"Lovely Sentiment, Unsure Execution"
2/5
What do you like best about HeyTaco?

I'm writing this as just an end-user, and not someone who implemented the product.

It's nice to have a channel to send shout outs to your colleagues. There's exec visibility, so I'd like to think this helps them get more insight into who works hard and makes stuff happen for their team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HeyTaco?

I'm not really sure what the outcomes are. I think I get stickers and can share stickers with people. If execs/management aren't following the channel closely, is there any notification they get saying "hey - your IC got 30 tacos!"? Maybe there is, but it's not super clear to me if they actually see things and so whether or not you end up getting the credit for a job well done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good for keeping in touch with the team and is a positive influence"
4/5
What do you like best about HeyTaco?

The tacos themselves send a positive message. I am for anything that contributes to a positive or uplifting feeling. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HeyTaco?

Taco messages are not private and can sometimes be seen by people outside the company, like clients. This creates a risk of unintended oversharing, especially if someone includes a company name by mistake. While this hasn’t happened to me personally, I've seen it cause uncomfortable situations for others. I think having more guidance or nudges to use DMs in certain cases would help reduce these risks and improve the overall experience. Apparently, this isn't something directly controlled by HeyTaco, so I gave an 8 overall.

It can sometimes be hard for me to shift gears during a busy day to write a thoughtful message, even though the intent behind it is appreciated, but this is a very minor issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"HeyTaco makes it easy to connect with the team"
5/5
What do you like best about HeyTaco?

Easy taco reactions to add on and echo what others are saying. It's easy to use once you get a hang of it. I use it every work day and it's satisfying to collect the tacos. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HeyTaco?

Only five tacos a day is a little limiting. It would be nice to have the stickers available in Slack. The stickers were confusing to me at first, but I figured out how they worked. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Always Happy to Receive Tacos!"
4/5
What do you like best about HeyTaco?

Sending tacos is a lighthearted way to show appreciation that is quick, informal, and surprisingly meaningful. Tacos boost team morale and spread corporate culture by allowing frequent peer-to-peer shoutouts to help build a culture of gratitude and visibility, especially for remote teams.

Seamlessly integrates with Slack, so recognition occurs right in the flow of daily communication. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HeyTaco?

I feel frustrated when popular taco stickers are limited. Frequent taco alerts can clutter Slack channels or distract from core work, leading to notification overload. I would like to be able to mute a specific channel until a certain time of day. I want more emoji options, themed tacos, or deeper personalization features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Extraordinary and very motivating"
5/5
What do you like best about HeyTaco?

The ease of changing the rewards, feeling valued, and having various options. The implementation time to meet goals and purposes, the day support failed, they resolved it quickly, almost within 24 hours. I use it daily, it's wonderful, it's easy to integrate as an incentive in a company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HeyTaco?

the time it takes to gather the necessary amount to access the rewards, sometimes the app fails since it was linked to Slack. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A highlight for my work day"
5/5
What do you like best about HeyTaco?

I like that its a way to give kudos to colleagues that actually have tangible benefits. Its fun to see who other people are calling out for doing a good job, and is nice to be able to recognize people cross functionally. I really like that HeyTaco does frequent charity donation matches as well Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HeyTaco?

Limits set on how many can be given a day but I am aware that is probably a choice made per company.

It can be clunky when you want to give multiple tacos to one person; selecting each individual taco emoji is tedious Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"My Experience with HeyTaco: Great for Recognition and Team Help"
4/5
What do you like best about HeyTaco?

I really like several things about HeyTaco and how it's impacting our team.

It makes giving recognition incredibly easy and fun. HeyTaco is perfect for acknowledging the smaller, but still very valuable, efforts and assists that happen constantly within a team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HeyTaco?

There's very little I dislike about HeyTaco. It's a simple, effective, and fun tool that does exactly what we need it to do for peer recognition.

Yet I find it that once a reward is claimed (I claimed 25 Taco sweet and fun treet) so its out of stock and anyone having 28 or 30 tacos need to run for 40 taco reward. Very likely depends on ORG level thing that can be solved by increasing stock. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Fun Way to Reward Coworkers and Redeem Rewards"
4.5/5
What do you like best about HeyTaco?

It is a fun way to reward my coworkers, and we get to redeem rewards as well! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HeyTaco?

The tagging could be better, like if I tag two people I want to give them each a taco, but it gives 2 to both Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Una Japundza of HeyTaco

We love hearing that — fun and redeemable rewards is a pretty great combo 🌮💛 And strengthening coworker bonds? That’s the real win.

On tagging multiple people: great callout. By design, when you tag two teammates and include “2 tacos,” each person receives 2 tacos (not 1 each). That helps keep recognition clear and consistent across the board.

If you’d like to give 1 taco to each person, just include “1 taco” in your message while tagging them both.

If you want to split different amounts between people, you can send separate taco messages to keep it precise.

We know formatting can feel a little nuanced at first, but once you get the rhythm, it becomes second nature. And we’re always listening for ways to make the experience even more intuitive.

Thanks for sharing — keep those tacos (correctly portioned 😉) flowing! 🌮✨

"Easy, Visible Shoutouts That Make Recognition Effortless"
5/5
What do you like best about HeyTaco?

I like how easy and visible it is to give someone a shoutout. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HeyTaco?

The daily limitation feels too low. High priority projects that deserve praise often have more than 4 people working hard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Una Japundza of HeyTaco

Thank you for sharing this — we’re glad HeyTaco makes recognition easy and visible. That visibility across teams is exactly what helps build shared awareness and pride in the work being done 🌮

We also appreciate the feedback about the daily taco limit. The good news is that admins can adjust the daily taco allowance at any time, so if your team is regularly working on large, collaborative projects, that’s something they can tailor to better fit your culture.

One of our favorite outcomes you mentioned is the “visible interactions” across teams — HeyTaco often becomes a kind of virtual watercooler, where people can see wins happening outside their immediate circle. That cross-team visibility is what really strengthens culture over time.

Thanks again for the review!

"Fun team appreciation, but sticker sending could easier—would love to easily without leaving Slack"
3.5/5
What do you like best about HeyTaco?

Fun and easy way to show appreciation for team members. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Not clear how to use the stickers! Would love to be able to give a taco sticker without leaving Slack. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Thank you for your review! Good news - you can send stickers directly from Slack with slash commands :) Check out this video to see how to do that. Happy sticker giving 😻
