The ability for users to set up a profile is not user-friendly and has minimal style. **What problems is Higher Logic Thrive solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were looking for a community software to manage our Membership and events. ### 2. You can build multiple, all-in-one sites using the Bootstrap framework. From an association perspective, the ability to offer a place on your website where members can interact is quite valuable, so long as it functions well. We can build numerous staging sites with community functions that link to our AMS while Higher Logic handles file hosting, security and technical support. As a small operation that does a lot of our IT in-house, this is a huge advantage. HL also has an active client base that regularly make use of the HUG forums to ask questions and get ideas from each other - this has helped us solve some problems in the past, as well as draw our attention to new features we otherwise wouldn't have known about. **What do you dislike about Higher Logic Thrive?** As Higher Logic has rushed to acquire, the platform has gone downhill tremendously. We constantly find bugs that customer service has repeatedly dragged its feet to respond. When we first launched, it was nightmare trying to make sense of where we needed to direct the DNS, and the President of the company responded personally to apologize. Nowadays, I'm often sending up follow-up emails to support asking for a response to my initial question. Tech support often seems confused about solutions, or provides temporary fixes. And considering the cost of the product, which has both increased and now must be paid annually rather than monthly, we are preparing to move to other platforms. Until HL makes some serious improvements to the initial platforms and its customer service, I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone. **Recommendations to others considering Higher Logic Thrive:** Higher Logic is really a one-of-a-kind system. If moving to the platform, take advantage of the on-site trainings for new clients as well as their annual conference, where they deep dive into more advance subjects that will really help you make the most of your HL site(s). While it doesn't take long to learn the CMS, it does require you to know HTML, CSS and probably some javascript. Create a HUG account (their client site) and make good use of the discussion forums when you get stuck. They have a very active client community. But, above all else, talk to other clients first. It's a huge investment and not a great product. **What problems is Higher Logic Thrive solving and how is that benefiting you?** HL is first and foremost a community site, and members have been able to ask questions and get ideas from each other, and it has encouraged others to do the same. It has also become a great way to conduct committee business. However, we sometimes struggle to get our members to use the community features, but I think that has more to do with the type of members we have -- they work in a broad range of fields as opposed to a particular specialty, so one person's concerns may not be relevant to more than a few members. ### 3. Fonts, colors, and text sizes will frequently be inconsistent within a paragraph or full email, for no apparent reason, and you'll have to work directly within the HTML in order to fix it. Occasionally, messages that are scheduled for a specific time will get sent out up to 15 minutes in advance of the scheduled time. Support often doesn't seem to understand the platform, or will respond along the lines of "yes, we know that's a problem, there's no way to fix it." **What problems is Higher Logic Thrive solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Real Magnet for all our email marketing, because it is an inexpensive option. ## Higher Logic Thrive Discussions -
