When you have serious technical problem you get whatever entry technician is available. You never get assigned a dedicated technician even with paid premium support. We have been dealing with a DDOS issue for over a month without resolve. Very bad support. We have been a client for over 11 years and can't get a manager to address our issue. Very disappointed. I’ve relied on Hivelocity for a long time and have always been satisfied with their services. They used to be my go-to provider for VPS hosting, and I trusted them completely with my data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Hivelocity? However, my recent experience has been disappointing. Last month, I set up a VPS but forgot to enable auto-pay. When I realized the system was down, I logged in only to find that my VPS had been canceled. I was just five days past the due date, and they automatically canceled and deleted the device. Even though I paid that same day, I was informed that the cancellation is automatic and irreversible. This experience has shaken my confidence in their ability to manage critical data. I’m currently waiting to see if they’ll refund the payment I made for this month since they won’t be honoring the service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. The personalized service. I deal with PEOPLE at Hivelocity (what a concept!), not a chat bot. And not just people but the actual individuals charged with maintaining my production server, 24/7. They are have amazing technical acumen and, just as important, are so eager to address my challenges in the best possible way. They don't just rush to complete a ticket but really consider the bigger picture of what is required to solve the issue now and going forward. Initially, I was a dedicated server customer. Then it dawned on me that with my Cisco background in networking and my passion for technology, I'd be better served building my server and colocating. After having used Hivelocity for a year or two as a dedicated customer and having extensive first-hand accounts of the lengths, they go through to ensure the most superior customer service, the choice for colocation was easy. I lived in Miami then, so I shipped my server; they handled the initial setup and bam, I was a server owner. 10+ years as a colocation customer, and I have to say, under the leadership of Steve E., Hivelocity's technical support and billing department interactions are by far the best in this industry and any other tech service touchpoints I've experienced. With average ticket responses of around 15 minutes and near-instant chat replies, I couldn't ask for more. I moved to Tampa to be near my server, with plans to scale my business with them. After several other data center SNAFUs, we finally found a home at HV. Service has been rock solid, support has always gone above and beyond, and the staff are always available and very effective (and friendly). We have no reservations about recommending HV to friends, business associates, and family. What problems is Hivelocity solving and how is that benefiting you? Most platforms have moved to cloud / managed services, but HiVelocity is still providing great dedicated servers. Their dedicated servers give you full control over the hardware installed per host, the operating system, and the full speed of bare metal without the virtualized overheads of full cloud services. The end result is better performance-per-thread for applications, and cheaper storage per TB than you can get on AWS. Of course, you have to do your own backups and redundancy, but Hivelocity offers load-balancing IP addresses for that. The user interface for managing the servers is good, and has gotten even better in the last few years. Now you can connect to the DRAC / IPMI with nothing but a web browser, from any workstation OS, without messing with a VPN.
