## Human Interest Reviews
 ### 1. Exceptional Support and Seamless 401k Integration for Franchise Owners

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lindsay M. | Owner & Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

As a new franchise owner in the home care industry, improving employee satisfaction and retention was one of my top priorities. After gathering feedback from both applicants and current employees, a clear trend emerged: they were looking for more employee-sponsored benefits, particularly 401(k) options.

I reached out to several providers and ultimately chose Human Interest for a few key reasons. From my very first conversation, their customer support was exceptional and has remained consistent throughout the process. The entire implementation was smooth—Human Interest seamlessly integrated with my payroll company and bookkeeper, which made everything more efficient. The platform itself is user-friendly, not only for me as the plan administrator but also for our employees.

Additionally, the flexibility and features offered are exactly what we needed, and the pricing is unbeatable. I’m confident this will have a positive impact on both employee retention and overall satisfaction, and I’m glad I chose Human Interest to help us build a strong benefits offering.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I do not have any negatives at this time.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest is providing 401k services that help my employees plan for retirement.

 ### 2. Effortless and Smooth—The System Takes Care of Everything!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Neda S. | President and CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Its easy and I don't have to do much. They system takes care of everything and any tasks I do have to do are simple

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Nothing really. It has been very smooth transitioning

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its integrated into my payroll so I don't have to do a separate payment for 401ks. It also automatically tells me when someone is eligible and communicates with employees directly

 ### 3. Human Interest Support through Challenging Transition

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Human Interest has made it pretty easy to get support -- I had a challenging transition off my old plan and I could always get access to someone on the customer service team. They even sent reminders when I was behind on my follow-ups to keep the process moving

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

The process for the transfer over to HI was very long. I also dislike that there aren't great options for more ethical investments (that avoid Blackrock, Fidelity, and others that fund concentration camps in the US)

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making it easy to manage retirement for myself and my team

 ### 4. Easy 401(k) Administration With Pricing and Increases that Have Been Tough for Our Small Business

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

It’s been extremely easy to administer for our company, and it’s also straightforward to navigate as a user. The rollover from my previous IRA was seamless, and the investment options are solid. As the administrator, I get an email notification with every payroll, so I don’t have to go searching for the amounts we need for bookkeeping.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

We’re a very small company, and the fees are borderline difficult for us to manage. I’m also unclear why we have to pay the rollover fee every month. On top of that, we’re still paying for past employees, and I wish there were a way to encourage them to roll over their accounts to their new companies. After I talked our company owner into keeping Human Interest and justified the cost, our costs increased, and I’m worried that could keep happening.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had previously offered our employees a SEP IRA but knew that a 401k was a more desirable option so we switched. Unfortunately due to the economy downturn we have downsized and are not hiring in the near future so while our current employees are happy to have it, we can't use it to attract new talent right now.

**Official Response from Kathy Yoo-Naut:**

> Thank you for sharing this feedback. We would love to speak about your situation in more detail but we are unable to identify you. For security purposes, please follow these steps: after logging in, click Support at the top of your dashboard and request for your case to be escalated in the chat.

 ### 5. Reliable 401k Solutions for Small Teams

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Blake P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like how reliable and easy to use Human Interest is. The UI is clean, making the user dashboard easy to navigate, especially compared to other financial services websites I've used before. There are plenty of investment options for our employees to choose from, which is impressive. The initial setup was really easy, and they helped throughout the process. As the plan admin, I find the tech very intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

There isn't a lot of interaction with a rep, but admittedly, we aren't a very large account for them, so if I do need help I try to find it through a help article first.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest helps manage our 401k plan without a robust HR team. It's reliable, easy to use, and the clean UI makes navigation simple. There are plenty of investment options for employees.

 ### 6. Robust Investment Options, but Customer Service and Go-Live Issues Hurt

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric R. | Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Investment portfolio is quite robust. They offer quite a bit to select which has made my employees feel very comfortable with their platform.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Customer Service, over reliance with chats, lack of being able to call your representative. We had to really complain loudly to get our conversion done to their portal. they messed up the original go live date and employees could not shelter money on the go live date.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Presently Human Interest is not solving problems and in fact is causing problems. Investment choices while robust are enormously difficult to select.

