Hillnote is a local-first, markdown-native workspace that keeps your notes, documents, and knowledge base as plain files you own and control. Instead of trapping your work in a proprietary cloud format, Hillnote stores everything as standard markdown on your device—portable, future-proof, and yours. Beyond simple note-taking, Hillnote is a full workspace: write documents, build slide decks and canvases, and organize work in databases and kanban boards. Its native AI integration lets assistants search, read, and act across your entire workspace, turning your notes into a knowledge base your AI tools can actually work with—while your data stays private and under your control. Ideal for writers, researchers, developers, and teams who want the flexibility of a modern workspace without giving up ownership of their data.
