I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Hunter.io was extremely disappointing. I purchased the platform specifically to save time sourcing professional email contacts. Instead, I spent hours manually correcting spreadsheets, cleaning names, fixing domains, rerunning lists, and going back and forth with multiple customer support representatives just to get usable results. In the end, only about 7% of the results were actually usable. Support themselves acknowledged multiple issues with how the uploaded data was being interpreted, including mismatched company domains, improperly processed names, and rows that were “never going to return anything.” At that point, the software became more manual work than simply doing the research myself. What made the experience worse was the refusal to issue a refund despite the poor outcome and extensive documented support interactions. Instead of resolving it fairly, I was offered account credits and a subscription extension for a service I no longer trust or intend to use. I tried repeatedly to handle this professionally and avoid escalation, but ultimately had to file a chargeback through my bank because I genuinely do not believe the service delivered the functionality or value that was advertised. I love how clean it is, and I like how you can do alot more than just verify emails on the platform. Most verification platforms are really painful to use, and Hunter makes it easy without the clutter. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Hunter? When it comes to just the verification part, it's wayy too expensive.. There's tools like ClearOut that do alot of what Hunter does for alot cheaper. I think they should price email verification out seperately instead of merging it into an all-in-one price subscription. When even comparing them to Bouncer which is priced a bit higher for example. It's like 5x more expensive. You only get 1,000 verifications for $49 or 10,000 for $149, where Bouncer is $35 for 5,000 and $60 for 10,000 verifications. The pricing just doesn't make sense. I don't recommend Hunter for anyone unless you're using it for free with less than 25 tests per month, or on the absolute lowest tier if you want to use their other features. This applied to all users in Hunter and it was not limited to some people as you mentioned in your review. In August we sent you and all the other users in Hunter 3 emails and published a blog post (https://blog.hunter.io/we-are-shutting-down-our-linkedin-integration-d47b898a2623) regarding the LinkedIn's integration removal and it a bit surprising that after 6 months from the removal you are sharing a review on this. I wanted to remind you that LinkedIn's new Terms of Use prohibits the use of any extension on its website. In clear, ANY extension that automates some actions on LinkedIn or saves any data is violating the User Agreement and all users using them are violating it too. At Hunter, we preferred to be transparent, remove the integration and warn our users that integrating with LinkedIn may cause a permanent ban on their LinkedIn accounts. Using a scraping tool or an extension on LinkedIn can be a risk for your account: we receive emails daily from people using extensions that do not comply with LinkedIn's regulations and ask how they can find emails without breaking the Terms of Use. ​ Due to this, we have replaced the LinkedIn integration with a new Email Finder functionality that allows finding the email of a person by simply typing the full name and company directly in Hunter. ​ If you need assistance to use the Email Finder tool simply get back to us at contact@hunter.io.
