## Human Interest Reviews
 ### 1. Great interface and customer service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aleksander M. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Human Interest makes retirement planning feel much simpler and more accessible than traditional providers. The platform is intuitive and transparent, and it doesn’t overwhelm you with financial jargon—everything is laid out in a way that’s easy to follow. The payroll integration is seamless, so contributions happen automatically without any manual effort. That reliability, along with the overall ease of use, really stands out.

The main upsides of using Human Interest are accessibility and transparency, strong automation, solid support and compliance, and scalability as your needs grow.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

While the platform is streamlined, sometimes the simplicity means there’s less flexibility for those who want more advanced investment customization or specialized fund choices. The focus is on automation, which is great for many, but it can feel limiting if you prefer a more hands-on role in managing your investments.

Another challenge is customer support. Although generally responsive, there can be delays during peak times, and answers sometimes feel scripted rather than personalized.

Downsides of using Human Interest include:
-Limited Investment Options
-Customer Service Response Times
-Employer Costs

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest solves the complexity, cost, and compliance challenges of offering a retirement plan by automating filings, integrating with payroll, and simplifying the process end-to-end. For me, that means less administrative burden, peace of mind on compliance, and a straightforward way for employees (and myself) to confidently build long-term savings.

 ### 2. Effortless 401(k) Administration, But Needs Better Support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer B. | Director of People Operations

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like that Human Interest is very easy to use, especially as an administrator. It's pretty much hands-free from my perspective, and if I need to verify things or have questions, I can usually find the answers once I log in to the website. I also appreciate that it integrates well with our HRIS and payroll system, making the initial setup pretty easy.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Their customer service is quite weak. There are many times when we need to actually speak with a human, and it is hard to get through to someone on the phone. Often, it takes many calls and many weeks to get something resolved.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Human Interest easy to use with seamless integration into our HRIS and payroll. It’s mostly hands-free, and I can verify things easily online. However, customer service needs improvement, as it's difficult to reach a human and resolution can take weeks.

 ### 3. Efficient 401K Administration, But Needs Better Support

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amy Z.

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like that Human Interest makes it easy for employees to onboard and has an easy and intuitive dashboard. It handles all the administrative work for managing a 401K plan for small businesses.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I have had very mixed experiences with my Account Managers. I had one who was very thorough and one with whom I have had many problems getting my questions answered. I think that the Account Managers are not well trained on the product. They can give straightforward information but when any problems or questions arise they seem very unable to help. I think it must be poor training. Again not that easy because I was given incorrect information by the person who onboarded me.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest manages all functions of administrating a 401K plan for small businesses. It makes onboarding easy for employees and provides an easy and intuitive dashboard, handling all the administrative work.

**Official Response from Anthony Gomes:**

> Thank you for sharing this feedback, Amy. I'm sorry to hear you've been facing some inconsistencies. This is not the experience we want anyone to have, and our team is now actively investigating to resolve this as quickly as possible. A member of our Customer Advocacy team will contact you directly to discuss your experience, as we are always looking to improve the customer experience. Thank you for your patience while we work to make this right.

 ### 4. Effortless 401(k) Management with Seamless Integration and Transparent Pricing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tatiana H. | Director of Human Resources, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Human Interest provides a user-friendly platform that is easy for both administrators and employees to navigate. Setting up plans, enrolling participants, and tracking contributions are all straightforward processes, and the dashboard is designed to keep information clear and well-organized. A major benefit is the automated administration—integrations with payroll systems such as Rippling, Gusto, and ADP greatly reduce manual tasks, as contributions, deductions, and compliance filings are synced automatically. The pricing structure is transparent, and the fees are lower than those of many traditional 401(k) providers, making it a cost-effective choice for small and mid-sized businesses. Employees have access to intuitive tools that let them manage their contributions, monitor investment performance, and access educational resources directly from the platform. Human Interest also stands out for its compliance support, taking care of responsibilities like 5500 filings and nondiscrimination testing, which would otherwise burden HR or Finance teams, thus saving time and reducing risk. Finally, the onboarding process is smooth and well-supported, with clear guidance throughout implementation to ensure everything is set up seamlessly.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

