HiCAD is highly effective across all industries, from design to the creation of manufacturing drawings and bills of materials. Whether in plant engineering with pipeline planning, mechanical engineering, or steel and metal construction, HiCAD adapts optimally to operational structures and, in combination with HELiOS, can communicate very efficiently with existing systems (ERP). All manufacturing data can be output automatically (DXF, DWG, STP etc). Workshop drawings are dimensioned automatically, while isometrics and piping plans are generated automatically as well. The software solution is relatively expensive, but it is available as a perpetual license. This ensures independence from price increases, so there is no real disadvantage. Fast design processes without parametric constraints allow for easy modifications at a later stage. Automation features and configurators significantly accelerate the design process. The automatic generation of manufacturing drawings saves a great deal of time. "My review about HiCAD" 4.5/5 What do you like best about HiCAD? HiCAD gives you maximum flexibility. You can directly design your product model in 3D and get 2D production drawings here. Or you can draw 2-dimensional initially, then add 3-dimensional objects and automatically transform your drawing into a 3D model. Although I have used this application for a short time, I cannot say that I have seen any disadvantages or shortcomings. It is an easy and fast application for me to learn. They are focusing on integrating 2D and 3D in one piece of software. Which is great if you have to deal with both of it. The steel sheet part is good integrated as well.
