## About Hull
Hull allows sales, marketing and customer success teams to make sense of the whole customer journey and use all customer data that’s otherwise locked up and siloed away in dozens of separate tools and databases. It puts everyone customer-facing in your organization on the same page by creating one common set of customer data across the whole customer journey.

## Hull Reviews
  ### 1. très puissant outil

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maxime L. | Head of digital, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Hull?**

It is a truly powerful program that has allowed us to harmonize our databases and make them communicate.

**What do you dislike about Hull?**

Not user-friendly enough, without a minimum of technical background, not easy to use

**What problems is Hull solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had databases with common data that did not communicate with each other, and Hull allowed us to harmonize them.

  ### 2. Flexibility of connectors is amazing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Hull?**

The catalog of available integrations in the platform is quite interesting and useful for all the differents teams and platforms involved in our activity

**What do you dislike about Hull?**

We try the tracking and we didn't have always great results and sometimes has been hard at work.

**Recommendations to others considering Hull:**

Querying and segment creation are also very powerful and customisable

**What problems is Hull solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reducing switching costs

  ### 3. Flexible platform, strong at it's core

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Arts and Crafts | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2019

**What do you like best about Hull?**

It's an extremely elegant platform with a great UX and well thought UI. The flexibility of connectors is amazing. The sky is the limit, when it comes to integrating systems. And this is the main thing why we favoured Hull over other tools: It had no use case or process idea implemented, aside from being a platform to sync and unify data across sources. With every other service we would have been forced into one direction, while we try to get away from filling in the blanks of systems that come with defined processes.
Everything has logs: Users, Accounts and Events. And they offer a really powerful logging system that does a good job as safety net.

**What do you dislike about Hull?**

The persistence and display of historic events is limited. Does not matter too much, as it is better stored as raw data and presented in systems where it's actionable to your users. And in the end, Hull is not an end user system. But you should plan for this fact and prepare your data model accordingly.
Documentation (and examples) on attributes for users and accounts could be improved to allow for easier on boarding and data modelling. But Hull staff makes sure you are not left alone and tries to lend a helping hand where and whenever possible.
You should calculate costs for staging databases or custom applications to stage and prepare your data. Just stuffing your raw data from live databases will not end well, degrading application performance during load as well as putting too much weight on Hull during transformation.
There's not really much to not like about Hull. It just takes some time to align your ideas with the bits and pieces of the concept that powers Hull und the hood. Then you will see that there is not really anything that's not possible.

**Recommendations to others considering Hull:**

You better not attempt to implement and maintain a CDP/MDM on your own. It's not worth your time and even expensive platforms are a better investment as a good tech stack is complicated to build and impossible to maintain due to a lot of dedicated technologies. Also do not believe that CDP is CDP. There are a lot of services marketing this as a buzzword, while they are just a shiny email or social media marketing platform.

It takes a dedicated resource to commit time into maintaining your data including the integrations into and out of Hull. If you don't have a technical background or technical team, the initial configuration can be challenging – as it's the case with any platform implementation.
Invest the upfront time to design and architect your data models and data flows between systems. Do not save anything "for later". This will bite you. Know every single bit of data in all of your systems and what use cases it has. Attempting to connect every platform and do everything in one take, has the potential to lead to disastrous results. Start small and try to do nothing more than to unify your user and account profile for your main data sources.d
Plan for data correction up front and bring systems in place to allow you to make mistakes and fix them. Do not attempt to do this in Hull.

**What problems is Hull solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Clean and unify data across systems. That Hull does this well, is not an empty promise. Sync data to other sources, so we all talk about the same attributes with the same names at similar times. Deduplication is way better than with anything we had in place before. Forcing your team to work in a single system without "making an exception. again." makes you end up with integrations that your team can understand and maintain.

  ### 4. Awesome for marketing automation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Quentin D. | Head of Growth, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Hull?**

I liked the fact that the app is super customisable thanks to the use of code. Also, the included database can store a really huge number of objects and properties. Querying and segment creation are also very powerful and customisable. The main benefit of this tool, for me, is the fact that you can write custom code to create your own custom connectors to your tools and APIs. This connectors respond pretty fast and retry failed calls by default. Backend and automation-wise, Hull is already state of the art.

**What do you dislike about Hull?**

The interface is still raw, laggy and/or bugged. The thing is, Hull is still a WIP and they're still trying to figure out how to display so many data. Also, the integrated JS editor is still WIP too, as is the documentation that's sometimes lacking information or displaying outdated information. I find also that API calls capping and connectors capping are very low compared to other tools like Segment.

**Recommendations to others considering Hull:**

Hard to get a grasp, but very powerful.

**What problems is Hull solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can unify our data among all of our tools, from prospection to people using our SaaS. It's really fast and prevents you from taking to much time building your own DB. In our current world, startups like us use so many tools (SaaS and APIs) that it can be very hard to keep up with which tool communicates with the other one. Also, it's very painful tu unify data among tools. The thing that Hull does very nicely.

  ### 5. Great on-boarding and support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Hull?**

The endless possibilities and custom-fitting abilities. There is rarely a one size fits all approach to your tracking needs. With the customizations available we have the opportunity to get a solution that suits our business model and how our marketing and sales work today.

**What do you dislike about Hull?**

It can be a bit daunting at first to code and set up. Especially if you don't have a clear vision of how you want your data to flow and sync. If you are a technical person this is great but if you are not, the dedicated on-boarding is great and very responsive.

**What problems is Hull solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed multi-channel tracking in Salesforce and access it all through PowerBI through Salesforce. So far we have set up the model and the data is flowing in as expected. However, after working with it for a while I can see so many more use cases for Hull going forward.

  ### 6. Great tool to empower your marketing ops, sales ops, analytics teams

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jaime G. | Director of Acquisition & Retention Marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Hull?**

Seamless setup of connectors. Segment integration is great.

**What do you dislike about Hull?**

UX as it exists today isn’t super intuitive.

**Recommendations to others considering Hull:**

Spec out your specific use case(s) and leverage the initial support in getting things set up. The team is very helpful and thorough.

**What problems is Hull solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reducing eng work and data requests by aggregating data from multiple connectors to build new audiences and ultimately package into custom track events.

  ### 7. A very powerful hub for marketing automation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Hull?**

Hull is a very convenient way for us to centralize and aggregate customer data. It is plugged to our CRM as well as our ads platforms. The support team is available everytime you need it.

**What do you dislike about Hull?**

It requires a tech expert to take advantage of the full capacity of the platform, so for now we are using it on a basic way.

**What problems is Hull solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hull is our single hub for customer data. It helps us focus on marketing topics instead of data inconsistency.

  ### 8. we depend on it!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Hull?**

- nice and clean UX / interface
- easily integrates our different tools and databases
- great support team - super reactive and helpful

**What do you dislike about Hull?**

- the setting up can be a bit difficult without a data/tech savvy person dedicated to the task

**What problems is Hull solving and how is that benefiting you?**

connecting all databases from and information of leads to prospects to customers

  ### 9. Fills an Important Need

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** J.P. V. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2017

**What do you like best about Hull?**

Dynamic integration between numerous systems that otherwise don't communicate - CRM, database, data augmentation, paid social

**What do you dislike about Hull?**

The onboarding process can be a bit daunting - between connecting all systems, setting up billing, waiting to populate the first time, if you don't have a dedicated point person it can seem like a lot. Also, the pricing can be steep depending on your use case.

**What problems is Hull solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We connected HubSpot personas and lists to Facebook for dynamic retargeting, better exclusions lists, and automated nurturing funnels with Hull