One aspect where Human Interest could enhance its service is in customer support and post-implementation communication. Although response times from support are occasionally prompt, there are instances of delays, especially after the onboarding process when clients move from having a dedicated representative to general support. The platform is intentionally designed for ease of use, which works well for simple plans, but it may seem limiting for organizations with more complex requirements, such as custom eligibility rules, unique vesting schedules, or the need to manage multiple entities. Following implementation, the ongoing communication and relationship management can feel insufficient, leaving some users wishing for more consistent support as their company’s needs change.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest addresses a major challenge faced by small and mid-sized companies: making it straightforward and affordable to offer a 401(k) plan without the usual administrative hassle. By automating tasks such as payroll integration, contributions, and compliance filings, they have removed much of the manual, time-consuming work that often burdens HR and Finance teams. The platform streamlines plan setup, maintains regulatory compliance, and gives employees an easy way to manage their retirement savings. Personally, this has allowed me to dedicate more time to strategic People Operations projects instead of dealing with paperwork or coordinating between different vendors. It has also boosted employee engagement, as staff can conveniently view and manage their investments through a user-friendly dashboard, making retirement benefits feel accessible and worthwhile rather than overwhelming.

 ### 5. User-Friendly 401k Management Tool with Effective Notifications

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elexus H.

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like how Human Interest helps me contribute the amounts per employee and notifies me when people's information isn't correct. It also lets me know each time as an employee when my money is going into my personal account, and I love that. I like how easy it is to navigate and use; it's really simple and straightforward. I also love being able to send notices via email all in one spot. Additionally, the setup was easy.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

If someone wants to opt out of it, it should be easier than me having to have them sign a form and contacting support. Not everyone is tech savvy, and I like to make processes easy for everyone.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest helps me manage 401k contributions per employee, alerts me to information errors, and notifies me about my funds, making the whole process seamless.

 ### 6. Streamlined 401(k) Administration with Reliable Payroll Sync and Easy Onboarding

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Natalie P. | Director of Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Human Interest makes 401(k) admin simple. The payroll sync works reliably, the employee portal is easy to use, and compliance tasks like notices and filings are largely automated. Plan setup was straightforward and the onboarding materials helped employees enroll quickly. Pricing is clear and the fiduciary support reduces risk for a small to mid sized firm.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Support quality can be uneven during busy periods, and response times vary, the AI assistant sometimes makes mistakes which makes it less reliable. Sync with BambooHR is great but can backfire - it assumes that everyone who is in the system is eligible for 401K which is not always the case and requires manual unenrollment

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest removes most of the 401(k) friction for a small professional firm. It automates payroll deductions and employer matches, handles compliance tasks like eligibility tracking, notices, testing, and provides a simple employee portal so staff can enroll and adjust contributions without HR help. The result is less manual data entry, fewer errors, predictable costs, and faster onboarding for new hires. Participation has improved once we started wotking with HR software that HI integrates with too. Overall I am very happy with HI

 ### 7. Seamless Payroll Integration, But Needs Better Issue Alerts

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rebbie H.

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like the seamless integration of wage and contribution and matching information from our payroll provider to Human Interest. It's able to match with our payroll system to fund our employee's retirement accounts with employee contributions and employer match. Setting up 403(b)s and 401(k)s isn't trivial, but Human Interest made it pretty clear and straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

We had two payrolls in a row where Human Interest didn't take or accept the information from our payroll provider. It just didn't fund our accounts, and we didn't know about it until we discovered it. They didn't alert us to the problem, and over a month later, they finally did fund our accounts, but I had to get intervention from our payroll provider, send several emails to our Dedicated Account Manager without response, reached out to general support, and have yet to receive any explanation or assurance that this won't happen again. The only reason I know they resolved their failed contributions is the auto-emails about accounts being funded. I can't tell if they've made up the missing investment time to our employee's accounts.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest matches with our payroll system to fund employee retirement accounts with employee contributions and employer match.

 ### 8. Affordable 401k Benefits with Seamless Payroll Integration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charles J.

