HiveMQ stood out mostly for my team because of how cleanly it handled high- throughput MQTT messaging without choking. I started using HiveMQ arround 18 months ago when we hit scaling issue for our previous MQTT setup and so far we have simulated 50k clients in test and it held up fine. It's web UI makes it pretty easy to monitor what's going on. We even wrote a small plugin to filter payloads before they hit our processing system. That would have been more work with our old setup. The scalability of HiveMQ is amazing. It easily manages millions of clients in parallel MQTT connections in our fleet of IoTs. We adore also its solid state of high availability features as well. Our data streams are constantly undisrupted in peak loads. The inbuilt clustering leaves no downtime and this is important to us. The smaller scale projects might be a huge hurdle due to the cost. Its sophisticated setup is a little too complex to initialise. It requires a certain amount of effort to onboard new members of its team to the full possibilities of what it does. Our old system could not be scaled according to the number of devices increasing. Today, the backbone of messages is HiveMQ, which is very scalable and stable. Our devices are compatible with each other since they establish connections and share their data without a problem. Now, HiveMQ serves as a central, robust hub where all our data publishers and subscribers connect safely and efficiently. Being very honest I can state that the most impressive thing about HiveMQ is its fantastic scalability and reliability. We have been able to easily deal with millions of opening connections and messages and this is important to our distributed IoT devices. High availability and enterprise security are also of the highest quality, which makes us feel safe and certain that our data is safe and can be accessed at any time. Despite the fact that HiveMQ is fantastic, pricing is one of the main areas of concern as it can be rather high when it comes to smaller business, or the ones that only started. Prior to HiveMQ, we had an ongoing headache of trying to manage our ID of increasing number of IoT devices. We were scraping together an open-source broker, often hit with message loses, connection constraints as well as significant security exposures over our heterogeneous device sets. It was like being in walking on a tightrope with constant care of stability. Now, we can use HiveMQ as a single point of truth, super-stable and secure backbone of all our IoT data.
