Its ability to extend and use other systems in the company is enormous. **What do you dislike about IBM Sterling Order Management?** The tool still acts like a monolith. New growth projects run the risk of doing something wrong, by the fact that it can be done in many different ways. Significant challenge in managing the tool due to continued dependence on IE-only CSS and heavy Java-based consoles. No excuse at this point that the tool is missing a mobile app for tactical order support. More focused than the business console. **Recommendations to others considering IBM Sterling Order Management:** OMS is a huge tool. Know the business needs first, and engage a partner with broad experience supporting like clients. To "customize" IBM OMS is a matter of configuration most of the time, and not coding/development like other OMS platforms. Also, the fact that OMS is all services based and can handle the most complext order orchestration situations as well as the simplest (hint: even if you think your are simple, you probably arent) **What do you dislike about IBM Sterling Order Management?** The cost can seem prohibitive. It and some other back-end software help sync the order information (like prices, taxes, shipping, promos) to our Epicor software, Our old management system would not did not sync tax, but with IBM, it has decreased our workload due to that issue. ### 23. Multi store fronts or multiple buyer and seller organization. I like how it controls very complex logic just by creating one simple rule or by checking or adding some attributes in the existing pipeline. **What do you dislike about IBM Sterling Order Management?** I dislike the fact of Sterling commerce being very heavy product.Installing this requires large memory and maintenance of the product is also difficult. Comes with a rich client platform which again consume large space and not really very fast responsive. Sterling commerce is complex solution involves lot of complex rules and installation cycles. Costing for the product is real high. **Recommendations to others considering IBM Sterling Order Management:** I will recommend this product for organization with good budget and very complex business model to follow. You should have a good number of business logic involved in your business process like multiple shipment , order with large number of items of different categories, Product+ service orders,up selling and cross selling etc. **What problems is IBM Sterling Order Management solving and how is that benefiting you?** Solving almost all kind of retail business problems like optimization of cost, transportation.