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I appreciate that Human Interest is seamlessly integrated with our payroll app, simplifying the process significantly. Once employees enroll in the 401(k) plan and make their deductions, everything is handled automatically. This automation means I only need to verify the setup through the payroll provider and our financial institution, which saves time and effort. This integration makes it incredibly easy for employees to handle their 401(k) contributions without any hassle, as everything is interconnected with their payroll deductions. From an ownership perspective, I find comfort in knowing that we are providing an affordable and efficient benefits solution for our employees, ensuring their financial well-being is taken care of.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I find Human Interest a bit challenging when it comes to understanding the employee's perspective or seeing exactly what they see. Even though the system is set up with parameters we've established, there are questions from employees that I can't always answer effectively. This limitation means we often have to direct our employees back to Human Interest for discussions directly. This approach might be ideal, but it restricts the variability and control we have over the support we can provide them as their employer.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Human Interest to offer affordable 401(k) benefits to employees, making it seamless with payroll integration, ensuring easy management and employee care without financial strain.

 ### 9. Easy Billing, But Customer Support Needs Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darlene D.

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I appreciate the ease of billing with Human Interest. It's really simple and straightforward, which makes managing finances much smoother for my staff and me. Additionally, the software's integration with QuickBooks stands out as particularly valuable to me. This integration process is seamless, ensuring that our payroll and accounting systems are aligned without any hassle. The initial setup was very easy, which made starting with Human Interest a breeze and I didn’t encounter any difficulties during the onboarding process.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I am currently facing an issue with some dates on Human Interest, which I have been trying to change and update, but it fails to rectify itself. Additionally, I find it problematic that there is no easy access to customer support or troubleshooting assistance.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Human Interest to help my employees save for their future, and I find the billing process is easy and integrating with QuickBooks is seamless.

 ### 10. Great sales pitch, HORRIBLE support

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Herschel C. | Principal Consultant, President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

That it connects to QBO. Which is why we moved from our last provider Asc.... of course the initial QBO setup was flawed causing issues.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Most everything. The conversion process is STILL, months later, inaccurate. After MANY emails over MONTHS, I still can't get an answer -- most of the time my support requests go no where with no response. They use a "dedicated account manager" in their sales pitch. That meands dedicatedam@humaninterest email. Not a person. Most of the time I get no response whatsoever. Technical issues abound - they keep saying that one of my employees emails is wrong. Even though we have shown server trace logs that the email was never recieved; further we asked them to simply send that person and email from their account and they'd know it's working. Again, no response. I think they escalated some of the issues - again, no response. After going through this painful conversion, we'll likely just for another administrator as months later it's still incorrect. What good is a "dedicated account manager" when you can't get them to respond?

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Connecting directly to QBO so we don't have to manually enter.

 ### 11. Automates Contributions but Needs Better Support and Flexibility

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yisroel B. | Director of Payroll and Benefits, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I truly appreciate Human Interest's effective automation and seamless 360 integration with our payroll software. This feature greatly reduces the administrative workload, as staff do not have to frequently contact us to update their deduction details, and we are relieved from manually uploading contribution files. This automation is particularly helpful given our large staff size, as it eliminates the need for constant communication and file submission burdens we faced with other providers. The effective integration with our existing systems streamlines the entire process, allowing us to operate more efficiently and focus on other essential tasks.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

1- The software allows automation for only one plan, which is a limitation for large companies with unions that require multiple plans, thus necessitating manual handling for additional plans. 2- The absence of a mobile app restricts employees from tracking their funds in real-time, which is inconvenient. 3- The communication from the dedicated reps is often disorganized and unclear, with inconsistencies between different representatives' responses and delays in receiving solutions. 4- The billing communication is problematic because it lacks clarity on charges and their justifications.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Human Interest to automate 401k contributions, reducing manual updates and submissions with our payroll software and eliminating frequent communications about contribution updates.

**Official Response from Kathy Yoo-Naut:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share constructive feedback. We appreciate your input on what we can improve. We are always looking to enhance our customer experience.

