## Hygraph Reviews
  ### 1. Needs a lot of improvement

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arnab C. | Process Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Hygraph?**

The interface is good. I like the tool to import figures.

**What do you dislike about Hygraph?**

-- The lack of autosave is one of the biggest flaws. If there is an accidental back click on mouse before one saves the content of one section, you can loose an hour of work because it goes out of the edit interface and there is no way to retrieve it. We are in 2025. Autosave option should be a "NO BRAINER"!!!!!

-- Another very flawed design is the edit and delete buttons side by side for sections. If one accidentally clicks the delete, the section will be gone and you can loose days of work. For this maybe not saving that will be a way to save the content, still it is a very very flawed design.

**What problems is Hygraph solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our organization uses hygraph for content creation for our subscribers.

  ### 2. It's extremely difficult to understand what it is that I'm editing.

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Hygraph?**

The ability to change text in production is incredible.

**What do you dislike about Hygraph?**

I don't know what I'm changing and where. ATM to really know what you're changing, you need to know the code and be technical. Teaching that to someone who isn't technical would require writting steps down to make changes.

**What problems is Hygraph solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We won't want to deploye each time we need a copy change. We also want to be able to make changes w/o the involvement of tech people (this one's partially solved as I stated before).

  ### 3. GraphCMS was a disaster.

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2020

**What do you like best about Hygraph?**

The live graphql editing was a useful feature.

**What do you dislike about Hygraph?**

Our experience with graphcms has been uniformly negative.

When we deployed on the platform our production site would regularly be broken due to how what is now called 'legacy graphcms' worked internally. Specifically any edits to our content would cause some kind of cache invalidation in graphcms and our entire site would go down due to being unable to access content.

Further, the way content editing works on the legacy platform was unusable by our marketing team. Specifically the way drafts worked caused content to disappear from our site b/c once an object was set to draft it would disappear from the published site.

We are extremely dissatisfied with our experience and are now faced with graphcms forcing us to do more work to migrate off of your legacy platform onto your new platform. We have 0 confidence that this work is useful or warranted based on our experience with the legacy system.

**What problems is Hygraph solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We intended to solve the classic content management problem but instead where faced with a terrible experience of a broken site we couldn't edit.

**Official Response from Michael Lukaszczyk:**

> Hi there, and thank you for sharing your feedback with us! We appreciate all the concerns you've brought forward, and I'd like to address a few of them which I hope may help in clearing some potential misunderstandings between the legacy v. current GraphCMS, as well as some expected behaviours.

Unfortunately, I'm unable to address the specific concern around "content stages" in your feedback, given that the expected behaviour of a CMS would be to stop "sending" content to the frontend once its status was changed from `PUBLISHED` to `DRAFT`, as that would mean the content isn't "ready" to be publicly visible.

And as for the migration, I would encourage you to reach out to us if you're facing obstacles in trying out the new GraphCMS! We've made some relatively large changes when we released the new version back in April 2020, with a host of new features that our legacy product could not support.

We've rolled out the new GraphCMS in April this year, and the migration is a simple step solved by a few clicks, you can refer to the process on our migration guide here: https://graphcms.com/blog/migrating-to-the-new-graphcms

Given that this is an anonymous review and we can't directly connect it with a project or team, we'd love to learn more about your concerns and address them ASAP to avoid any miscommunications on the expected behaviour.

Please reach out to us via the onsite chat or via support@graphcms.com, and the team and I will gladly help sort this out for you!
