"Live streaming to a new level!"

What do you like best?

The platform has been very useful for the past 9 years, and now that is part of IBM Cloud, it has the potential for exponential grow like never seen before!

What do you dislike?

Needs to co-develop products that tie into the streaming services just like Livestream did with the Mevo Camera and the portable switcher.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Streaming experience meets Cloud computing experience and AI.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

My clients in Puerto Rico stream an average of 3 hours a day, and Ustream has supported their daily efforts flawlessly. My clients were the first media company live streaming major news events in the market, thanks to Ustream

"Cloud Video Done Right"

What do you like best?

You can get actual information of how many people are watching and from where. You monitor multiple channel/streams at the same time.

What do you dislike?

The more you increase users, the longer the wait becomes to join a stream.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Any organization that needs to distribute and interact with live internet broadcasts will find that Ustream meets a majority of their needs. Their level of customer support and quality is very good. Also, their interface can be very simple to use, resulting in volunteers being able to use the system. The only setback, specifically is price. Ustream, at the enterprise level, can be very expensive. This price made sense for other organizations, but not ours.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We were able to solve not having webinar in the corporate office. This benefited us because 90% of our employees are offsite.

What Enterprise Content Delivery Network (eCDN) solution do you use?

Thanks for letting us know!

"A gussied up livestream"

What do you like best?

Platform can support a large audience and also ease of accessing previous casts makes ustream appealing.

What do you dislike?

The chat feature is ok for general conversation. Not a great way for audience interaction if there is a large volume of chat messages.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Is ok for small to medium sized company. Consider this only for messages that are not meant to be interactive with the audience.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Having a centralized location for videos and knowledge repository helps to keep employees consistent on company practices and updates.

What do you dislike?

chat is not so much easy to access and you cant embed the video also to non-logged in users. and please add a demo at the start of work so it help us find out the things.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Getting the correct components for a given setup can be tricky.

Playback of uploaded videos (recording outside of app) can be problematic.

"IBM Ustream Review"

What do you like best?

Videos take up alot of data storage so our training videos being save on a separate cloud account is really nice. Keeps everything organized & doesnt muddle up our other drives

What do you dislike?

Not sure on price but my manager says our drive is not very big because it is expensive. A little slow if we don't have the best wifi.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We use it for training videos, doesnt need multiple log ins, just share it with all of our new employees.

"Experience with Ustream"

What do you like best?

I love that it give opportunities for a company with multiple site offices in different locations , to have important group meetings so the information giving doesn’t have to be split up.

What do you dislike?

It doesn’t always connect well the first time but that’s true with most technology.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

With a large company with offices across the country it has eliminated our need to set up different training times or conference times for everyone based on individual site needs and we can everyone everyone together as a whole like they are here with us. It saves us time and energy and helps to continue fostering the idea that we aren’t just employees at a corporation but a massive family .

"Solid Product BUT costly"

What do you like best?

Ustream is very easy to use from both the management side as well as the user side.

What do you dislike?

The cost of the product is really the only downside I can think of

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I've used Ustream to re-engage our web visitor audience. We even themed our holiday card and landing environment around the newest webcam (Blue Blubber Jellyfish) and continue to find that our audience is engaged with the content.