**Official Response from Kathy Yoo-Naut:**

> I'm sorry that your issues have not been resolved promptly, Eric. Thank you for your feedback.

 ### 7. Streamlined 401(k) Solutions with Excellent Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lori M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like that everything with Human Interest is pretty much automated, making things quite simple. The process of setting everything up was fairly easy, and most issues I faced came from my previous 401k provider. I find the website very straightforward to use. Even though I can't directly call, I appreciate that I can request a meeting or email and get a quick response from their team.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

There is one issue I came across with Human Interest, which is the vesting schedule not accounting for our prior three and a half years with another 401k provider. It's being treated as if it's brand new. I haven't had a chance to address this issue as I just discovered it.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest automates everything and makes any changes simple to handle.

 ### 8. Easy Employee Interface and Low Fees, but Limited Investments and Some Support Challenges

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

The ease of interface for employees is amazing and the low fees are a huge plus.
The integration with Quickbooks was a major factor in both compliance and ongoing support.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

It can be difficult to handle questions and to interface with customer support. There isn't as many investment options as some employees would prefer.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest helps to connect our payroll with our 401k solution, without costing a lot of money and all while making our employee's experience relatively simple.

 ### 9. Effortless Setup and Excellent Employee Experience

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like that Human Interest makes it easy to provide retirement benefits for employees, even though we're a small business. It's very easy to set up, which I appreciate, and from an administrative point of view, it was straightforward. The employees found it fairly easy to establish their accounts, and they reported having an excellent experience utilizing the options available. Additionally, the investment choices available to the employees were robust and sufficient.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Would say the only thing would be to get lower cost.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest enabled us to provide retirement benefits for employees even though we are a small business. It was very easy to set up, and our employees found it easy to establish their accounts with robust and sufficient investment choices.

 ### 10. Effortless 401(k) Management with Great Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Meghann C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like that access is very easy, and the online portal is also very simple to use. It's generally pretty straightforward to get into customer service when there's an issue, without much difficulty. Human Interest is a pretty intuitive program, making it much more easily accessible and customer-facing, especially for our employees. It seems a lot easier for them to access information for their own 401(k). The initial setup was fairly easy as well, with guidance through the transfer process, and all our employees were able to access their accounts without issue.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

No issues.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest lets us manage a combined 401(k) for employees across two companies. It's intuitive and user-friendly, making it easier for employees to access their 401(k) information. The online portal is straightforward, and customer service is easily accessible.

 ### 11. Effortless 401(k) Management with Helpful Support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I find Human Interest easy for onboarding people, giving them flexible options to manage their personal accounts. The administrator dashboard lets me easily see who's participating and allows me to answer any questions our employees may have. I don't have to spend a lot of time managing our 401(k) benefits because Human Interest does much of the work for me. It's also relatively turnkey, integrating easily with my HR platform and requiring no manual data entry.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Sometimes I feel it's a little difficult to connect directly with a human being if I have any questions or concerns. But in the cases that I have needed to reach out, the customer service reps that have responded to me via chat or email have always been helpful and have been able to answer any problems I had to my satisfaction.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Human Interest to easily onboard employees to our 401k, giving them low-cost fund options and self-management. It integrates with my HR platform, so I don't manually enter data.

**Official Response from Tarik Covington:**

> Hi there, we are very appreciative of the feedback that you provided. We are glad to see that our platform has been able to support your growth. We aim to make our platform very easy to implement and administer for our customers. Thank you for choosing Human Interest!

-The Human Interest Team

 ### 12. Troublesome Onboarding with Potential for Growth

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jaclyn R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I liked that at first the onboarding seemed decent. I appreciate the online portal that's easy to separate company from private, especially as a small business because I'm an employee of the company. It makes it easy to differentiate between the company and me as an employee.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I did not like the onboarding process with Human Interest. We were kind of screwed over because they told us we could just stop our SEP IRA plan and start the new 401(k) plan. But a year later, they said we weren't legally allowed to do that. Even though we made all the contributions to the SEP plan in the first half of the year, we were legally obligated to make them again for the 401(k). They had initially totally told us it was fine, and when issues came up, they basically just told us to get a lawyer. Now we're trying to get the right documents and legal help, which is also very difficult. Looking back, I'm very disgruntled.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest automates 401k management and lets employees change contributions themselves, without needing admin involvement. It integrates well with Gusto and Xero, simplifying payment processes.

