What do you like best about Honorlock?

The system monitors the room, the student, the computer screen, and the internet activity. Guarding the integrity of an exam requires that all are covered - otherwise students quickly take advantage of the blind spot. The recordings of all of these make it very simple to handle evidence of inappropripate activity.

The students can take the exam where they feel comfortable (which handles privacy complaints) when they want (if you allow a time window) and without being crammed into an uncomfortable classroom. No more being jostled/distracted by other students and trying to fit into a small desk space.

There are a lot of complaints about the invasion of honorlock. I made a video for my students that simply says "all these issues can be addressed by planning how you want to take the exam". None of the complaints are substantial except you can't combat the idea that "because I don't understand computers I believe anything is possible". Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Honorlock?

Third party exams require Honorlock to work with a different company to make sure the exam can only be accessed when using Honorlock. The system isn't perfect, and sometimes there are loopholes which are hard to fix when two companies need to work together. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Honorlock?

I think the best thing about Honorlock is the ease of use for our faculty and students. Getting them trained and ready was easy with the support and guidance from the team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The only thing I would say is the extension not working on certain devices. We work with high schools and some of them use iPads for their students and we have had to find other solutions for them to be able to utillize the tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Honorlock?

I like that the students have to be held to a high standard and able to use notes while testing online. I can review their testing if needed and the students get warning/chatted with if they are breaking protocol. The chat help is great for getting questions answered easily and quickly. What do you dislike about Honorlock?

I use it twice a semester and I have to remember how each time. If I have a student who wants a live procotr, I can't just override the system with getting a password. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Honorlock?

It is helpful to review the recording of the student who had an issue with their internet or webcam, and see what answers were collected before or after the interference. It is also helpful to know the flags already given, which saves me and the student time. They can take the exam in their own time without going to a testing site. What do you dislike about Honorlock?

It is not possible to block all external webpages without blocking the students' e-textbook. So unfortunately, I cannot restrict their use of internet searching as well as I'd like. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

In our identity verification process, your institution can allow an institution-issued ID card (or ‘one-card), rather than requiring a government-issued photo ID if they choose. In Honorlock, test takers must present a government-issued photo ID or an institution-issued ID card that includes the name and a photo of the test taker.

What do you like best about Honorlock?

The 24-7 availability to students is a real plus. I have been using Honlorlock for 5 years and have never had a complaint from a student about their experience. Proctors are courteous and helpful to students. Honorlock staff respond promtly to my concerns and have a genuine desire to find solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Honorlock?

The student's review of their room environment does not always include their desktop, which would be a likely source of cheating from phones, ipads, etc. I have no other dislikes after using this for many years! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Honorlock?

We are so glad that we made the switch from another online proctoring service to Honorlock.
