What I like best about Hexnode UEM is the breadth of platform support it delivers from a single, unified management console. Managing Android, IOS. MacOS, Windows devices from one place without needing separate MDM solutions for each platform significantly simplifies the endpoint management workflow, particularly in environments with diverse device fleets spanning both corporate-owned and BYOD devices across multiple operating systems.
The policy management and configurations, network settings, security policies and compliance rues to large groups of devices is straightforward once device groups and policy hierarchies are set up correctly, and the ability to target policies at the user, group, or device level gives administrators the flexibility needed to handle complex, multi-tier enrollment scenarios without excessive manual intervention.
The kiosk management functionality is another standout feature that sets Hexnode apart from many competing UEM platforms. Being able to lock down devices into single-app or multi-app kiosk mode with custom branding and restricted access is particularly valuable for managing dedicated use devices like point-of-sale terminals, digital-signage displays, or field service tablets. For IT admins managing mixed fleets of general purpose and dedicated use devices simultaneously, having that capability natively within the same UEM platform without requiring a separate kiosk management solution is a meaningful operational advantage. While Hexnode UEM is a capable and feature rich endpoint management platform, there are some genuine pain points that surface in day-to-day administration. The reporting capability are one of the most consistent frustrations while the platform collects a significant amount of device telemetry and compliance data, the out of the box report templates are limited in customization and don't always align with the specific metrics needed for client facing compliance reports or internal audit requirements. Building meaningful custom reports beyond the default views requires manual data extraction that adds unnecessary administrative overhead.
The policy troubleshooting experience also leaves room for improvement. When a configuration profile or compliance policy fails to apply correctly on a specific device or device group, diagnosing the root cause isn't always straightforward. Error messaging in the console is sometimes vague and doesn't provide enough actionable detail to resolve the issue without escalating to support or spending significant time testing different configuration combinations.
App management for IOS devices, while functional, can be cumbersome in environments with large volume of managed apps. Keeping app versions current, managing VPP licenses and pushing updates to large device groups requires more manual intervention than it should and the lack of more granular app update scheduling options adds friction to what should be a largely automated workflow.
Customer support response times can also be inconsistent. For time-sensitive issue affecting a large number of managed devices, waiting extend periods for a meaningful technical response adds operational risk that is difficult to justify in environments where endpoint availability directly impacts business continuity. A more tiered, priority-based support model would significantly improve the overall platform experience for enterprise customer managing large, business critical device fleets.
