The "What's New" Dashboard is the first page to open, but often times, I sign in to Hightail to simply send files. Most file delivery programs require you to create an account, log in, perhaps pay for the amount of file storage you're using, etc. Hightail doesn't require much information from you for it's basic plan - which is often all I need. **What do you dislike about OpenText Hightail?** I would love to see custom uploading solutions for publication-based projects — i.e. advertisers and contributing art and content via a single link, without having to sign-in. I haven't used the premium features yet, so it's possible this is something available that route. Dropbox is the only other platform that I know of that provides this type of file delivery via File Requests, however, it's not the simplest or cheapest option. **Recommendations to others considering OpenText Hightail:** I would definitely use the trial of Hightail and similar platforms - like Dropbox or even proofing systems like ProofHQ just to compare the simplicity of the interface. Hightail strips away complexity. **What problems is OpenText Hightail solving and how is that benefiting you?** I work with clients in a broad spectrum of industries, and so many of my clients are not particularly tech savvy. Dropbox seems to have a learning curve for many folks and so I usually direct anyone with heavy or numerous files to send through Hightail due to it's black and white uploading and delivery system. ### 11. However, this was very sporadic and didn't happen often. **Recommendations to others considering OpenText Hightail:** Hightail was a lifesaver while working at a Chicago based independent film company Music Box Films. The program was used by me throughout 2015 and they still continue to use today as far as I know. Many times I would need to share and/or save files with countries overseas or across the nation and HighTail made it incredibly easy. Price was reasonable and program was easy to use. The interface is quite simple and straightforward, with easy to use tools and informative notifications. It normally works quickly and effectively without bugging and glitching to much. **What do you dislike about OpenText Hightail?** One of its main flaws is the fact that it does not support many common file types, limiting the user experience to a certain range of files. Also, the log-in process can be quite frustrating if the user isn't accustomed with it. Also, Hightail's unlimited storage and bandwith is a really useful feature to have. Finally, the fact that it is a really simple to use, straightforward software creates a gentle learning curve. **What do you dislike about OpenText Hightail?** Hightail has some flaws that can hinder a little bit the user's productivity. The fact that it does not show the size of a file when you are uplouding and it's poor mobile support are two things I disliked about it. In addition to that, Hightail has a limited range of files that it supports which makes working on it a little bit harder. **Recommendations to others considering OpenText Hightail:** Make good use of Hightail's unlimited storage and bandwith, but make sure you check the file type you want to store or share before uplouding because there are some file types that Hightail does not support. **What problems is OpenText Hightail solving and how is that benefiting you?** I've used Hightail to share .xslx, .docx and .pdf about mty current project with my employees. It usually asks you to download the video and work from there. I have impatient clients, which means that this frustrates them and make them not want to us Hightail, and therefore want to use other softwares. **What problems is OpenText Hightail solving and how is that benefiting you?** Hightail allows us to have our client review the videos we produce for them in a manner that gets through their firewall. The most important benefit is that it is mobile friendly, which many file-sharing softwares we use for video are not. ### 42. The more affordable 9.95 monthly plan was eliminated without warning even though it was still listed. Awful usability on iPad. The AppStore wanted to charge one price but Hightail wanted to charge another. It seemed like Hightail and the AppStore didn't agree on what their customers would experience. Hard time gettting it sorted and a refund. Then, the Hightail rep kept sending me messages to clear the ticket well after the issue had already been resolved.