**Official Response from Anthony Gomes:**

> Jaclyn, We're sorry we didn't meet your expectations. We would love to speak about your situation in more detail but we are unable to identify you. For security purposes, please follow these steps: after logging in, click Support at the top of your dashboard and request for your case to be escalated in the chat.

 ### 13. Effortless 401(k) Management with Seamless HR Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** JoJo J. | Human Resources Consultant

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I find Human Interest really easy to use. When I hire new people in our HRIS Gusto, they automatically sync over to Human Interest, and employees receive the invite to access the platform and their benefits once they become eligible. I also get timely notifications, and it's very intuitive to use. It offboards employees as well, making the administrative functional component seamless. I love the automation of it all, which works perfectly for us.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I really haven't had any major issues. Recently, I had one employee for some reason that was not able to access the system. Then they were. So I escalated it via chat. I think their chatbot, AI assistant is very helpful.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Human Interest to distribute our 401(k) policy. It solves the problem of providing a 401(k) plan for employees and integrates with our HRIS, Gusto. It's easy to use, syncs new hires, sends notifications, and offboards employees seamlessly, streamlining administrative functions.

 ### 14. Easy Enrollment, But Distribution Delays and Poor Follow-Up

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** LaTanya J. | CSM, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Enrolling and funding my account through my employer was easy. Making changes to my allocations and investments were also very simple.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

When my employment ended and I requested distribution via check to move to my new plan they never sent the check. Attempts to reach out to them were long and drawn out. It’s been over a month and I still do not have my funds.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At this time they are solving no benefits for me.

**Official Response from Kathy Yoo-Naut:**

> I'm very sorry that you haven't received a response to your inquiries, LaTanya. This is not the level of service we aim to provide. A member of our Customer Advocacy team will contact you directly to discuss your experience, as we're always looking to improve the customer experience. Thank you for your patience, and we are committed to improving our communication.

 ### 15. Seamless 401(k) Management with Responsive Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like how Human Interest helped with onboarding and employee education. It offers a variety of options for employee contributions, making it easy to provide a 401(k) program for my small business. The Human Interest team is responsive to my questions and quick to provide help. The initial setup was very easy and only took a couple of phone calls.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

We had an issue with the setup for a few of my new employees. They received a 401k match prior to their six months when they should have received the match. But Human Interest worked with my payroll provider to help reverse the error quickly.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest makes it easy to provide a 401(k) program for my small business. They helped with onboarding, employee education, and offers a variety of options for employee contribution.

 ### 16. Simple, Transparent 401(k) That Actually Works for Startups

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nick M. | COO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

The user interface is clean and intuitive for both administrators and employees. As a founder, I appreciated how straightforward the setup process was, especially the payroll integration with Gusto, which made implementation smooth and largely automated. The dashboard makes it easy to manage contributions, eligibility, and compliance without feeling buried in legal or technical complexity. Customer support has also been responsive and knowledgeable when we’ve had questions.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

While the platform is easy to use, some plan customization options and advanced reporting features can feel limited unless you upgrade service tiers. For a growing company with evolving needs, you sometimes need to engage support to make changes that feel like they could be more self-serve. Additionally, as with most 401(k) providers, understanding the full fee structure for employees requires clear communication to ensure team members fully grasp investment costs.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest solved the operational and compliance burden of launching a 401(k) as a startup. We wanted to offer competitive benefits to attract and retain talent, but we did not have internal HR bandwidth to manage a complex retirement plan. The payroll integration, automation of contributions, and built-in compliance support significantly reduced administrative overhead. It allowed us to offer a meaningful retirement benefit without hiring additional back-office staff or spending excessive time managing paperwork. For a growing company, that time savings and peace of mind are real value.

