"Not great for project and program management"

2.5/5

What do you like best about IBM Targetprocess?

I like the various layers under the top level. The ability to create custom reports comes in very handy. Seems to work well for Product Management. I like having a section where I can see all of my assignments in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Targetprocess?

Difficult to find what I'm looking for. Not aligned very well for project / program management. No central documentation repository or document search capability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is IBM Targetprocess solving and how is that benefiting you?

Having a variety of options available such as milestones, risks, impediments, bugs, etc is highly valuable. I can't say that I am more productive because it can sometimes take a while to get things organized in a way that makes sense for a specific project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Useful for development planning and project tracking, could use mobile ui improvements"

2.5/5

What do you like best about IBM Targetprocess?

It is easy to customize and visualize task boards using features like color encoding to identify tasks needing immediate attention and help with visualization as tasks move throughout the development process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Targetprocess?

The mobile ui is lacking and is difficult to prioritize items in. I often find myself having to login to a computer when needing to get additional information on Target Process items. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering IBM Targetprocess:

Configure your settings to be optimized for your users. Ensure that you use the correct prioritization options or you may run into mobile users problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is IBM Targetprocess solving and how is that benefiting you?

Development organization and prioritization, transparency in development related communication and solutions management Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Targetprocess for Project Managers and SCRUM teams"

3/5

What do you like best about IBM Targetprocess?

TP makes it easy to associate work with major feature objectives and then track the work's development progress. TP also integrates with a host of other work/code management platforms that makes it easy to use as a central place for work requests. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Targetprocess?

The custom reporting elements of TP are clunky and seem more like an after thought then a fully realized feature. There are very basic reporting functions such as average time in state, etc. that you cannot do. It definitely a miss given that the platform specializes in work management. The notification elements of TP are also clunky - either you get too many notifications (notified about everything) or none at all. It can make it frustrating to quickly track updates on your own work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering IBM Targetprocess:

If you need to do complex reporting, I would advise integrating Target process with another platform that specializes in that. Otherwise Target process is great for work tracking purposes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is IBM Targetprocess solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use TP to run our SCRUM sprints. It definitely helps us stay organized, plan for future sprints, and keep track of the progression of current sprints. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seemed to have an initial learning curve"

3/5

What do you like best about IBM Targetprocess?

Used TargetProcess in an enterprise setting with an IT department. The system appears to be very powerful, but also at times it seems to be like an elephant in the room. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Targetprocess?

You can easily get lost in the interface, especially when trying to create a filtered view of the project tasks you're most interested in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering IBM Targetprocess:

Your team members will probably need training to understand how the TargetProcess system works, as well as how your organization plans to use the capabilities of TargetProcess. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is IBM Targetprocess solving and how is that benefiting you?

From an organizational approach to using agile/scrum for project management, TargetProcess was used for tracking epics, user stories, tasks, and bugs for development efforts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Targetprocess makes ticketing easy as a support person and gives me an overview of sprints"

3/5

What do you like best about IBM Targetprocess?

I use Targetprocess on a daily basis as a support person for a software company. I like the fact that we have created custom templates and are able to differentiate between different level requests. Targetprocess gives us an entire overview of everything that is going on and what tickets need to be handled or followed up with. As a support person I am quickly filter out a particular client or request by using tags. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Targetprocess?

As a support person it can be tedious putting in a task and the UX seems clunky at times. This is definitely not a showstopper, but the UI could be a little more "light". Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering IBM Targetprocess:

I would recommend it as I do not know of any competitors. It's easy to see what our developers are doing in their sprints and it's easy for me as a support person to put in new requests. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is IBM Targetprocess solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use Targetprocess as a liaison between client services and our developers, this helps us keep track of all of our 1st level and 2nd level tickets. Using Targetprocess has helped us keep track of daily tickets and the email notifications let us know when there is a new comment on a ticket. We have also integrated Targetprocess with Slack which has tremendously helped our workflow because we are constantly up to date on our tickets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

2.5/5

What do you like best about IBM Targetprocess?

A lot of functionality like giving the commit number of GITHub is one of the features I really like. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Targetprocess?

I totally dislike the UI, it is very confusing and not intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is IBM Targetprocess solving and how is that benefiting you?

"Almost a great product"

2.5/5

What do you like best about IBM Targetprocess?

I like the ability to tie test cases to specific user stories. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Targetprocess?

There are several things that almost work the way I want except for one key thing. For instance, splitting a set of stories across two teams is kind of painful. Also, I liked the old TP2 interface and I miss having access to it. Searching by tags isn't intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering IBM Targetprocess:

I think Targetprocess is probably more effective for teams that use Kanban or other "card oriented" development methodologies. It is better if you have a single team working on each project. When there are multiple teams trying to access the same stories, things can get complicated and a little clunky. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is IBM Targetprocess solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use TP to track our work. We are an Agile/Scrum organization, so TP is the primary way we track user stories, test cases, epics, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

3/5

What do you like best about IBM Targetprocess?

With boards its possible to almost always show the data you need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Targetprocess?

Lacks a out-of-the box setup that works well for a standard development flow. Not so easy (though better than previously) to make cross-project releases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is IBM Targetprocess solving and how is that benefiting you?

Keeping track of development, from idea, to implementation to test Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
