I love to talk about Hoxhunt. because for us it was very important that we have a phishing simulation tool (that works), without blaming the employees, that we have a funny thing, and more friendly.

"In the cybersecurity department, we don’t normally get positive feedback from our end users. However, Hoxhunt is an exception to the rule. It’s much cheaper to prevent a cyber attack than to clean up the mess afterwards." — Antti Palokanga

"Thoughtfully Designed, Engaging, and Effective Email Security Training"
What do you like best about Hoxhunt?

The program is thoughtfully designed. Its user interface is easy to navigate and visually appealing. The training sections are effective without being repetitive. The simulated malicious emails are well crafted and relevant to real-world scenarios. This program encourages greater awareness when checking emails and helps develop the habit of double-checking for suspicious signs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hoxhunt?

In my view, the timing associated with malicious emails doesn't seem very logical. If an email simply goes unread or no action is taken on it for some time, I don't think it should be classified as missed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Engaging Gamification Makes Learning Data Protection Fun"
What do you like best about Hoxhunt?

I personally am specialised in data protection and fraud tactics, I know how difficult it is to teach people about the subject in a way that keeps them engaged. The gamification of the process is executed in a great way, it makes people eager to participate and track their personal and team results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hoxhunt?

I did identify already a problem that has also built a frustration in a couple of people, namely the late responses.

Now the biggest problem here is that people do like to see their numbers go up, but if you have been sick or on holidays and missed the email, then suddenly you will no longer be able to be on the top of the score board, and you feel like you drag your team down as well cause the total % falls down too.

I would consider a better solution for this like maybe a short question afterwards why was the response delayed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Engaging and Effective, Yet Needs Email Context Sensitivity"
What do you like best about Hoxhunt?

I love that Hoxhunt is very realistic and that it has trained me to be more cautious about emails that I receive. I also like the game feature it has, like the leaderboard where you can compete against coworkers, other schools, and companies. It's pretty motivating! The initial setup was super easy; I think I just clicked a link or something. I would definitely give it a 10 out of 10. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hoxhunt?

My coworker mentioned an issue where receiving a fake email from our principal on a weekend seemed really casual and a bit inappropriate. It made her think poorly of him initially, wondering why he contacted her over the weekend or why he spoke so informally given their relationship. She thought that was definitely crossing a line, and that the "phishing" shouldn't shouldn't cause one to have negative feelings about one's coworkers or bosses, even if it's fake. "Realistic and Effective Training against Phishing"
What do you like best about Hoxhunt?

I like that Hoxhunt is very easy to use, very dynamic, and acts as real-life training. The fact that it provides feedback is very useful because it not only tells you if you did well or poorly in reporting something, but it also explains what was good and bad, gives you similar examples, and helps to enrich your knowledge. What do you dislike about Hoxhunt?

In my opinion, there are only emails that it marks as having arrived and I ignored them, but in reality, they never reached my inbox. It was just one of the test emails that says I never saw it or reported it, but when I checked my inbox, it wasn't there. I usually keep my emails up to date, and the one it marks never arrived. "Gamified Learning"
What do you like best about Hoxhunt?

I use Hoxhunt in the office to report cases of suspected scam/spam/fraud related to emails and for training in the same area. It helps me stay "aware" on cybersecurity topics. I find the "gamified" approach interesting. I like gamification because over time it becomes more and more engaging. I appreciate the immediate feedback, it makes the cause-effect link more understandable and contextual in relation to the reporting event. The installation was simple because it was deployed from the center. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hoxhunt?

After a while, Hoxhunt becomes repetitive. The pattern 'report -> click -> compliment message -> do you want to play a game?' is a very static pattern. There is a performance issue because each time it sends you to an external web page for interaction, and this consumes PC resources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Empowering Phishing Defense with Realistic Training"
What do you like best about Hoxhunt?

I really appreciate Hoxhunt for its realistic examples, which are instrumental in teaching me about potential security threats such as phishing scams. The scenarios presented are not just educational but also easy to understand, which significantly enhances my learning experience. These examples have been incredibly practical because I have encountered actual emails or phone calls that employed methods similar to those shared by Hoxhunt, and thanks to the comprehensive training emails, I was able to identify these as security risks. The initial setup of Hoxhunt was very easy too, as our company facilitated the installation on our internal intranet, making it seamlessly accessible for download and use. Overall, my experience with Hoxhunt has been extremely positive, warranting my willingness to recommend it with a perfect score of 10 out of 10. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hoxhunt?

I would like to see improvements in the attachment protection features of Hoxhunt. Specifically, I think there needs to be more transparency and insights into what attachments are being blocked and the reasons behind their blockage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Essential Tool for Email Security and Spam Control"
What do you like best about Hoxhunt?

I find Hoxhunt really useful because it's very easy to report spam emails or any kind of potentially dangerous communication, which makes things much safer for me and my organization. It helps us stay safe from unwanted emails, like spam or clickbait, and provides valuable lessons on how to recognize and respond to such emails. The tool has simplified the process so much that by just clicking a button, I can know if an email is trustworthy or not. Additionally, the fact that Hoxhunt blocks communication from potential phishing or spam channels makes it very valuable and provides a safety net over us. I believe the ease of setup is another advantage, and overall, it definitely protects my organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hoxhunt?

Sometimes there are emails which Hoxhunt can't detect as phishing or spam, so we have to manually mark them. It would be great if Hoxhunt could update its database with these kinds of emails or scenarios, so it can automatically detect them before the user does and block them. "Effortless, Engaging Training That Fits Seamlessly Into the Workday"
What do you like best about Hoxhunt?

Hoxhunt is extremely easy to use and does a great job of training users without feeling overwhelming. The simulated phishing emails are realistic and actually help build good habits. I like that it teaches you why something is suspicious instead of just telling you that you failed. The platform runs quietly in the background and only takes a few seconds to complete each task, so it fits naturally into the workday. The reporting button is simple, fast, and reliable, and the points system keeps the training engaging. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hoxhunt?

Some of the simulations tend to feel repetitive, and at times the emails are so obvious that they lose their usefulness. I also find myself wishing that the feedback provided after reporting was more detailed, as this would help users better understand the red flags. Aside from these points, the system functions smoothly and does not disrupt my workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Hoxhunt Makes Phishing Training Fun with Gamified High Scores"
What do you like best about Hoxhunt?

I think companies that gamify mundane activities are great. Who would've ever thought I'd get excited to spot and report a phishing email at work? Not me, but yet this is where I find myself, celebrating my high scores and being in the upper percentiles of the company when it comes to the efficiencies of spotting and reporting dodgy looking emails. Yay for Hoxhunt! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hoxhunt?

Nothing to dislike, except I cant seem to figure out how to view the Hoxhunt dashboard in my Outlook lately Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Gamified Email Reporting Improves Alertness While Dashboard Access & Holiday Timing Need Improvement"
What do you like best about Hoxhunt?

It makes recognizing spam/phishing threats and learning about the many ways criminals try to trick people feel like a game. Users have a real incentive, which gives them dopamine, which makes them look out for such threats more actively, and aids in recognizing them more effectively. Customer service is wonderful as well! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hoxhunt?

Accessing the dashboard is not clear and as far as I'm aware can be done when reporting an email. If I don't have an email to report, I'm not sure how to access the dashboard. Also, it doesn't take public holidays into account which means that if you go for holiday for a few days and don't manually put it on pause, it will send you an email during holiday and then mark it as missed if you don't report it by the time you come back. This affects the stats negatively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
