected. It perfectly balances tight enterprise security with a smooth user experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Verify CIAM?

The complexity of the administrator console is the biggest drawback. The configuration dashboards can feel fragmented and heavy, making the initial setup and policy creation curve quite steep. It requires highly specialized technical knowledge, and making deep changes to user journeys often takes more steps and clicks than it should compared to lighter alternatives. "Secure and Scalable User Management with IBM Verify CIAM"
5/5
What do you like best about IBM Verify CIAM?

I like the security features of IBM Verify CIAM, especially multi-factor authentication (MFA) and single sign-on, as they really help in protecting user accounts and reducing risk. The user management aspect is quite good too, as we can handle a large number of users easily and control access from one place. The login experience is smooth, so users don’t face many issues while accessing the application. Additionally, it is scalable, still working fine as the number of users increases without significant performance issues. Overall, it makes our work easier and improves both security and user experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Verify CIAM?

One thing is the setup and configuration, it was bit complex for us in the beginning and took some time to understand all the features properly. Also the UI can be improved, sometimes it feels little confusing when navigating through different options, especially for new users. Another thing is documentation, even though it is available, sometimes it’s not very clear for some use cases, so we had to spend extra time figuring things out. "Centralized Authentication Made Simple, Despite a Clunky Dashboard"
4.5/5
What do you like best about IBM Verify CIAM?

I find IBM Verify CIAM useful for managing user authentication and access control across various tools. As a developer, I appreciate being able to centralize identity management effortlessly, including features like single sign-on and multi-factor authentication. I like how the authentication flow is easily adaptable based on user type and access needs. Multi-factor authentication is not only an extra security layer but is also consistent with security policies needed for certifications. The access policy setup is great, considering context like device and location, and it helps us trigger extra verification in high-risk situations. Overall, it offers a reliable and secure platform, which is critical for handling user access efficiently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Verify CIAM?

The dashboard was a bit tricky sometimes, and I needed a lot of help from others for the setup as I didn't have the time to implement it and fully understand it. If you are new to IAM systems, it can be more difficult. The settings are scattered across multiple sections, making navigation slow, and some flows are several menus deep. A better search could also be a plus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Identity Management with User-Centric Focus"
5/5
What do you like best about IBM Verify CIAM?

I like that IBM Verify CIAM focuses not only on security but also on user experience. Many IAM tools secure access, but CIAM also simplifies onboarding, authentication, and self-service for customers at scale. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Verify CIAM?

My main improvement area would be ease of implementation and operational experience. The platform is powerful, but simplifying configuration, debugging, and integrations would improve adoption. Getting started was reasonably straightforward, but enterprise level configuration and customization had a learning curve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust Security with a Steep Setup Curve"

I like that it combines strong security features with easy login options like single sign-on and multi-factor authentication. With these features, users can log in easily without frustration, and at the same time, I can ensure that their accounts and data are fully protected. The reduction of support tickets since users experience fewer login problems is a plus too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