 ### 12. Effortless 401(k) Setup, Needs Enhanced Support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Grace M.

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like Human Interest's easy-to-use interface. Its integration with Gusto, my preferred payroll provider that I recommend to clients, is a big plus. I've been using Human Interest for a number of years, over ten, I think. Generally, it's just been a great choice for 401(k) plans.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I think they could have a more robust support team. You usually have one individual who you are connected to as your account manager, but it can be difficult to get in touch with them sometimes.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest helps my clients set up simple 401(k) plans, ensuring compliance with state laws and offering retirement savings benefits to employees.

 ### 13. Straightforward Retirement Solution with Room for Personal Touch

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John L.

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I find using Human Interest quite straightforward, which has been beneficial for setting up our retirement account. The setup process was fairly easy and did not take long, making the transition smooth for us. Human Interest effectively solves the compliance requirement problem by providing a retirement account service, which was mandatory for us under California law. It's working well in meeting that specific need. Additionally, the pricing of Human Interest is a factor I appreciate and would consider when thinking about repurchasing. Overall, my experience has been satisfactory enough that I would likely recommend Human Interest with a favorable score.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I find the customer support process to be lacking, as it's difficult to speak to a person directly about questions. It's not set up in a way that makes communication easy and direct.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Human Interest to comply with California laws by providing a retirement account service, and it's effectively fulfilling that requirement for us.

 ### 14. Integration and Support Issues Persist

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrea S. | VP of Finance, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

The sales team was very imformative. Integrates with Paycor, or so we thought.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Our experience with Human Interest has been deeply frustrating and disappointing. Despite being eleven months into our integration with Paycor, we continue to face unresolved issues that significantly impact our operations.

Integration Failures: Termination dates do not sync properly, employee zip codes and emails are consistently flagged as incorrect (despite being accurate), and the system frequently generates errors.

Funind Errors: We've experienced multiple incorrect automatic withdrawals, including a double deductions exceeding $4,000 at one of our locations. Employees have been credited with funds in their accounts that were not pulled from their paychecks, while other employees had funds pulled from their paychecks, but their Human Interest accounts have not been funded. We have provided detailed reports to Human Interest, with no corrective action taken on their part over the last nine months.

Customer Support: Communication with our “dedicated account manager” is extremely slow, often taking weeks to receive a response — and when we do, the guidance is rarely helpful. No steps taken to fix mistakes generated by Human Interest.

Promotional Credit Issues: The $12,000 promotional credit outlined in our initial contract was not applied as promised. We had to proactively submit documentation to receive it, and even then, it was only applied to future invoices rather than refunded — after we had already been billed over $6,000.

Overall, the lack of responsiveness, persistent technical issues, and billing discrepancies have made this partnership more burdensome than beneficial.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None

**Official Response from Kathy Yoo-Naut:**

> I'm sorry that your issues have not been resolved promptly, Andrea. We know your experience is important, so we've escalated your case to ensure these problems are addressed as soon as possible. Our goal is to provide effective help, and a member of our Customer Advocacy team will be following up with you to make sure we get this right. Thank you for your feedback.

 ### 15. Effortless 401K Management with Room for Support Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew M. | Assistant Controller, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like that Human Interest is simple and integrates well with Rippling. The automation features are really helpful, like how new employees are automatically enrolled and payroll information flows seamlessly to Human Interest. The initial setup was pretty straightforward, and I didn't have much trouble with it.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Their customer service sometimes takes time to respond, and there seems to be poor communication between the customer service and compliance teams.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest automates employee payroll deductions for 401k contributions, simplifying management. It automatically enrolls new employees and ensures seamless data flow from payroll to Human Interest, integrating well with Rippling.

 ### 16. Helpful Interface and Notifications, but Frustrating Contribution Issues

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I really like the straightforward interface, which makes everything easy to view. The notifications are especially helpful, serving as timely reminders that keep us updated on all 401k-related matters within the company.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

One of the most frustrating things that happened when we initially started using Human Interest was that 401k contributions for our employees were not getting withdrawn correctly. We would have some months where Matrix Trust wouldn't withdraw any funds and then it would build up and we would have much larger debits in subsequent months to catch up. This makes managing cash flow much more difficult when we cannot anticipate outflows. Additionally, on several occasions, employees had to file customer support tickets because contributions from some payroll cycles were skipped over or missed, which was frustrating.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest has made it much easier for us to provide a retirement plan for our employees. With this platform, we can avoid the typical complexities and burdens that often come with setting up a standard retirement program, which can be especially challenging for a business of our size. Another significant benefit is that our employees find it straightforward to use, which is crucial. This ease of use means we can focus our time and energy on other priorities, rather than having to guide employees step by step through the process of setting up their retirement contributions.