 ### 17. Amazing service and quality

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brie C. | Founder & CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

The customer service is fantastic. Onboarding was a breeze and it took no time at all to get all my questions answered. It made providing a 401K plan for myself and my employees insanely easy. The interface for both employers and employees is super easy to use and intuitive. We've loved using Human Interest for our 401K plan.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I haven't found anything I dislike about Human Interest in the year we've been working together.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest is taking all of the admin work out of providing a 401K plan for our employees. They handle everything and I don't even have to think about it. It saves me and my operations manager so much effort and time.

 ### 18. Cost-Effective and Efficient 401k Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Indred A.

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I found Human Interest to be very cost-effective and efficient. It was easy to set up, especially compared to other 401(k) retirement plans. It saved me a lot of time in finding a good 401(k) plan for me and my employees, which was a requirement in Minnesota. Overall, the setup was fairly easy even though I had some issues as an employer, but working with one of their account executives made the process smooth.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

It was a little confusing to set up the online account and answer all the questions, so I did have to work with one of their account executives, which made it a lot easier once I did. But it was something that I could not complete on my own from beginning to end.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest allows me to save for retirement and set up a savings plan for employees. It's cost-effective, efficient, and easy to set up, saving me time. It's a good fit as it's required in my state for my company.

 ### 19. Seamless 401(k) Migration and Transition Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tal M. | Controller, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

The transition and migration fro our pre-existing 401k platform was seamless.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

None that I can think of. It would be great if they had more investment options, i.e. more mutual fund offerings.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest is helping our firm solve our 401k management and seamlessly integrating with our payroll platform, Rippling.

 ### 20. Simple Setup and Helpful Support Made Getting Started Easy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rachel M. | PC LAN Analyst III, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Creating the account was very simple. I worked with 2 people and they answered my questions and setting everything up went off without a hitch.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

The processing fee is a bit more than I would expect.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest handles my company's 401k processing.

 ### 21. Effortless 401(k) Administration, But Needs Better Support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer B. | Director of People Operations

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like that Human Interest is very easy to use, especially as an administrator. It's pretty much hands-free from my perspective, and if I need to verify things or have questions, I can usually find the answers once I log in to the website. I also appreciate that it integrates well with our HRIS and payroll system, making the initial setup pretty easy.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Their customer service is quite weak. There are many times when we need to actually speak with a human, and it is hard to get through to someone on the phone. Often, it takes many calls and many weeks to get something resolved.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Human Interest easy to use with seamless integration into our HRIS and payroll. It’s mostly hands-free, and I can verify things easily online. However, customer service needs improvement, as it's difficult to reach a human and resolution can take weeks.

 ### 22. Efficient 401K Administration, But Needs Better Support

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amy Z.

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like that Human Interest makes it easy for employees to onboard and has an easy and intuitive dashboard. It handles all the administrative work for managing a 401K plan for small businesses.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I have had very mixed experiences with my Account Managers. I had one who was very thorough and one with whom I have had many problems getting my questions answered. I think that the Account Managers are not well trained on the product. They can give straightforward information but when any problems or questions arise they seem very unable to help. I think it must be poor training. Again not that easy because I was given incorrect information by the person who onboarded me.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest manages all functions of administrating a 401K plan for small businesses. It makes onboarding easy for employees and provides an easy and intuitive dashboard, handling all the administrative work.

**Official Response from Anthony Gomes:**

> Thank you for sharing this feedback, Amy. I'm sorry to hear you've been facing some inconsistencies. This is not the experience we want anyone to have, and our team is now actively investigating to resolve this as quickly as possible. A member of our Customer Advocacy team will contact you directly to discuss your experience, as we are always looking to improve the customer experience. Thank you for your patience while we work to make this right.

