What do you like best about IBM Power Servers?

IBM Power servers are powerful and very dependable; they may help your organization have nearly no downtime since all components can be replaced with no downtime when properly designed. IBM provides reliability, the power ecosystem works flawlessly together, and the hardware management panel makes server and virtual machine management as simple as feasible. HMC allows us to control all servers as well as resources such as CPU and memory. The operating system level backup option mksysb is a feature of the IBM AIX operating system that distinguishes it from the Linux operating system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Power Servers?

There aren't as many database support choices, startup time is fairly long compared to other physical servers, and OS patches aren't updated as regularly on IBM AIX, which occasionally impacts our production setups. After the first six years of operation, maintenance expenses skyrocket. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A system that is hard to go down and easy to inherit assets."
4/5
What do you like best about IBM Power Servers?

If you change the program and server settings, it will operate robustly, so it is recommended for core systems.

It is easy to operate once you remember the commands.

There is a reference for command operations on the IBM official website. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Power Servers?

Difficulty linking with other systems.

For example, it would be good to use the same backup solution as the IA server. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Better options to explore ?"
2/5
What do you like best about IBM Power Servers?

From what I heard their customer service is really good and they deliver on promise. It can be loaded with heavy tasks and continuous load and they can handle it. As there is a Linux option rather than closed infra it's easy for anyone to configure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IBM Power Servers?

It is simply not a viable option right now with the developed infrastructure around server racks. There are advanced heavy multithreading options and GU intense requirements that are not met properly here. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