**Official Response from Kathy Yoo-Naut:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share constructive feedback. We're glad to hear you're enjoying the product and we appreciate your input on what we can improve. We are always looking to enhance our customer experience.

 ### 17. User-Friendly 401k Management with Slow Support Response

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shaza R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like the UI of Human Interest and the ability to change percentages whenever I want. The overall ease of use is also a big plus for me.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

The representatives are very slow in response. The initial setup was long and not as good as it could be. There are no weekly updates, incorrect timelines, and overpromising.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Human Interest for retirement, and I like that it's easy to use with a UI that allows me to change percentages whenever I want.

**Official Response from Kathy Yoo-Naut:**

> I'm sorry that your issues have not been resolved promptly, Shaza. We know your experience is important, so we've escalated your case to ensure these problems are addressed as soon as possible. Our goal is to provide effective help, and a member of our Customer Advocacy team will be following up with you to make sure we get this right. Thank you for your feedback.

 ### 18. User-Friendly Platform with Effortless Implementation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shaya H. | Director of Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

The platform is very user-friendly and straightforward to implement. They managed all the backend work, which made the process even smoother for me.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I had trouble reaching my account manager, and the program was not configured properly. Unfortunately, this problem remained undetected for several months. Also, the auto enroll is very annoying

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were required to provide a 401k plan for our employees, and Human Interest was suggested by our payroll provider. They made the process of setting up the account straightforward and easy.

 ### 19. Efficient 401(k) Management, But Customer Service Needs A Lot Of Improvement

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kerra M.

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like that Human Interest integrates with our payroll provider. We don't have to manually make any changes when an employee elects to change their plan, which is really convenient for us.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Customer service could be very much improved and does not work well for me. It also does not work well for multilocation with multiple EIN numbers.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest manages our 401(k) program effectively and integrates with our payroll provider, eliminating the need for manual changes when employees adjust their plans.

**Official Response from Kathy Yoo-Naut:**

> I'm sorry that your issues have not been resolved promptly, Kerra. We know your experience is important, so we've escalated your case to ensure these problems are addressed as soon as possible. Our goal is to provide effective help, and a member of our Customer Advocacy team will be following up with you to make sure we get this right. Thank you for your feedback.

 ### 20. Integration Excellence, Service Needs Improvement

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Danielle H.

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like that Human Interest integrates directly with our payroll provider, which is a key selling point for us. I also appreciate the backend reporting that Human Interest handles now, which we used to do independently. It really helps with managing our 403b Retirement Account.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

The customer service team is not as well trained as you would hope. I have received wrong information several times and that is challenging to work through.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest handles fiduciary responsibility and required reporting for our 403b Retirement Account, reducing our workload. It integrates with our payroll provider, streamlining processes.

**Official Response from Kathy Yoo-Naut:**

> I'm sorry that your issues have not been resolved promptly, Danielle. We know your experience is important, so we've escalated your case to ensure these problems are addressed as soon as possible. ### 21. Smooth, Easy Payroll Integration with Human Interest

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

The direct payroll integration streamlined the entire process, making our experience with Human Interest smooth and easy to manage.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Although the plan is generally low-maintenance, it can be difficult to secure a same-day appointment with an account manager when timely support is needed.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest solved the challenge of offering a compliant, low-cost retirement plan by simplifying setup and administration, allowing our small company to focus on running the business rather than managing the plan.

