"A Great Way to Manage Client Documents"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Hubdoc?

I enjoy the easy interface of HubDoc. With dedicated email, phone app, and web app, it is easy for clients, their customers, and vendors to upload their sensitive documents in one place. It saves tons of time over clients emailing documents. Plus, it OCRs the documents and fills in pertinent information. Once the papers are OCRd, you can push it to your accounting software, DropBox or Google Drive. And, upon occasion, "HubDog" can fetch major bank statements, utility bills, and other popular SAAS bills.

I look forward to using this app every day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hubdoc?

Sometimes, the fetch fails. However, mostly it is the fault of the banks changing security protocols. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hubdoc?

The software feels buggy sometimes. But I hope this can be sorted out with a software update. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best Receipt manager for Accountants"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Hubdoc?

As I mentioned in the title, hubdoc is the best receipt/invoice management cloud-based software in the accounting industry. It will save you time from entering each bill into your accounting system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hubdoc?

One thing that i don't like in hubdoc is that sometimes it's hard to upload the receipts, and need to try a couple of times to get the recipts uploaded. Also, sometimes it creates separate folders for the same vendor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Was to be the best document fetch system of all time...then the Banks ruined it..."
4/5
What do you like best about Hubdoc?

Bank check images, deposit images, and statement fetching, incoming items are auto filed in alphabetical folders, auto bill posting to accounting software, remembers how the previous coding was done, multiple users, OCR on all documents so you can search for a number that is on a random PDF anywhere in HubDoc to help make forensic research possible, emails are turned into PDF's to be used as receipts, tagging, notes on transactions.

The best feature of all WAS that your clients, or you, can add your bank and utility logins to HubDoc and IT USED TO auto fetch/import all check images, deposit images, bank statements, and CSV files directly from the connected account without ever having to go login to each individual site to manually download these items. This was my absolute favorite feature, but then the banks ruined this amazing convenience with all the two-factor authentication and constant changing codes. Now our clients are frustrated and so are we. Our clients are bugged with constant emails needing security code that they enter but then the connection still never works. Chase does not work anymore and Capital One stopped working a couple of years back as well. We love HubDoc and we know this is not their fault. Jamie is a great mastermind and good for him selling HubDoc to Xero, but It's too bad the banks have done this, they are really making everyone move back into the dark ages. It's sad. There are still many reasons to love HubDoc as described above, bank fetch used to be the top reason. Still if you you are only using Sharefile or other clocud document collection systems you shoudl really consider HubDoc as they have an integration with many accoutnign software systems that allow you to do the bookkeeping right from within their app and really cut down on a lot of redundant tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hubdoc?

HubDoc can't sync AR-related transactions to QBO. So when you get a customer check you have to manually download it and upload it to QBO if you want it attached to it's transaction as reference data. The bank fetch features are all failing now due to the banks (not HubDoc's fault but sadly this was our favorite feature before). We were warned the bank fetch would fail soon so it's not a huge surprise. If you used QBO it costs a lot of money but if you used Xero as a pro you can get this system for free so definitely look into that Xero bookkeepers. We've loved using this software and will continue to right up until it's just too painful anymore, then we'll switch to Dext (used to be Receipt Bank) which Intuit has purchased. I just wish HubDoc could work the way it did 4 years ago because it was PERFECT then before the banks messed everything up. Now we are all forced to make our clients give us all their sensitive banking logins which most are fearful of doing because they don't understand why bookkeepers need this info to do our jobs. It's so hard to explain this basic knowledge to business owners and it's something we did not have to do with everyone before. HubDoc used to allow us to sidestep this fear for a long time. Now it's back and, oh well. Back to 1990's bookkeeping, it is. Guess I'll be waiting for my clients to snail mail me their statements next. Such a shame. What I dislike is what the banks have done to ruin this incredible software that still has so much power. It's still amazing for many of it's features but sadly it's tough to recommend it anymore if you're not using Xero. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great for controls, easy, but prone to human errors"
4/5
What do you like best about Hubdoc?

It has a memory of its own and any invoices forwarded it will read it quite accurately based on what was sent to it last.

Multiple users can send to the same inbox, and then the book-keeper can collate them instead of invoices being lost in people's emails. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hubdoc?

Invoices need to be in PDF or it wont be read

No ability to save as a draft for the time being without publishing

No ability to restrict users from deleting invoices sent to Hubdoc

No ability to restrict users from publishing an invoice. For example I need my book-keeper to be able to submit invoices as "Awaiting authorisation", but she routinely clicks on the incorrect "Approved" option and I can't stop this Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"HubDoc allows our clients to be in control of their finances!"
5/5
What do you like best about Hubdoc?

HubDoc's client dashboard allows us to easily communicate to clients in order to receive financial data without delay. Hubdoc makes it simple to reconcile accounts within Quickbooks online. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hubdoc?

Sometimes our clients need an extra "Nudge" to get the financial data that we need to do our job successfully. This is easily overcome with a quick email message sent directly to the client, which is a feature that is built in to the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Bad support and customer service, functionality not as advertised"
1/5
What do you like best about Hubdoc?

Synchronization to QBO and multiple other solutions Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hubdoc?

Payment account methods did not allow selecting anything but cash, credit card, check, etc. I reached out to customer support asking why I couldn't pick a loan liability account on my CoA to book the expense to (other expense management platforms allow this and I could have sworn I was previously able to do this in Hubdoc). They said this functionality wasn't there. It took 4 weeks to get this answer. I had signed up 3 of my businesses on this software in the days/weeks before running into this issue. When they gave me this answer a month later, I had paid for subscription for three different entities probably twice? I asked for refunds and they said they could refund the entity which I filed the support issue through, but not the others, so about $48 unrefundable.

That's fine with me. I'll leave a review and move on. It's small dollars. Bottom line is support took 4 weeks and customer service was poor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Love it, saves me so much time"
5/5
What do you like best about Hubdoc?

I get a custom email address that I can just forward client invoices to, for import into QB or Xero. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hubdoc?

I have multiple vendors for the same payee in QBO for each separate acct # (e.g., three utility accounts). Would love a feature to have HubDoc either match those better of find those three and give me radio buttons to select which vendor to match it to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
