The Ibexa content model, permission system and templating/content-extraction are it's strong suites. It is a plaform built for organizations that have needs for growth, stability and performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is a platform best suited for professional or skilled developers. It applies many good development principles and CMS concepts which may be challenging for new developers at first. Also performance tuning the websites can require different skill sets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The elements that seem very interesting to me are:

- automation via Ibexa Connect

- various integrations aimed at optimizing marketing processes and personalizing the user journey.

Unfortunately, these integrations are not within the scope of our needs at the moment.

Other appreciated elements used in the context of our project:

- Site context (in multisite)

- Multi-positioning

- back office interface:

- multilingual: some shortcomings noted

- optimization of the default language for a multilingual and multisite site (our first site being in French, if the default language of a site in the ecosystem is not French, it creates some translation difficulties for the interface regardless of the language the user has chosen).

- contributed content does not display in the language chosen by the user but in the initial language of the skeleton

- display and ordering of object lists in the back office: difficult to find the settings and especially once found, persistence of these settings (they reset with each browser refresh)

- absence or complexity of translating interface strings, especially during custom development.

- contribution:

- lack of block library functionality + reusable blocks

- content tree:

- on multisites, facilitate access to essential modules (media, taxonomy...)

- more possibilities for creating elements on the fly rather than having to go back through the content tree, displaying content lists, ordering them....

- media:

- media contribution process a bit complex --> often have to go back through the content tree (when we are on multisites)

- sorely lacking a search field for images in the media section

- saving and persistence of configs (export and import system for configs like on Drupal for example)

- Forms:

- no conditional fields

- phone field (with country prefix selection)

- security:

- a native CSP/HSTS section would be welcome

Its versatility and adaptability to my rather complex needs. It has never failed, and I am only limited by my imagination. The richness and breadth of features, as well as the addition of options, enhance the product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The internal cost of version upgrades and the complexity of certain functions that remain quite "standard" on other CMSs in the market. For example, the addition of blocks for contribution that need to be developed by agencies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Ibexa keeps getting better! I still really appreciate the passionate and responsive team. Lately, I’ve been enjoying how flexible and extensible the platform is—it’s easy to build on. Ibexa PIM still lacks some features, but it’s great to see the partnership with Quable, that should help fill those gaps. One thing that could be improved is the admin interface. It’s not a progressive web app, so it feels a bit slow with each action. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Ibexa DXP usability is very strong. The Admin UI is polished, modern and intuitive for Admins and Editors. The interface is fast and clean. Modern CMS/DXP products can struggle with the amount of features available to Admins. Ibexa DXP is streamlined to make editing quick and easy. The Page Builder was ahead of it's time by several years. The interface is highly customizable by developers and adding enhancements is well documented and extensible. The Ibexa DXP deployment can be self-hosted or via a platform-as-a-service PaaS contract. The DXP annual licensing with PaaS could be more competitive. Clients may opt for self-hosting given scaling and performance ROI. That said, the PaaS monitoring and support with can be worth the price for some clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Ibexa is the ideal solution for me for enterprise customers with complex requirements. I am particularly convinced by the integrated DXP ecosystem, which combines modular functions such as personalization, headless CMS, and e-commerce. This architecture allows us to implement individual customer solutions efficiently and scalably – technically flexible and economically sensible.

Limited visibility in the market: Despite a very good technical foundation, Ibexa does not (yet) have the same level of international recognition as Adobe or Sitecore, which can be a disadvantage for customers with a strong brand orientation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