 ### 22. A great team and interface but sometimes slow to get answers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Recreational Facilities and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

The sales and implementation teams were amazing. They explained everything we needed to know as an organization implementing a 401k for the first time. They were incredibly patient and flexible while trying to coordinate with our new payroll processor. Once they connected with our payroll system, integration was seamless. In addition, the user interface is outstanding—portals are easy to use and understand.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Customer support is sometimes slow to respond. We always receive an email immediately acknowledging the request, but resolution can take days. Also, the issue is not always resolved on the first try. We have had a few dedicated customer support managers in a short time, which might account for the delays. However, customer support is easy to reach, and everyone we have worked with has been kind, professional, and eager to help.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had previously met with a few 403b providers and it seemed cost-prohibitive to implement. Human Interest took the time to break everything down and in the end we are able to provide an amazing benefit to our employees not usually offered by a nonprofit.

 ### 23. Poor Support and Guidance

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** CORAL M.

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I liked the idea of being able to set up a retirement plan for myself.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I'm having trouble canceling my 401k plan for my employees and didn't get any guidance during setup. It autoenrolled my employees, which wasn't ideal. Customer service is also problematic since I need immediate help but had to schedule an appointment a few weeks out for urgent assistance. The setup was super easy, but it lacked guidance.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

n/a

**Official Response from Kathy Yoo-Naut:**

> I'm sorry that your issues have not been resolved promptly, Coral. We know your experience is important, so we've escalated your case to ensure these problems are addressed as soon as possible. Our goal is to provide effective help, and a member of our Customer Advocacy team will be following up with you to make sure we get this right. Thank you for your feedback.

 ### 24. Trustworthy Compliance, but Clunky Customer Service

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Giacomo M. | Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I like that I can trust their compliance team.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

It's clunky, and the customer service is a little difficult to access. It's just a clunky system when it comes to customer service and also for processing things.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Human Interest to sort out compliance for my 401(k) plan and ensure everything is above board, including paying my employees.

 ### 25. Easy-to-Use Platform with Seamless Contribution Uploads

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Their platform is easy to use as admin and also for our employees. Uploading contributions is usually seamless.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Sometimes communication with our rep regarding complicated issues or errors is less than excellent. We have to rely on our own research and then communicate that back

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Overall, human interest makes it easy to enroll employees and give them control over their retirement accounts.

 ### 26. Great Price for Small Business, but Hard to Reach a Responsive Human

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

The price was great for a small business.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

It seems very difficult to speak with a person. When trying to ask a question, you get AI chatbox and they don't always provide accurate information. You have to schedule a meeting if you want to speak with a human....not very responsive.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows a small business like ours to offer a 401k option to our staff.

**Official Response from Kathy Yoo-Naut:**

> I'm very sorry that you haven't received a response to your inquiries. This is not the level of service we aim to provide. We would love to speak about your situation in more detail but we are unable to identify you. For security purposes, please follow these steps: after logging in, click Support at the top of your dashboard and request for your case to be escalated in the chat.

 ### 27. Ver little support from the account manager - as a startup we need a lot of support and guidance

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Not sure yet. I have been using it for a few weeks only.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Very difficult to talk to our account manager - not responsive, calendar doesn't show any availability for the next 2 weeks or so. Responses to emails are inconsistent and come in from different people. They are never timely - a response comes back in 2-3-4 days.
Human Interest informed us they are not TPA and only provide record -keeping services. We are looking for extra help else where - this company is not willing or able to assist.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest is our 401k record keeper. They don't solve any problems for us, only ignore them or pretend these problems are not serious.

 ### 28. Streamlined 401K Management with a User-Friendly Interface

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mayra O.

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I appreciate the easy access for employees that Human Interest provides. It's great that employees have immediate access to update their personal profiles. I also find the website to be quite friendly, which enhances the user experience. The initial setup was smooth thanks to the helpful sales and implementation persons.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I have not been able to talk to my account manager.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest offers easy access for employees and lets them update personal profiles immediately.

**Official Response from Kathy Yoo-Naut:**

A member of our Customer Advocacy team will contact you directly to discuss your experience, as we're always looking to improve the customer experience. Thank you for your patience, and we are committed to improving our communication.

 ### 29. User-friendly but with unexpected cost increases

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin S. | Partner & Co-founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

It was very easy to set up the account initially and we have had absolutely no issues ever since! It's interface is very user-friendly, the investments are clear, and it's relatively turn-key once set up.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Getting a customer service agent on the line can be challenging, and they all seem to use the same email address which is frustrating. Worst of all, though, is the no-fee account we signed up for suddenly jumped to over $100 per month out of nowhere.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I mean, it's just very easy to invest in your future when you have someone like Human Interest taking care of the heavy lifting.

