"Consistently Reliable with Intuitive Setup"
5/5
What do you like best about HYCU?

I like that HYCU is simple and continually just works with very few issues over 5 years. I appreciate the delegation of roles and data access within Office 365 backups, allowing other team members or non-technical people to access their data, so they can restore their own data. The interface in HYCU is simpler to configure and maintain compared to Veeam. The initial setup was very easy, with HYCU support assisting us; it was up and running in minutes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HYCU?

Until recently, upgrading the Nutanix on-prem software could be a little time-consuming, requiring manual downloading and uploading of images. There has been a recent update to make this much smoother now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"HYCU: simple and cloud-native deployment, effective Microsoft 365 backup"
5/5
What do you like best about HYCU?

HYCU stands out for its simplicity of deployment and its cloud-native approach. The tool allows for the quick protection of environments like Microsoft 365 without complex infrastructure. Centralized management, granular restorations, and global visibility offer a real time-saving advantage in operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HYCU?

On the automation side, HYCU remains quite limited as soon as one moves beyond standard use cases. The solution is very effective in a "set and forget" logic with simple predefined policies, which is ideal for quick deployments. However, this simplicity comes at the expense of flexibility for more complex environments. [hycu.com] Specifically:

Advanced scheduling capabilities remain relatively limited, with few detailed options to orchestrate complex backup scenarios. [g2.com] Automation relies mainly on built-in mechanisms rather than customizable workflows (such as multi-step orchestration). Integration possibilities via API exist, but they are less rich than in more mature solutions, which limits advanced automation scenarios (CI/CD integration, DR automation). "API-Driven Backup That Protects Modern VMs and SaaS Effortlessly"
5/5
What do you like best about HYCU?

Instead of forcing old, heavy backup software into modern environments, HYCU connects directly via APIs. It protects everything from standard VMs to niche SaaS tools (like Jira, Okta, and GitHub) and visualizes your entire data estate automatically. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HYCU?

Because it’s built purely for modern hyperconverged and cloud environments, it falls short if your data center still relies on bare-metal physical servers or legacy hypervisors like Hyper-V. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kelly Pease of HYCU

Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful review! We're glad to hear that HYCU's API-driven approach is working well for your environment, protecting everything from VMs to SaaS tools like Jira, Okta, and GitHub is exactly what we're built for.

"Simple and Efficient Backup for Nutanix Environments"
4/5
What do you like best about HYCU?

What I like best about HYCU is how easy it is to use while still being powerful. The integration with Nutanix is seamless, backup management is straightforward, and it simplifies protecting both on-premises and cloud workloads Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HYCU?

What I dislike most about HYCU is the lack of an efficient file indexing/search feature. It can be difficult to quickly find a specific file when you need to restore it, particularly in large backup environments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kelly Pease of HYCU

Thank you for your review! We're glad to hear that the Nutanix integration, ease of use and simplified management of both on-premises and cloud workloads have been working well for you.

What do you like best about HYCU?

Completing the HYCU Admin Certification has been an excellent experience that significantly enhanced my understanding of modern data protection and hybrid-cloud backup strategies.

"Simplify O365 Backups with an Intuitive Interface"
5/5
What do you like best about HYCU?

I love the simplicity of using the HYCU interface. It's great that HYCU is connected to my O365 instance and that each active licensed account is automatically brought into HYCU without any action on my part. It's really convenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HYCU?

I would have liked to have a single unified administration center for O365 and Azure. It would also be useful for O365 accounts to see if an account hasn't logged in for more than 15 days to avoid forgetting licenses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Kelly Pease of HYCU

Dear Fabrice,

Thank you for your review! We're thrilled to hear that the simplicity of the interface and automatic account syncing with your O365 instance have been making your life easier.

We appreciate your feedback on a unified administration center and will make sure it's passed along to our product team.

"Easy to deploy and use"
4.5/5
What do you like best about HYCU?

A very strong immutable backup solution, there are few natively immutable solutions on the market, and this is without a doubt a strong contender. The rapid recovery times are a huge factor for this too.

All of this if designed from the ground up with ease of use and implementation in mind. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HYCU?

"Hycu Makes Backup Setup Simple and Flexible"
4.5/5
What do you like best about HYCU?

Hycu is simple to set up. It’s easy to create profiles and add additional backup options as needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HYCU?

The Nutanix update process feels a bit clunky. I have to upload the image, rename it, and then run the update. (NB: I believe this has changed for future updates.) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
