  ### 2. Good self service tools for looking at cloud costs

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2024

**What do you like best about IBM Cloudability?**

I like how people are able to see their cloud costs and opportunities through Cloudability through various charts and reports.

**What do you dislike about IBM Cloudability?**

Having to reprocess data when account mappings or business metrics change (rather than it being instantaneous)

**What problems is IBM Cloudability solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It lets us group accounts from multiple csp into specific tags and see those costs in one view. It benefits managers and engineers who want to view those details and share those betweens one another.

**Official Response from Janie Carothers:**

> Thank you for sharing your feedback on IBM Cloudability. We're glad to hear that you find the self-service tools helpful in analyzing cloud costs. We understand your concern about the reprocessing of data when account mappings or business metrics change. We are continuously working to improve our platform for a smoother user experience. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please feel free to reach out for support - Janie.Carothers@ibm.com.

  ### 3. Cloud Cost Management Solutions Need to evolve to cover non-cloud costs

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff J. | Job hunter extraordinaire, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about IBM Cloudability?**

Aption allowed me to report on and identify wasted cloud spend in multiple clouds.

**What do you dislike about IBM Cloudability?**

At the time Aptio didn't allow me to bring in non-cloud saas and paas spend. For example, competitors allow me to report on my monitoring costs, my cdn costs, my software licensing costs, etc which also need reporting an optimization. See Vantage and Finout for example.

**What problems is IBM Cloudability solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reporting and helping me understand the sources of my cloud spend. Seeing where that spend is coming from helps me focus on optimizing the most high impact areas for my clients business.

  ### 4. Cloudability is not as suited to smaller enterprises or startups in terms of TCO and ease of use

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2024

**What do you like best about IBM Cloudability?**

We reviewed Cloudability in a bakeoff with other vendors in the cloud cost optimization space
- It has multi cloud support
- Has a lot of bells and whistles for cloud costs especially on AWS & GCP

**What do you dislike about IBM Cloudability?**

- Pricing being a % of spend is not scalable as it drives the wrong incentives
- Overly complicated setup for getting onboarded
- Tailoring the reporting was much harder

**What problems is IBM Cloudability solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Driving cost optimization in cloud spending is a key for driving efficiencies and profitability and we need a tool that is easy to use, integrates into our setup and provides reporting for different teams like finance, cloud operations etc.