 ### 30. Automated 401k Integration with Room for Support Improvement

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sol S. | Director of Operations, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 07, 2026

I like that Human Interest automates with our payroll integration, which reduces the need for HR man-hours. I also appreciate that they handle everything, making the overall process much easier. The initial setup was fairly easy too.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I dislike the customer service. Phone communications could be improved.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Human Interest for 401k, and it automates the process with our payroll integration, reducing the HR man-hours needed as they handle everything.

**Official Response from Kathy Yoo-Naut:**

Our goal is to provide effective help, and a member of our Customer Advocacy team will be following up with you to make sure we get this right. Thank you for your feedback.

 ### 31. Relatively Easy-to-Use Website, Solid Overall Experience

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Gambling & Casinos | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Website is user friendly and easy to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

The transition didn't go as well as I would have expected. Having gone from ADP to HI, I would have expected them to be able to handle the transition better. Response can sometimes take a day or two to emails.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easing 401k compliance. Also, makes submitting EE withholdings easier.

**Official Response from Kathy Yoo-Naut:**

> I'm sorry that your issues have not been resolved promptly. We would love to speak about your situation in more detail but we are unable to identify you. For security purposes, please follow these steps: after logging in, click Support at the top of your dashboard and request for your case to be escalated in the chat.

 ### 32. Implementation was seamless but pray you don't encounter any issues that require actual assistance

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex M. | General Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

The implementation of the retirement plan was very easy. The information provided, investment portfolios and user interface are all extremely intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

The lack of actual support when needed is maddening. Good luck getting ahold of someone when you're running into issues. The payroll integration is wonky and has erroneously double charged me in the past. Requesting a refund was like pulling teeth, even when the mistake was entirely on Human Interest's end.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rolling out a State-mandated retirement plan.

**Official Response from Kathy Yoo-Naut:**

> I'm sorry that your issues have not been resolved promptly. We know your experience is important, so we've escalated your case to ensure these problems are addressed as soon as possible. We would love to speak about your situation in more detail but we are unable to identify you. For security purposes, please follow these steps: after logging in, click Support at the top of your dashboard and request for your case to be escalated in the chat.

 ### 33. Convenient Integration, But Slow Support

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alyssa H.

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I appreciate how Human Interest integrates with payroll systems, making managing my 401(k) essentials more straightforward. I also value how easily it works with other programs, which streamlines operations and potentially saves my organization time and resources in connecting different software solutions.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I find gaining access to the account problematic due to email issues, which made the initial setup challenging. Additionally, I've been disappointed with the support provided by Human Interest, as it has been very slow whenever we sought assistance.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find the integration with payroll systems useful for automating 401k uploads, providing efficiency despite our current payroll system's limitations.

 ### 34. Seamless Platform, But Lacks Payroll Integration and Proper Customer Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hassan I. | Operations Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Seamless platform. Easy implementation. Easy instructions on how to use and submit contributions.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

No integration with our payroll provider. Everything is done manually
Customer Support is not great and take time to respond or resolve issues.
No clear contact from Customer Service Rep. Our rep was changed multiple times without us being informed and the new rep never set up a time to introduce themselves.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is taking away all the manual work when it comes to 401k contributions. We only have to submit our semi-monthly contributions report and they do all the work for us.

 ### 35. Human Interest makes it easy.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hoof H. | Member, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Human Interest works with my payroll company.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I have only had a two interactions with Human Interest. The first one involving a loan was very unsatisfactory. The customer service rep was lacking the knowledge to complete the task and found a work around instead of doing it correctly creating a mountain of headaches! 2nd interaction was great!

