I like the flexibility to be able to do whatever I want with the service.

I've found the wiki and forums to be a bit lacking at times, but that makes sense since most of its tools are well supported elsewhere.

**What problems is HostPapa solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I maintain personal websites and use it to experiment occasionally.

The site was fairly static but seemed to always be available.

**What do you dislike about HostPapa?**

It took me a couple years to cancel the service.    I wasn't able to successfully stop the service until the credit card they had on file expired and Lunarpages cancelled me.

It provided an internet presence for our small company.

I like that the servers are quick, and the rare times that I have needed support, they have been all over it!

I don't really have a bad thing to say about Lunarpages!

I was looking to have a decently priced hosting company that would provide 99.9% uptime!

Customer Service Representatives are really knowledgeable and helpful

The lunarpages account page is a bit cluttered. Hard to navigate at times.

**What problems is HostPapa solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have used lunarpages for all types of services. But we recently created an entirely new website using the weebly service provided. After attempted numerous times to figure it out myself, I finally called lunarpages customer service and they easily walked me through step by step. Now that I have the knowledge, I can easily access everything I need!

It's not a terribly big deal but it's not a 24 hour service - sometimes issues arise after-hours.

I've been a long-time customer because of the price.  However, their customer & technical service has improved considerably (reduced hold times, motivated and efficient personnel over the past 9 months.

**What do you dislike about HostPapa?**

My dislikes appear to have been addressed.  They were:  long hold times for support and getting blacklisted because of some bad actors sharing the IP address of the shared hosting email servers.  (not blacklisted in over 9 months now).

**What problems is HostPapa solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They host our email, FTP, and previously our website.

The customer service is great. Tech support has knowledge to fix any problem you may have.  My websites have been performing as they should with this company.

Basic is tech support is only available mon - fri.  Sometimes problems occur on the weekend.

**Recommendations to others considering HostPapa:**

I already recommend our church to go to Lunarpages for their website.

It gets my business website live and on the web.  I have also recommended to our church Lunarpages for their website hosting.

I really appreciate the callback feature when the support phone line is busy. I feel like I rarely have to wait too long for a callback

**What do you dislike about HostPapa?**

Not much I dislike, except the current ticket/problem I'm experiencing. They are unable to give an ETA on how long the fix will take. Also, the temporary fix I had to do was a little challenging.

None at the moment, mostly just use them for email and website hosting.

Not much that I like about them at this point. I think they were better a few years ago, when my webmaster  recommended them.

**What do you dislike about HostPapa?**

I had Lunarpages for my site, but when I went to upload new images, I found I could no longer upload basic images. The tech said that shouldn't be an issue, but he couldn't fix it. So he bumped it up to their admins. What a disaster! They just sent generic emails that made my (very experienced) webmaster laugh... and advise me to ditch Lunarpages asap!

Each representative knew hosting technology well. I felt comfortable in their hands. This is a big deal for areas of whichI am not qualified

The personalities were a bit TOO professional (cold), but Lunarpages is a millennium staffed reality, so this is common.

The best thing about Lunarpages is that I no longer use them

Their dismissive technical support.  They came up with every excuse in the book about why an issue that I was having was not their problem even though it was fairly easy to prove that it was happening on hardware under their control, not mine.

Lunarpages hasn't given me any problems over the years and when I have a question they are easy to work with.

Once I had a tech helping me on the phone and he was a bit impatient but that was a few years ago.  Can't think of anything else!

The product of lunarpages hosting I find is Reliable. I feel that the lunarpages hosting solution is easy to use for my company's needs at this time.

Handling updates, sending passwords through unsecure email, asking for personal information through unsecure email. security concerns, not keeping servers up to date.

**Describe the project or task HostPapa helped with:**

We use Lunarpages to host our website hirschac.com as well as other websites and our email accounts . Our websites have advance features and requires the latest version of PHP plus also FFMPEGX to host video. Lunarpages offers all these tools. It also makes it very easy for us to back up the website and also to administer email accounts for our staff. 

