I like knowing that I can keep toe-to-toe with my competition, checking their websites for price changes, new services or just keeping track of how their website has changed, perhaps signaling a major change in my competitors online strategy. I also like that I can keep an eye on my partners websites, ensuring their backlinks stay correct with the right anchor text. I even use Hexowatch to monitor my obligations with external links to my partner sites. It's a dead simple way to make sure that your backlinks are always powered up and active. There are several little usability features that could be implemented, like for example, bulk editing. Or the ability to edit the entire monitor (currently, once you save a monitor, and need to make a change later, only some of the options are available to edit.) That said - it's really only a matter of time before these minor gripes will be addressed. The team at Hexowatch are always pushing out great new features and squashing bugs. So, don't let a few little usability issues lead you astray - be patient, and I'm sure they will be taken care of in no time. In my few weeks with Hexowatch, I feel that this is the software to add to your collection, especially while the prices are really favorable! I find Hexowatch's visual monitoring feature most useful in my business. With it, you can monitor any web page for visual changes as well as the sensitivity of those checks. When a change does take place, you can view those changes using a nifty before/after slider bar or highlighter graphic (that superimposes the before/after states). It's such a cool feature! The UI/UX has improved a lot since I first started using it; however, I feel there is still room for improvement. For example, the Monitored URLs window doesn't show tags or allow bulk edits. Also, there are currently some limitations on editing existing monitors.

I've been a web dev for 20+ years and have used similiar software in the past. But those software cost a small fortune and they don't even provide more features. For almost all website owners it's cruical to be up to date what your competitors are doing as if you don't, you can be left behind before you even realize it. So basically you have to choices, to manually spend a lot of time to keep an eye of a, in many cases, lot of web sites to see what they are up to. OR you can use Hexowatch to monitor which ever website you want and save huge amount of time. And best of all, it's so easy to use that anyone will be up and running in no time. It's hard to find anything negative about Hexowatch. But there are some room for improvement when it comes to UI/UX. One example is that when you add a new URL to monitor and are going to tag it and an appropiate tag doesn't exist so you need to create a new tag. By doing that you'll get transfered to another page to create the tag and you then have to start over by opening the "Add URL"-page, enter the URL again and then you can choose your new tag. I think that it should be possible to create tags without jumping back and forth between pages. I mean, AJAX isn't that hard to implement for such a feature. I like that it has quite a few different methods for monitoring the target pages (and even specific areas of target pages) that I want to follow, for changes important to my needs. Changelogs are common documents I watch, along with specific products pages of bother competitors and partner sites. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Because Hexowatch is a fairly new app, some of the user interface is still being refined. It is not that big of deal though, because their customer service support team is very responsive and they make the effort to document any suggestions I have made to their roadmap. The ability to monitor all the competitor websites of interest I need to spy on and keep track of each changes made by clients on their website.

There is many monitoring tools on the market but nothing like Hexowatch on the market right now. It can be used as an uptime monitoring tool but that's not its main purpose. It is its capacity to gather insights that is really staggering.

Want to now when a private sell will open? Boom, you'll receive a real time notification to tell you when it happens. Want to know your next competitor move or digital marketing strategy? Boom you'll be able to know instantly when they update their page. Want to monitor your website uptime, Hexowatch can do this too.

Even better than this: you can track any site ownership via Whois monitoring, this is a killer feature! But also any webdesign/layout change, frontend technologies used on a webpage.

You can track keywords, html code change on any page, have a visual comparison between changes, pretty neat and well thought of.

It has lots of different monitoring options. I mostly use the full page visual (you can select how much needs to change for notifications) and individual HTML elements monitoring, but it has more options than that.

The check times are fairly flexible.

The system is being actively developed and enhanced.

I really do like the Telegram notification option for items I need to look at quicker and just e-mail for others. It also support Slack and Zapier, but I don't use that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As of 2020-09-25: If they could include more information in the e-mail rather than just a link to the information on their website and if it would support cookies and actions so that I could select for example a store for monitoring a retailer's website, that would be great. Hexowatch is great to set up your army of spies and send them spy on any given website. The tool allows you to monitor any type of webpage for any type of change (HTML, text...). I use it to track links and make sure they don't get removed. Very useful as I don't have to check every month a long list of URLs. The UI could be improved. It still is a young tool on the market and there are quite a few things it can improve. But the team is very responsive and keeps updating the tools. Visual and Keyword Monitoring is the tool that I use the most, while the HTML and techstach checks are nice and all, i find it too technical as I am not a developer.

So my typical use case is I monitor my suppliers website and targeting the part where it displays the price and I will be notified everytime they increase/decrease pricing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This is a fairly new product so sometimes I still get event was not captured notification as well as when you create a visual monitoring, there's no way to edit the area you're watching so you'd have to delete it and start over a new one where you lose all the history of the previous monitoring.