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

employee 401

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tara S. | Office Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Customer Service is quick to reply to inquiries and it's easy to schedule meetings with them. Their pricing is affordable.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

We have had many billing errors that I continually need to address and stay on top of. The Customer Service reps seems to change frequently.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Affordable and easy to use 401K system for our employees

 ### 38. Decent product - customer support needs a massive overhaul

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gerald S. | VP of Human Resources, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

The UI and product itself are easy to use and understand for non-financial and non-technical people.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Support was absolutely horrible. Human Interest made an honest mistake at one point and we needed to work together to resolve the issue. What should have been a simple fix took weeks, and the communication was non-existent. When I reached out to the sales side just to see if they could escalate, I was informed that the company was a mess and that these types of issue weren't uncommon. Sounds like a chaotic culture internally.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a 401K platform, and Human Interest provided what we needed in a compliant, employee friendly package.

**Official Response from Anthony Gomes:**

> I'm sorry that your issues have not been resolved promptly, Gerald. We know your experience is important, so we've escalated your case to ensure these problems are addressed as soon as possible. Our goal is to provide effective help, and a member of our Customer Advocacy team will be following up with you to make sure we get this right. Thank you for your feedback.

**Reviewed by:** Marcus S. | District Manager and Owner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

Human Interest was very easy to impliment. The customer service is decent, as in you must schedule an appointment rather than just calling a number. After accepting that aspect, it is not too bad. When you do get your dedicated person they are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Very easy to use for both employee and employer.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Needing to schedule an appointment for customer service. Employee's have cancelled their contributions but not seen it reflected for 4-6 weeks.

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

I've used Human Interest at two different companies over the last five years, and it's consistently been a great experience. The platform is easy to use, intuitive for both admins and employees, and makes managing retirement benefits seamless. Their customer support has also been responsive and helpful whenever needed. Highly recommend for any company looking for a straightforward and reliable 401(k) solution.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Customer service is little slow and account manager keeps changing with out notice

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Human Interest is solving the complexity and administrative burden of offering a 401(k) plan, especially for small to mid-sized companies. They handle compliance, filings, and plan management, which saves us significant time and reduces the risk of errors. The platform is intuitive and automates many of the manual tasks that typically come with retirement plans. For employees, it’s easy to enroll, manage contributions, and access account information—leading to higher participation and satisfaction. It’s a win for both HR/Finance teams and our staff.

 ### 43. 401k Services

It’s straightforward, with everything I need in one place. The intuitive design makes managing my plan simple, and I feel confident knowing compliance is taken care of. Overall, it’s a reliable and hassle-free service for retirement planning for my company.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

The only downside is that it should be easier/faster to get in touch with a dedicated account manager when needed.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The 401(k) is fully integrated with payroll, making the process stress-free and eliminating any worries about manual contributions or errors.

 ### 44. User-Friendly Platform but Disappointing Customer Service Experience

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

The platform it self is clean and easy to use and navigate. It gets the job done for a smaller startup like ourselves.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Thus far our customer services hasn't been the greatest. Sometimes getting no responses, and during our renewal period getting the next years' rate incorrect. I had to go back and forth to let our account manager know that we negotiated for a special rate the second year. Instead of verifying with sales, and the contracts/screenshots I sent them they kept insisting I was incorrect, when in fact i was correct.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Compliance, in CA I need retirement services platform

 ### 45. Easy transition and helpful customization

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michelle K. | Head of Finance, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

The team was very helpful in adding custom investment options for Vanguard Target Data funds, which are the same expense ratio as they are with Vanguard itself. So you can get the best of Vanguard (or most of the "best of" mutual funds on the market) while also benefitting from Human Interest's excellent UX and integrations with payroll software like Rippling. The ease of the transition from our prior provider was seamless, and they also have cost effective management options for 401k compliance that let us cut out costs for a financial advisor and separate plan administrator.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

I heard that leaving Human Interest, if you decide to do that, can be quite cumbersome, and that customer service is not especially great -- I haven't experienced either one of those issues however.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Offering a 401k plan with high quality investment options and employer matching

 ### 46. Easy to Use, but Customer Service Needs Improvement

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Human Interest?**

How easy it is to use, when transferring funds, explanations were clear but the customer service was not helpful.

**What do you dislike about Human Interest?**

Customer service could be better when trying to transfer funds, it took me three trys to be able to get it done.

**What problems is Human Interest solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a customer it is helping me with my investments and as an admin it makes things easier for my employees.