**What do you like best about HostPapa?**


Lunarpages is an excellent managed hosting platform. The hosting is reasonably priced. It comes with all the tools needed to managed websites including back up options, domain management and email management. It also uses the latest version of Cpanel so it is very easy to upload new files, and create new email accounts. It also uses Softalicious, so you can quickly install a web platform like Wordpress or Drupal with a single click. This saves hours of time as these platforms otherwise can take a while to set up. 

The support is also very good. Whenever we have a problem, they always sort it out, usually within 24 hours, even on weekends, which is very quick. 

It is extremely secure. In all my time using it, I have never been hacked once. The Lunarpages team also have excellent security scanning software and warn you if there are any potential problems with the files you have uploaded. 

The back up solution provided is very good as you can back up all your hosting with a single button press. It is also very easy to restore back ups. You can select to either restore the entire back up or just a small part of it, so you don’t have to spend hours uploading backups.


**What do you dislike about HostPapa?**

I have no complaints about Lunarpages. It is competitively priced and offers an excellent range of managed hosting tools. The support is excellent as well.

I would highly recommend Lunarpages. It has all the tools you could possibly need to host and manage multiple websites and email accounts. It is very easy to use. The staff are excellent and provide great support.

**Describe the project or task HostPapa helped with:**

I've been using them for over a decade, and they consistently send me threatening emails about my "CPU usage" even though I have a  very low volume site. Typically I get emails that say someone is trying to hack my site (they've never successfully hacked me even once) and since that hack attempt is pushing CPU limits so high, I'm in jeopardy of having my account suspended! It's my fault that someone is hammering my site? They manage infrastructure, they should be monitoring that kind of stuff. They follow up by telling me to check my server logs every day. Yeah, a $5/month website and I'm going to spend my evenings skimming server logs.

They have a confusing ticketing system. I've never created an account but they've created two for me with the same email address. I have some tickets in one account and some in another, even though it's the same email. 

They've sent me my password in plain text emails before. I complained that passwords should be in an irreversible hash, and they say they can't because all their systems are different and they need it unencryptable format so they can keep the password in sync. This is so wrong and backwards! You should stay away from them just because of this. They need to learn about SSO systems; they're a dime-a-dozen nowadays.

They've also moved me from a higher end server to a slower server without telling me or giving me an option. My price stayed the same, but my website went from sub second delivery of cached pages to 4-5 seconds of "waiting..." before my site responds. This happens on every page.

They also go down a LOT. I mean a LOT. I see it down at least once a week, either spinning or delivering 404s. I do not know how they stay in business.

So why do I stay with them? Well, I'm not. It's just super long and difficult to move all my files, DB, domains etc. and I haven't gotten around to it. However, this year has been SO bad, and I've had SO many threatening emails saying, "You are about the maximum 2% CPU usage" that it's probably going to be less time to just migrate.

**What do you like best about HostPapa?**

Cheap solution, however you can find equal or cheaper solutions elsewhere.

**What do you dislike about HostPapa?**

Everything. I've been using them for over 10 years and:
1) Terrible service
2) The move you around to new servers and downgrade you without reducing price
3) Super slow servers
4) Highly unprofessional. I get threatening emails (we will shut you down) because my WordPress site went over 2% CPU. Yes, 2%. I checked that timeframe and that was 3 concurrent users according to GA.
5) They store your account password in a reversible encryption, not an irreversible hash.

**Recommendations to others considering HostPapa:**

Just don't... Bluehost has everything LunarPages has and more, and they do it better. I've been using them for over a decade and the only reason I haven't move yet is because migration would take so much time that I haven't had. That will change this year.

HostPapa's service up-time is very much good. Although, less down time of the website as we been using the hosting for our clients.

Pricing are good and customer support are also quite good. Provides money back guaranty. Support latest cPanel.

One click installer with e-commerce supports. Knowledgebase, Video Tutorials etc available.

Websites are quite faster then other hosting providers. Although, WordPress pages also load faster. Included Solid State Drives (SSD) for Accelerated Performance.

**What do you dislike about HostPapa?**

Bandwidth says Unlimited but it is limited to 200 GB per month for accounts. Customer supports needed time to solve the issues. Technical supports are not quite instant, it needs time to solve the issues.