 ### 23. Seamless 401K Integration with Quick Setup

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I really appreciate that Human Interest was easy to set up, taking less than an hour. The concierge help is available, which is super helpful, and it integrates with QuickBooks seamlessly. I also switched from Cal Savers to Human Interest because it offers more flexibility in plan options, which I find valuable for my small business.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I think having a small business startup intro course that is short would help familiarize the employer with the platform. I also feel the mobile app could be improved. Additionally, integrating with other wealth management fintechs would allow for easy tracking of finances and portfolios.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest provides compliant 401K options in California, offers profit-sharing retirement plans, was easy to set up, offers concierge help, and integrates with QuickBooks.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like that Human Interest is easy to use and integrates well with my payroll system, making it effortless to set up. It was very easy to get started since the people at Rippling, including my sales rep, were easy to work with. In just two meetings, we had the plan set up, and the deductions were automatically made based on the processed payroll. Overall, I find it easy to track and use.

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

The onboarding experience was smooth and fast, which gave us peace of mind - especially since it happened during the period when Guideline was acquired by Gusto, and we were “forced” to find a new 401(k) vendor.

On top of that, the UX made it very easy to navigate the product from start to finish.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

It has a few UI glitches that sometimes force us to reach out to their support team for help.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Overall, 401(k) plan management is reason enough to use HI, especially for people who may be unfamiliar with how it works. On top of that, their training and knowledge base for related topics is spot-on and easy to follow.

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like how easy it was to set up retirement plans for my employees. Onboarding forms are easily automated and all you need to do is click a button to send to new employees when they start.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

In my personal investments, I like being able to specifically choose stocks. I don't like that it pre-selects specific investments, you just choose investment types and allocation.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest allows me to offer retirement savings for my employees. As a small nonprofit, options are either expensive or run through the state which is not a great solution. I like that Human Interest cared about me both as a consumer of their products and as an employer. Even when I was considering leaving, they came to the table and wanted to keep my business. The integration with my payroll provider is helpful and allows me to save money for my future. The initial setup was also very easy.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

A piece that I don't like is that in the future, it's not going to integrate as well with my payroll provider. Due to Gusto buying Guideline and becoming one company, they're no longer serving Human Interest in the same way.

I like the ease of use. We moved from them to a different provider because of their customer service, but in the meantime, they became way better, more responsive and more accurate in their answers.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I did not like their previous way to answer their customers. They improved that a lot

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Need more humans - haha! No really, all these computer applications replaced human interaction. Not warm and fuzzy enough.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't have to worry so much about California's mandatory retirement accounts. But this account will be a problem when our introductory fee schedule goes away. It will be too expensive for us. We are very small.

It’s straightforward to use for both the company and employees. Support is available whenever it’s needed, and the pricing is good, too.

They give us an overview of what we're spending as employees and as employers, which is really helpful. The initial setup of Human Interest was super easy.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest solves the problem of organizing a 401(k), allowing my coworkers and me to save for retirement effectively.

**Official Response from Kathy Yoo-Naut:**

> I'm very sorry that you haven't received a response to your inquiries, Susan. This is not the level of service we aim to provide. A member of our Customer Advocacy team will contact you directly to discuss your experience, as we're always looking to improve the customer experience. Thank you for your patience, and we are committed to improving our communication.

I like how simple and easy the user interface is. I also like being able to quickly see my balance and growth in my 401k account. It’s nice to be able to easily adjust my contribution amount and see how much my employer contributes. I’m a current customer of Human Interest, and I'm writing this review in exchange for a $25 gift card incentive, which creates a material conflict of interest as it creates a financial incentive to write a favorable review.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

It would be nice if there were a mobile app to view and manage things from my phone more easily. Additionally, (this could be the plan I’m on) but it would be nice to have visibility and the ability to manage what my investments.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Our rep Amber Wilson for introductions to our clients has been incredible to work with. Transitions from other plans to Human Interest went seamlessly.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Not a dislike but a frustration was trying to setup an introduction straight from our payroll software to get someone in touch with our client. The person who responded did not at all understand I was trying to get them in touch with the client versus reaching out myself on behalf of the client to get it all going. When we initiate it through Gusto as the payroll provider, in the past there has been a money incentive for getting clients/employers set up. The option didn't work so I had to reach out to the rep to handle which forfeits my incentive.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is nice that they take on all aspects of contacting employees and contributions.
