**What do you like best about IBM Planning Analytics?**

I use IBM Planning Analytics for budgeting, forecasting, and finance consolidation. It really helps me consolidate figures and manage data and security. I love that it enables multiple users to work at the same time. There are endless possibilities with it, and I haven't faced a problem yet that we can't solve. I value the ability to make applications that work for both advanced users and day-to-day tasks. It replaced multiple worksheets and automated a lot of previous manual work. The initial setup was easy.

Depending on the who implements this for you the learning curve can be challaging for some users

I use IBM Planning Analytics to consolidate figures, manage data and security, and enable multiple users. It replaced multiple worksheets and automated a lot of our manual processes.

Setting up dashboards, modeling data, or creating visuals often requires more clicks or technical steps.

IBM Planning Analytics offers fast, flexible modeling, integration with other software such as Excel and a powerful analytical tool. It also supports forecasting, data integration, etc.

In terms of disliking, It's requires proper training. This has very complex administration, limited number of templates, etc. Heavy reliance on Excel can also reduce the speed whlle working on big databases.

It solves disconnected, spreadsheet-driven planning by providing a fast, centralized TM1 engine for real-time forecasting and what-if analysis. 
As a Data Scientist, it enables seamless integration of ML outputs, quick scenario testing, scalable multidimensional modeling, and automated data flows through APIs. 
This helps me to bridge advanced analytics with enterprise planning.

Its a reliable tool for Budget and Forecasting. Easy to login, view financial statements, administer permissions for users and and is relatively quick for speed.

The pages look clunky and can look outdated, sometimes it can be hard to troubleshoot business rules and rule building in the cubes can be complex and with not many online resources available.

Doing budgeting and forecasting across multiple Business Units and incorporating some complicated accounting business rules.

Having trouble scaling complex calculations, especially with the inability to have a native "Average" function. Hard to keep up with new functionality being rolled out to customers.

We have been able to bring multiple siloed teams and processes together to have 1 integrated solution for our Business Management team. Allowed consistent forecasting and faster insights into collected data.

I like the fact that it is easy to use and easy to learn even as a non-technical person, it can be used for a multitude of applications from Reporting, to Process flow, to Data generation.

Implimentation is simple especially using IBM Planning Analytics Cloud, which also comes with a great support function with quick turn around SLA's.

**What do you dislike about IBM Planning Analytics?**

Managing the server, Planning Analytics is very versatile, but you need to watch the resource impact of your actions which are not always pobvious.

**What problems is IBM Planning Analytics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our business has diverse data sets and is spread across multiple sites. We need a tool to create summary Financial information for Planning, Forecasting and Reporting that peoiple can access and which is easy to use through an intuitive interface. This is Planning Analytics all over, its database access direct, work flow through Planning Analytics Workspace, "Pivot Table" in Excel style user inteface through Planning Analytics for Excel fits perfectly. We are also using Rules and Feeders and TurboIntegrator to generate dynamic forecasting to reduce the need for manual calculation of financial plans. 

The main benefit is that becuase we're finance people and therefore not IT specialists, the ease of writing code and designing structures makes it invaluale to us.

It is one of the most powerful forecasting and budgeting tools in the market right now. It excels in providing advanced forecasting, budgeting and planning capabilities. It allows real-time data access and collaboration across multiple departments. Also, the tool is highly scalable as per the business requirements.

The learning curve is quite steep and might take a lot of time to have a proper command on the tool. Cost of implementation and maintenance is also on the higher side. Also, experienced some performance issues with larger datasets.

It automated the time-consuming financial planning process, reducing the manual efforts in tasks like budget creation, forecasting and scenario modelling. It also centralizes data, ensuring we have a single source of truth.

IBM Support is quick on all P1 cases during production environment installations.

Integrating Cognos Analytics on AIX servers can be challenging, requiring multiple changes and additions to configuration files. Additionally, manually terminating cube refresh processes can be time-consuming, and occasionally, it becomes necessary to forcefully kill process IDs directly from the terminal

Being able to see the raw data has created so many opportunities for improvement all while being driven by AI to help in making those big decisions. The Real time analysis makes things a breeze.

It can be a complex program to understand right off the bat as there is a lot of features and information to absorb. But once you get used to it, it was a lot easier to pick up.
